  1. as soon as Port Everglades announces a date, either privately or publicly , that they will be open to cruise ships … Princess will have a ship sailing that day to Princess Cays , and maybe St Thomas as it seems they may be in the process of re-opening..

    stay safe

    peace out

What you really NEED to know is that - it does not matter on how many, but it MATTERS is this FACT, and it is enforced by DOT.

Any passenger who called to get refund even if voucher has issued at the first place.

May be you should spend time to learn HOW other travel providers have handled the cancellation / refund, instead of spending time to find excuses for Princess.   At least this may help you to know what things truly matters!

    https://viewfromthewing.com/you-can-get-a-refund-even-if-you-already-accepted-a-voucher-for-a-cancelled-flight/

And below is my friend's personal experience with DL.

    https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/32307959-post177.html

    Excerpt

so I called DL last week to see what was going on. They said they had issued me a voucher for the tickets. I said I did not want a voucher -- I wanted a refund. The agent said she couldn't give me a refund. I said this was against DOT regulations, and asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor immediately issued the refund to the Chase credit card.

Another person got COPA (Flag Carrier of Panama) to refund him promptly after being run around by the airline, and he filed a DOT complaint.  His canceled flights touched US soil.

    Excerpt

I finally opened a DOT complaint and tweeted Copa. Copa then swiftly refunded to Chase/Expedia. A day or so later, Chase/Expedia sent me an email saying the UR points are back in my account.

If your airline canceled your flights, get them to refund to the original form of payment. Chase should then automatically refund you the UR points. This worked for me, I hope it will work for you too.

And this is what DOT says to United when it tries to deceive its customers

    https://viewfromthewing.com/uniteds-new-refund-policy-is-an-unfair-and-deceptive-practice-per-dot-guidance/

The big problem of course is, there is no government overseeing agency on cruise lines.  That is why the passengers now have no protection, other than their credit card issuers if they paid the the trip with credit cards.

Also for you to learn something, should you not know it already.

This may be behind Pay Wall as it is a LA Times article

    https://www.latimes.com/travel/story/2020-04-27/dispute-credit-card-refunds

There, enough information to let you know HOW MANY is NOT the issue here - REFUND IS ISSUED UP REQUEST is what matters.   I am sure anyone has anything above his shoulders would know which is more important.  Although YMMV.

so, you don't know … gotcha

and how many ACTUALLY DOES MATTER !!!

    • Delta serves more than 200 million people every year, taking customers across its industry-leading global network to more than 300 destinations in over 50 countries.
    • Headquartered in Atlanta, Delta offers more than 5,000 daily departures and as many as 15,000 affiliated departures including the premier SkyTeam alliance, of which Delta is a founding member.

smell the roses, blow out the candles ...

    Well said!

This is the part I discovered today right in front of my eyes and is the ugliest, most blatant, most unethical act Princess has done so far - WORSE then the constant lying because this is a corporate release posted on its own website for goodness sake!

From me whose previous life was also a CPA.

as CPA's , how many refunds for services not rendered have you processed ??😉🤑

  5. no 'dog' in hunt … no horse in race … yet

if Princess cancelled the cruise … no question, refunds and FCC should take no longer than 2-4 week - MAX

if you cancelled a cruise …well, get in line … a perhaps long line … but still no longer than 6-8 weeks

anything over 60 days in getting close to "willful gross negligence" and should be subject to punitive damages - say 'triple' the amounts in question..

    e at least 2-3 drinks daily(sodas/alcohol/etc.) t

as previously stated ... that's called "breakfast" ...

about $ 15 pp pd compared to $ 70 drink package

do some voyages not offer Princess Plus, or is it capacity controlled ?

  7. Glass half full - ship half full - max - attempt at social distancing - staff at buffet - no utensils on tables - bread and butter brought around by servers

there WILL be cruises in 2020 - little Caribbean - maybe just to PC, Amber Cove … St Thomas opening back up - others to follow

and west coast cruises to include Encenada (sp)

    baby steps ...

We booked for january 23 2021 but we did that because of the FCC we had to use by the end of 2021 but if we have into 2022 we will most likely cancel until than... we have a March 2021 cruise booked and I am not sure if that will be a go... we are Canadians so we might not be allowed to travel out of country if things are still the same....  😞

if you are not allowed to travel out of your country in 10 months … cruising will be the least of our worries ...

  9. so, with my great wisdom of the inner workings of Princess financial structure, what is happening is that various Princess reps

are working from home, many at the kitchen table, drinking wine, processing the claims for refund whenever they have nothing

else to do … these processed claims then proceed and moved up the ladder ...

At some unknown point, the CFO of Princess will hit the submit button , which is currently under lock and key and will take at

least 2 major officers to enter the code known only to them to unlock that submit button.

so claims for refund "are being processed', just not paid

    seems reasonable, huh ? 🍷🦄🛳️🤑

I do not buy the argument of not allowing them to dock - because they do NOT need to bring the ship to dock, but use tenders or small boats to send the crews to shore - as this HAPPENED on Fri or Sat at Florida - all the American and Canadian crews are sent to shore this way from the TV footage

Emerald Princess was DOCKED at PE/FLL yesterday - I watched it pull out around 5 pm from what looked like terminal 2 from the port webcam and the webcam from Pier 66

First of all, happy "Mother's Day" to all you moms!

yes, from us as well … wow, what a difference a year makes, huh ?

last Mothers Day - at this time - about noon - we had driven down to PE/FLL, checked into the Hilton Marina for a 2 night pre-cruise stay ( something we had never done before ) - and were waiting at the Southport Raw Bar, seated at a nice outdoor table, having lunch,  waiting for the text stating our room was ready ..

this was the little 4 day cruise on the CB after the 'dry/wetdock' to fix the propulsion issues as I remember.  We were very fortunate enough to be able to accept an upsell to a PH suite ! ( again, something we had never done before , and haven't since)

but back to the current day ...

    stay safe

    peace out

They have for several of their ships.  This link has the list of cruise ships who have received approval from the CDC to repatriate crew and staff.  Also shown are the nationalities of the folks who would disembark.  https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/cruise-ship/cruise-ship-member-disembarkations.html?fbclid=IwAR1zIHkkStvCmij5OXTa7Aly4mY9tSsVU_0ZH6Me7GkUTwHo2adIL5urwUU

the Emerald Princess is currently in PE/FLL waiting to leave as I type this - so, it's heading to Canada  -  which has locked down all ports ?  interesting ...
