  1. Just back from a 9N on Sat. Our 11 yr old was at near the top age for her group. They only allowed 30 kids in her section and the 5 yr old only had 15 allowed. We will be back the end of July and plan to bring lots to do for her to keep herself active IF she can't get in. There are lot of activities around ship but I do not believe parents should be entering their 5 and 7 yr olds, as evidenced by the crying of 2 little girls when they didn't get high points and move on in a basketball game and then another day on corn hole. These were BOTH clearly adult activities. Both times parents had their kids first in line at sign up. I understand the crew member trying to keep the peace but it really didn't make for much happiness, even bending the rules, the kids just cannot compete with grown athletic guests. The flip to that was the parents that just told their kids it was OK to run around ship in their little packs. I am NOT trying to tick anyone off. Just making observations from our recent cruise.
  2. What exactly are you protesting? Being lazy? staying in your cabin? having someone bring what you request, to you in said cabin? Kindness...
  3. Biker That is a much clearer explanation than what I was told and it does make sense. TAs handle everyone, everywhere. Glitch could be the CC or as you said, and they experienced, changes. Thank you so much for clarity.
  4. Ahh...that Pellegrino, does it every time. Glad you are both doing well. Might see you on the EOS 🤞
  5. I was totally misinformed then. We sailed for 3 weeks with a couple from France that booked with the US Royal office. They claimed they saved enough to get their 3rd week at less that 1/2 of the cost by doing it that way. They stated that they had many problems when trying to make a change to their booking because they were "not supposed to book with the US Royal office since they were French residents". I enjoy learning all the many things I pick up from CC and I do apologize when I have followed advise from someone else and it turns out to be incorrect.
  6. I do book a cabin I want but I still have some room to dream. I have gotten 2 Bids accepted and each time did get something a bit better than I booked originally, especially when doing the lift and shift bookings. It was nice to get a surprise upgrade. I like the program and think it is fun. Plus, I enjoy the element of surprise.
  7. With some ships having 5K guests, reservations are filling up.
  8. I know, isn't that wonderful? Regulations changed just in time for our cruise on Thursday.
  9. They will fit right in with the regulars at the B-more jail. So unfortunate that they can't yet behave and still have to act like minors and drink to excess. Those are some of the things that kids never seem to forget, adults acting like complete fools and being threatening to those around them. Kids expect adults to be the ones that are the examples of proper behavior. So sad.
  10. We will be on that cruise too. Everyone is really looking forward to being together on ship again.
  11. We had this with the 10 yr old (now 11). She had 2 vaccines, we showed the card at the port. Also had her pre tested along with the rest of the family. It does make a difference on ship at Adventure Ocean activities. Just make sure you clear it up as you board. Have a great cruise.
  12. Haven't seen you posting much lately. Guess we are reading different threads. Glad to see you are well.
  13. We had a 50min hold last week on Wed. You cannot do it on line and do need to call. We changed ours to.
  14. IF you have your vaccines given locally, just call them up and stop by for a replacement card. You will have other times when you will need it. Having the digital copy will help along with a photo ID. I do NOT know the "real"policy but we had someone in our group that had their purse stolen and theirs was inside. They were told they needed the original CDC card, not a pic of it. They said it was very easy to get replaced. Whenever, I am in doubt, I just call Royal. The C&A dept is very good about giving us the correct advise and answers.
  15. Room service is NOT part of prepaid tips.
  16. Our Walgreens has stopped all testing. We have only CVS unless we drive into the city. Really not a hardship but just pointing out that some stores are stopping testing. When I asked if it was a corporate decision I was told that the individual store and staffing determined how best to use their staff. We went with Azova testing, $20/pp and used the tests sent to us by the government via USPS. Just did them at 9:00PM via telmed connection, and had results in 15 minutes. VERY efficient, and very professional. Needed tested today for Bermuda. Our PCR back up testing site could not guarantee results before Thursday afternoon because of some lab issues. Heavens! What a mess testing locally has become. I hope everyone finds what will work for them and get negative results. We were really on edge as the numbers at school had gone up and we worried about the teen, but she was negative (no symptoms). Just stressed because a friend did test positive back the first week of May and their family had to cancel their cruise. Do wish y'all negative results and happy cruises.
  17. Remember even on cloudy, overcast days, you can still BURN. Don't ruin your cruise with a sunburn.
  18. You will have a great time. Enjoy your cruise. Lots of fun things to do in Bermuda. Nice people.
  19. Oh Molly, so sorry. Hopefully mild to no symptoms and rapid recovery. Rebook when you can. Hugs.
  20. Let the Lady talk. Your Sir, can click to the next thread if it bothers you.
  21. Just remember the transfer to your TA when you get home and to book your cruise within the year. You cannot do TBD and not book something. You will forfeit your deposit.
  22. I do NOT know Norway specific FCC regulations. I do know that the 11 yr old had a FCC that could be transferred ONCE. Contact Royal directly about Please let us all know what the final decision about this turned out to be. You have a lot of things going on, from another country, booked with US Royal and paid in US$$$. It is hard enough for most of us to keep track of the regular US rules for us and I know that no one on CC wants to misdirect you.
  23. I am sorry to hear of your dilemma. I have only used a gty once when there was nothing else left and I booked very late. I really do not think Royal will do anything for you since you booked with a TA. I do think your paper trail will be your best hope for change. I save every bit of paper about each cruise from booking until post cruise. IF there are any issues you have that paper trail to back you up. It has saved me many times over the years. I do hope you get the resolution you desire BUT if you don't keep your mind open and try to enjoy what you do have. Consider this a learning experience and make sure you always have the cabin you would be happy with, make sure the TA, or Royal rep, has explained exactly what the gty will give you, if you book one again. I personally like the Boardwalk balconies.
  24. That is correct as of a week ago. Friends just returned and took tons of pics of everything, even in areas that said no cameras. They are now on another cruise, this one from NJ. I sent a text asking if they can send me the pic of the sign. IF they do, I will post it for you to see.
