  1. Gift card credit is NOT refunded. It needs to be returned to the gift card. I hope you have hard copies of the gift card numbers/pins. That is a total nightmare (according to my TA).
  2. Your folio is a complicated one. Did you already start the insurance claim with AON? Much of the above list should be reimbursed as trip interruption. It will take longer than a month as AON communicates with Princess to decide to owes what. I don't know if you are of Medicare age, but that is the first thing that needs to be filed AND denied. It took Medicare 120 days to deny my claim. 60 days to tell me that I needed to resubmit with the itinerary attached. Then another 60 days to tell me that I was "outside" the US and denied the claim. Only then could my personal insurance and AON could start processing my claim. My personal insurance picked up everything Medical. Shortly after submitting what they paid, AON paid the rest.
  3. I am sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction with the lack of response you received from Princess. HAL seems like a better option for this cruise. I travel with a vegetarian room mate. After many cruises, this was suggested to us by another friend. Provide a list of the foods you would like to/can eat. Hand it to your Assistant Manager on the First night. He/she will work menus around your needs. Surprised at how well that worked for a 13 night cruise. She was very happy with the Assistant Manager's recommendations. We rarely used the buffet and found enough to eat at the IC and MDR.
  4. In 2023 ( summer and fall), the Caribbean docked at the new pier (not the one at the base of Old Quebec City). I think it is called Wharf 30. Quebec airport is very, very small. I took a Princess transfer from the ship to the airport. I was surprised how far away it was/seemed to be far. But there are taxis and would guess other ride shares. They do speak French….so be sure to have something printed out…Princess Cruise ship or Terminal address. Keep checking ship schedules for port information. Princess did provide a bus shuttle from the port to a bridge. Short walk to Old Quebec if you visit the city that night or next day. Is it an overnight stay? https://www.portquebec.ca/en/cruises/vessel-schedules/seasonal-schedule
  5. I am no foodie, but have had my share of good Japanese food. The Tempura does not resemble Japanese Tempura. The sushi in the buffet/MDR is not of great quality. To begin with...they use the wrong kind of rice. The teriyaki sauce is not a good blend between sweet and salty. As I have mentioned....get off the ship and eat locally. Lots and lots of markets to wander through and point and buy. Japanese are known for Bento Lunches. Buy a couple different ones and share. Only down side is that it is not hot. It is really easy to dine at restaurants. They have pictures next to the Japanese characters. Japanese pastries are really good too. By the way, you can get good sushi at each port. Not all are topped with raw fish (sashimi). They will have other toppings too: cooked shrimp, egg.... Do your homework and look up menu items onlime.
  6. You can always request for a hand held shower head on the accessibility request area on your app. Use large binder clips. That will weight the curtain down. It works for me, not so much for my sister who still got water all over the bathroom floor.
  7. I have no idea. I've only been in one swimming pool over that past SEVERAL decades. I make one trip up to the Buffet on Lido Deck once per voyage (maybe two). I'm sure others will be able to provide you with that information.
  8. The referenced YouTubers returned several times to their site to follow up on their MSC experience. They were able to do a zoom conference call with corporate who apologized profusely for the misunderstanding. The YouTubers have put this aside and all has been cleared. I am not defending MSC for this latest delay. It was something that was completely out of their control. As stated, the port staff that allowed the Bolivian guests to board is a good place to start. MSC could have required guests on board to clear required documents before the ship arrived (but then it would still have been too late). This reminds me of the long long lines of people trying to clear Covid forms before arriving in Hawaii post pandemic. Or Japan that made us fill out immigration forms for Korea before we got there. This is not as bad as Princess cancelling Sun "inaugural cruiseS" at the last minute. MSC was held up by Spain.
  9. Yes, the Lido Deck midship pool is covered (conservatory).
  10. The Enchanted does not have a forward enclosed observation area. Only on the Majestic.
  11. No, I did not. Much better sashimi and sushi off the ship. So much good food can be found in and around the ports,
  12. I was on the Diamond last Spring. Same minibar options. I am guessing you might be able to trade out for some Japanese beer?
