  1. Enjoying.... We are on Seascape in YC Thanksgiving week....your level of detail is perfect! Thx
  2. First wine...now Lobster..... Next will it be box lunches for excursions?? Geez
  3. I received a declination of my bid offer the day of our cruise...
  4. We will be on Seascape (YC) in November. Looking forward to reading your experiences and observations. Happy sailing!!
  5. Not in N America… i think 95% understood my statement
  6. If there is any consolation...MSC appears to have the cheapest beverage package rates compared to the "big boys" of the industry!
  7. I assume she has a Guardian. Have Guardian write a letter (many examples on line) allowing permission for her to accompany your family on the trip. Show the dates , any airline information and the ship sailing information. They should also give you authority to act on their behalf in the case of a medical emergency. Have it notarized. This will probably be more valuable when you return to US and go through immigration.
  8. Nope...Burgers are delicious...but you only can get in Windjammer
  9. I too have cruised on all the above lines including Havana on Carnival....Just not Haven on NCL or Oceania. If I could compare my observations from 25+ cruises....MSC (non YC) overall observations of service, passenger type/behavior, food, organization, etc would come in at the bottom 5. Both times I cruised on MSC (YC) ...we brought our 8 and then 9 year old grandson. I did have the opportunity to observe and compare as I spent alot of time outsideYC so he could enjoy other parts of ship... But we all have our own opinions so I will leave it at that.
  10. Yes… but not necessarily on MSC. Ive cruised on most major lines out of N America and MSC is the most inconsistent and chaotic cruise line i have observed. You need alot of patience and a good sense of humor to survive a week on MSC , outside YC.
  11. Yes… but they moved it to FtLauderdale several years later… there are reviews on Cruise Critic shoeing departure from Ft Lauderdale
  12. I think your later statement " be disappointed I can't do it a again because it's too expensive"...is the main reason and rightfully so...Because once you cruise in YC you will not want to cruise in another category on a MSC ship. Its safe to say....MSC cruise outside of YC....is a crap shoot and likely will cause more headache then pleasure
  13. Definitely was Divina ship was huge and shiny (lol)...I recall telling my wife...what a gorgeous ship as we sailed away on Carnival or Princess at the time. I looked it up when we returned and there are reviews on Cruise Critic from people who sailed Divina out of FLL 2015/2016
  14. Divina used to cruise out of Ft Lauderdale....I believe it was in the early 2010's when MSC first entered the US market. I recall seeing the gorgeous ship across the port from the other ships.
  15. Very hard to believe that YC pricing was lower than Havana...Im Platinum on Carnival so Ive cruised them quite a bit, including Havana on Vista...Have also done YC 2x and will again in Nov. Perhaps the new ship makes a difference...but I personally do not like layout of new Havana areas on the non Vista built ships.
  16. At those prices might as well buy beverage package
  17. I almost always come down with a cold after our cruises.... Its pretty much inevitable being around 1000's of passengers for a week. I also work at a school with over 800 students/staff... hard to stay healthy and not unusual to catch something every couple months. But never severe enough to miss a day of work. I don't give it a second thought and instead chuckle at the people who think the world is coming to an end if they catch something. To each their own!
  18. You will love the Yacht Club. The beauty of the "ship within ship" concept is that you really could stay in YC for whole cruise and have an enjoyable time without dealing with the craziness and large crowds of rest of ship. Your butler will escort you to any show you reserve..so again expedited service. You have prority and butler escort for excursion or leaving ship on port calls. I would recommend you do visit other areasand stroll the whole ship as MSC ships are gorgeous. If crowds concern you....use a prt day to explore the ship and try venues outside YC. The bang for the buck can't be matched on any other line for YC sailings.
  19. When I cruised on Seaside back in 2019 (in Yacht Club)...They offered a small amount of daily passes to non YC passengers for $99/day.... This did not include dinner in Restaurant but did give them full access to YC area during day and lunch. We received a communication explaining we could be seeing these "day passes" in YC. I guess it was sorta like an excursion on Sea Days?! I heard they discontinued this practice/offering.
  20. This is what happens when a destination is built by Cruise companies instead of it just being a true port.
  21. Geez...Pretty soon it will be like our Southern Border lol
  22. We were on Odyssey last Thanksgiving. Same itinerary. Loved the ship! Playmaker's and Sports Plex was amazing. World Cup was on during cruise....and the numerous screens in these venues mad it a blast. Solarium is also fantastic. You'll love the ship!
  23. Nice review... However, I find it interesting after cruising 20+ times....you decided on a MSC cruise especially with family. As a seasoned cruiser...Im sure you've reviewed and read past experiences other cruisers had on MSC (outside YC). So many inconsistencies. I have to assume it was likely due to proximity/convenience to where you live? But RCL also cruises out of the NY area. I too tried MSC (Seaside) in 2018 after 20+ cruises.... However after carefully reading numerous reviews and comments on cruise critic....I got 2nd thoughts and hedged my bet by booking Yacht Club.... Best decision I made and my observations of other areas of ship confirmed my decision! My experience was so positive we went on Seaside again in 2019 also in Yacht Club. MSC has beautiful ships but they still are far behind the other main stream lines for a consistent and a minimal issue(s) cruise!
  24. No it doesn't ....and Im sure other airlines are still flying to Haiti
