  1. EXCUSE me, IF the passport has expired... Start at the beginning for a thread. Don't jump in and assume. OP's daughter, age 16, has a passport that expires July 2022.
  2. We do have July 4th and Labor Day coming up. Then, the biggie, Black Friday. Am booking when on ship next week and will monitor but especially during the larger sale dates for price drops. I do love a good bargin.
  3. I am not trying to create more plastic. I use a YETI at home but I like the closed convenience of a light weight resealable non-leaking toss and go when walking, exploring. I do not want the upright YETI that leaks when upside down in my bag. I had a bottom sliced on a backpack, in a very crowded museum, they didn't get much but the idea that it was done on my back, just freaked me. I now only use a back back when actually hiking in non-urban areas but on trails, not on excursions or exploring in new places. I do have some of those strange looking collapsible refillable water containers and plan to bring several, one for each of us to use. I also, do not drink anything from cans, nasty taste and the aluminum probably does some sort of leaching into the beverage. At home, we have a PUR, on the sink and fridge water unit. No bottles at all.
  4. From my experience, they are always willing to take my money. I have upgrade a drink package and added to a ZOOM/drink package without any problems. While I cannot address dining, I am guessing they will be just as happy to upgrade that.
  5. The coffee card and the vouchers plus a drink or 2 extra is what I get. I have used it on a different sailing. I bought and used it on one and a month later another one. I had one left and thought I would try it. Worked. It was the same ship, don't know if that made any difference.
  6. John&LaLa That clip had me LOL and the dog had to come make sure everything was OK. Venti, 20 oz. 🤣
  7. Another thought. Both Key West and Nassau have nice sidewalks for a stroller and you do NOT need to take any transportation as you can just walk right off the ship into their shopping/town areas. In Key West you can even walk from the ship to the southern most point in the US, to Hemingway's home and to all the points in town. You could lunch at Margaritaville and have a Cheeseburger in Paradise, or get a frozen Key lime chocolate covered slice from any number of shops. There is a treasure museum filled with things from shipwrecks. In Nassau, you can walk through the Junkanoo Museum, on West St (M-F 9-5) right in downtown. TONS of very colorful customs that little ones really enjoy. Perfect Day does have a toddler splash area. I do not know the swim diaper rule or potty trained rule for the island. I know you know, but my 11 year old says I have to tell you, LOTS of sunscreen and a hat. She is also, the one that gave me the updates to share with you.
  8. This is one of those threads that has potential to go off down a rabbit hole. Please, beware. YOUR primary focus should be to make some family memories and have fun together. We have cruised with a 10 month old. That little one was a true gem. She was calm, friendly, slept great, napped every afternoon. There was no way we would have repeated that with the babies that followed. They did not have her affect and were each 3-4 before they were on ship. I do think a short cruise is best because it will be YOU that will be looking after the baby, same as at home, only now in strange surroundings and on a ship and in various ports. Think which ports you would like to visit? Is there something either you or your husband really would like to see? I do know that from a personal stand point, that same child that was on her 1st cruise at 10 months, went to Key West at 15 months and was so excited to see the polydactyl cats and kittens at Hemingways' home. We bought a small umbrella style stroller with a great sun/rain hood and big basket for "stuff". It was well worth the money as she used it until she was almost 3 when in ports. We did lots of walking and the stroller was her little private throne. I would suggest either cruise #1 or #2 but that would be what would work for me, for our little one. Key West has nice shaded sidewalks to push as you sight see and child friendly shops. Nassau is the best of the 3 ports for kid friendly. Perfect Day is a BIG beach port and if the baby loves water AND sand, that would be a fun port. Now, one last thought, the ship. Royal has the great kids area for the babies. I would make sure the ship had one that has reopened. Also, remember to ask early on for the 'Crib" in the cabin. They are really more of a pack n play unit but good for 4 nights. Be sure to bring cuddle toys. blanket, whatever and formula for the baby. The chef will make whatever you want for the baby. They are fabulous! I hope you have a wonderful time planning and then enjoy your first cruise as a family unit. How exciting.