  13. Correct...no difference. Only cabins with wider doors would be accessible cabins. No need for the other staterooms to have a larger door. https://www.google.com/search?q=vista+suite+princess&oq=vista+suite+Princ&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUqBwgAEAAYgAQyBwgAEAAYgAQyBwgBEAAYgAQyBggCEEUYOTIICAMQABgWGB4yCAgEEAAYFhgeMgYIBRBFGDwyBggGEEUYPDIGCAcQRRhBqAIAsAIA&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:a9fbf61f,vid:NfagiatzRds,st:0
  14. Chiming in....I'm not "wow'd". I do hope some from Florida will find this enticing. Thanks for the full Press Release. Ho Hum
  15. OP says they have done the Historic Locks on another cruise line. Still...I would do it again and again and again. The new locks are boring and you can "read" about them or watch youtube videos to get an idea of how they work.
  16. Princess usually will have a historian onboard for enrichment lectures. I do not recall if there is a broadcast during the transit like they do in Glacier Bay. It is a very slow transit and pretty self explanatory if going through the new locks.
  17. Agree that the breakdown is a marketing tool to make the buyer believe they are getting more for their money. It is very deceiving to a newbie. I am 99% sure a TA or PCP or agent will receive a commission for selling a package or bundle. Why else would they graciously offer to add one to your booking when you call in. Or price it in automatically when you book a cruise by default. It says “gift” but is another misnamed information. You bought it, no one “gave” it to you. Finally, you can choose not to use any part of the bundle, but nothing is refundable nor can it be exchanged for OBC.
  18. Glad you have a good resolution. Is your scooter smaller than 22 inches or collapsible? Curious about winning your bid. I only heard (declined) about my (one) bid a day before my cruise. Was your bid accepted right away? Your wife is fortunate to have such a thoughtful husband. Happy cruising.
  19. I just did this cruise (twice) in 2023. Agree: Do not book a hotel in Brooklyn Agree: Book a transfer from cruise terminal to airport or hire a car service for 4 (probably cheaper or at least equal). You haven't mentioned if you have been to NYC before. You don't mention how much luggage you will all have. Taxi's "will" fit 4 (3 in the back 1 in the front) but they are not thrilled to do that. Plus the trunk may not fit all of your luggage. One day in NYC really isn't enough to enjoy the city. There is so much to see and do, although it can get expensive. A possible scenario: Fly in a few days early. Stayed in Manhattan (NYC). Take a car service to Red Hook Pier (at the south end of Manhattan/below Wall Street). Take the Red Hook Ferry from Manhattan to the cruise terminal. Easy walk from Ferry Terminal to Cruise Terminal. Or use a car service to take you from Manhattan to Red Hook ($$$). I did google how much a taxi would be from Red Hook to NYC. Decided the ferry was much more reasonable.
  20. @TomKwuze Thank you for returning to your thread with an update. Your photo was very helpful. But, out of curiosity, did you even try the sleeper sofa (unfolded or converted)? Hope you enjoyed your cruise.
  21. You might be able to edit your post (... in upper right hand corner). I think you meant to write 2024.
  22. The correct name for these cabins are "Reserve Collection Mini-suites". They are not in a FULL Suite Category. A premium stateroom category featuring our best located Mini-Suite staterooms, as well as the great amenities found in all Mini-Suites — plus premier dining benefits and luxurious perks. Each night, enjoy Reserve Dining, an exclusive dining area featuring expedited seating with no wait, expanded menu options, dedicated wait staff and tableside preparations. Other amenities include priority embarkation and disembarkation, a complimentary one-time wine set-up and so much more^ ^Includes one 750 mL bottle of wine on embarkation day. Princess needs to rethink the terminology they use. I apologize for being such a stickler about labels. I am just as guilty as others for sometimes posting inaccurate information. Blame it on the days when I made sure my children knew the difference between Sushi and Sashimi (very long story).
  23. Thank you for a compact review. I was waiting for someone to start this thread. Maybe others on this voyage will also chime in (if you don't mind). With very few ports, it is difficult for Princess to provide an array of entertainers since they could only board in Honolulu (a little more difficult for them to tender them out to the ship in Kona). I agree with you that they should have had more production shows or at least repeat them each week so that more passengers could count on attending them.
  24. Technically, there is NOTHING that is native to the Hawaiian Islands. Everything was brought over by the ocean currents, birds (animals), and Polynesian travelers. Once the islands were discovered, we became a melting pot of cultures and foods from all over the world. So much still to be learned. I am thrilled to hear that you are so knowledgable about the islands. With advance technology, DNA can be traced to the origin of many people/animals/plants.