  9. The level goes to everyone in the household, even kiddos. However, each person earns their own points. Some people get really confused over this point. The household receives the Diamond but individually they each only have points assigned to their C&A that they have earned. Enjoy the Diamond rewards on your way to Plus.
  10. WE were on that sailing and it was NOT anything I ever want repeated. Some memories are just better filed in a far corner and not thought of. I feel for the crew, guests and the guests of the rerouted ship. We were compensated then. The guests that had cruises cancelled were also compensated. IF someone was doing a pre-cruise fly in with hotel, that is where travel insurance comes in. What the cruise line doesn't take care of, the insurance will. Again, so grateful no one was hurt.
  11. While it is great that you are trying to compile a list of benefits, just remember you will find that some things seem to just not be available on certain ships at certain times. From reading multiple posts, it seems that that might be tied to staffing issues, either numbers on ship or (more likely) the number available to work due to quarantine. I do not know who said this but I really wish I could give them credit, "Flexibility is the rule of happy existence during the start up period (on any ship). If you canNOT bend with the wind, maybe you should wait for calmer days to cruise...or even walk out side. Nothing is as it was yesterday, and most likely will not be the way it is today tomorrow." I even used it in a modified form when giving a talk recently. Great advice. Also, make sure the information is recent so you won't be expecting what isn't even current. Have a great cruise, and congrats on making Diamond.
  12. Our teen told us to do this last cruise and it worked great. Slow, patchy, to nonexistent wifi at port. Don't know how they ever process everyone unless they have a relay router right at their stations. That screen shot was a major time saver for us.
  13. NV has great entertainment. As stated lots of variety show material plus the Royal Caribbean singers and dancers do 2 shows. There is currently Showgirls and a second show is "due to start in mid June-ish", per the dance captain. Don't forget the ice shows.
  14. I was able to just a few minutes ago and could not do anything except on the planner before that, since 2 pm I had checked about 3-4 times. Just went to the blank screen. Worked fine just now. Good luck to all of you checking rates or trying to book.
  15. This happened to me for our July cruise. I was paid in full and now have a $404 OBC addition on my account. Guess I can do the Chef's Table and some excursions without touching my current bank account balance. Nice.
  16. My concern is you can't reseal and carry a can while on excursion or walking around the ship. I would gladly pay extra for the bottles.
  17. From a medical view point, please get a PCR test when able and until then, wait a day or 2, isolated, and do a Rapid antigen test. You will feel better just knowing the results. Call and make a telemed visit with your dr ASAP. That way it will be documented that you are in fact ill, feeling like doo-doo and truly cannot sail. You do not know if you will be asked for some medical "proof" father down the line. I am so glad it has worked out well for you. A full refund is fabulous. Take care, Stay hydrated. Get well.
  18. It was not termed a "room selection fee" just the upcharge for us picking our own cabin. This was in 2019. I do not know if it was the cruise line or our fabulous TA, but we "lost" our cabin choice, along with 3 others in our group of 15 cabins. I did not ask if any of them received any compensation, because I was not sure if it had to do with a loyalty level, the amount of business we brought the TA, or just a blessing, but we did have an OBC that was equal to the difference between the 2 rates. Just a thought, have you asked your TA for this compensation?
  19. This is a topic that was informative for a lot of us. Thank you. I wish the friends' Momma well and the OP and group a lovely relaxing cruise.
  20. I go to the Solarium Bistro for my regular coffee.
  21. Love that "my much healthier wife goes running".
  22. I have only seen syrups once and they were actually gifted by a guest. Somehow, they were able to bring on a case of syrups and they were gifted to the lounge. That was such a great treat. I wonder if they still do that? I was told that was a habit they had and did it most sailings. It was preCovid. Never knew who the special guest was but always left little thank you post its for them. I just get simple cappuccinos in the lounge, and use a voucher for a special flavored specific one most afternoons.
  23. Oh my! I love those cookies. I do the same thing. I keep them in the cabin for a "snack". Definitely am not ever hungry on a cruise but they are just so yummy. One week from now, I hope to be able to have 1, or even 2. I miss them and creme brulee.
