  1. We just tell our cabin steward what we want and it's delivered later in the day. However, on our last two cruises bottles of same spirits we had requested on prior cruises were waiting for us. That said, you can tell them to change whatever was delivered. We also tell our steward what mixes and/or sodas we want.
  2. The last time we were in Rome with Regent they used the Westin Excelsior and Marriott. Both near each other and in a great location. We have stayed at both and found them very good.
  3. Buy a nice bottle of wine for dinner with OBC and take Uber or taxi. What Regent charges for transport to airport is ridiculous. A taxi or Uber is less than $30 from cruise terminal to airport in Miami.
  4. Flying keeps on getting more and more unappealing. Buying a "basic busines" ticket which won't be cheap and not being able to get amenities like access to lounge and included luggage will make us travelers very unhappy. I hope airlines reconsider. It's bad enough flying is a hassle nowadays.
  5. The business add on listed for "ultimate cruises with business air is from NY JFK. If you, like most of us, fly from another city there will be a add on charge. The website recommends to do "plan my cruise" to get correct air. I'm glad we booked our next two cruises before July 1st. I think the best thing from now on is to get your own air if you can find a good fare or if you have lots of miles (we don't). The cruise fare alone has gone up also. I can't simply blame the airlines for this increase. I also noticed those included land tours from the past are gone.
  6. Rels whenever you book onboard or a month before cruise or cancel a cruise and Regent transfers the deposits, it shows that deposit has not been paid because it has to be done manually. We have had many cruises in the past which showed deposit needed and had no problem managing the booking. This is new and as usual Regent does not fix it. What irritates me is that the reps have no answers and hang up. At least, the two I spoke with.
  7. I also had the button "manage this booking" disappear. I called Regent and the first agent told me to use Google Chrome. I did and it didn't work. The second one didn't know what I was talking about, told me he couldn't do anything with the account and hung up on me. I just contacted my TA to see what she can do. I have two bookings with this issue. If I click on "booked excursions" I can see my itinerary but not rest of booking (how much money I have on OBC, etc). I couldn't believe an agent hung up on me.
  8. The video just shows a ship like Explorer class with name "Prestige". I don't care for title either and who wants a 900 passenger ship. I doubt it will be as luxurious as Explorer, Splendor or Grandeur.
  9. Thank you Landlubber. I usually get invited to those webinars but I don't recall.
  10. Hudson Landlubber, where did you find this information? I looked at Regent website and all I see if what we received about the changes. Thank you.
  11. Even if you're Platinum (like we are), they don't send leather (not real leather) tags any longer. On our last cruise in April all we received was the tags to deliver luggage to cabin. Maybe if you are brand new Platinum they send the leather tags the first time.
  12. Dear Regent Family, We are excited to offer our new all-inclusive fare options which will offer true personalized all-inclusive luxury, with more ways to tailor your journey to your unique preferences. The all-inclusive fare options will be available for all reservations made from July 1, 2024, but in the meantime we've compiled a list of answers to your frequently asked questions about this upcoming change. This information will help you choose the right fare option for your future Regent voyage. 1. Will these changes impact existing reservations? No, there will be no impact to existing reservations made before June 30, 2024. The new All-inclusive Fare options will only be available beginning July 1, 2024. 2. Will roundtrip air, including business class, still be available when booking? Yes, roundtrip air will continue to be offered on all voyages through the Ultimate All-Inclusive Fare. Guests will be able to view pricing for the Ultimate All-Inclusive fares for all available air classes before booking and choose according to their preference. For our international regions where air is offered, the Ultimate All-Inclusive Fare includes economy class air at time of booking with air upgrades available on request. 3. Is Regent planning to move away from offering included air in its packages? No, Regent remains committed to offering air-inclusive options, including business class, for guests who prefer to book air through us. 4. Will custom air fees still apply? Yes, with the Ultimate All-Inclusive Fare guests will be able to choose their preferred air class at time of booking. However for specific flights, routes and early confirmation guests will still have to go through Regent’s Custom Air Department and fees will apply as they do today. For our international regions where air is offered, the Ultimate All-Inclusive Fare includes economy class air at time of booking with air upgrades available on request. So, if I read this correctly the listed fare for "ultimate" will be economy and if one wants business there will be an upgrade. The bottom line is business class will cost more and there is no air credit when booking "all inclusive". I guess we'll have to wait and see what the cost is. Naturally, there will be a hidden cost for Blacklane. As high as fares are becoming many of us won't be able to cruise Regent any longer. I'm not interested in Caribbean or crossings which are the only less expensive fares.
  13. So does flexibility to use (or ask) for preferred airline means that "deviation cost" will be added to ultimate experience? What about those of us platinum and higher who do not have to pay for deviation? Having Blacklane from airport to ship does nothing for me since we go early and arrange for transportation. This is nothing new other than excuse to raise fares. Pretty soon those of us who are not rich won't be able to cruise with Regent. I miss the old days. The new managers keep on missing what's important to loyal cruisers.
  14. I changed my password but I still don't have "manage this booking". I can see my itinerary if I click on "reserve shore excursions".
  15. I agree with Deep Freeze. It's been an issue since we started cruising with Regent 17 years ago. GMIAC, yes, I have used the Walt Disney World website and never had any issues with it.
  16. Once again the website is gone mad. You would think that for a company that spends so much money on brochures, they could get someone to fix all the problems with website. It seems the "manage this booking" button has disappeared. However, if I click on tours I see show my itinerary at top. I can't book some tours because I get message "there is a conflict with a tour you already booked" even though I haven't booked anything. You would think that by now Regent IT department got its act together.
  17. We just returned from the 18 days Tokyo to Vancouver on the Explorer and found the cruise one of the best. The food and service were outstanding as is typical of Regent. As for the tours, tour companies have had a hard time getting guides after the pandemic. We were told by one of the guides in Japan that the company had a difficult time finding good guides, therefore, they were sending the same guides to different parts of the country. We saw guides we saw in Tokyo in the other Japan ports. This is not Regent's fault. Some tours will be outstanding are others so so. We found the tours good. We are Platinum members and have cruised with Regent multiple times. We didn't find anything to complain about with this cruise. Just go with the flow and enjoy the cruise.
  18. We were on this cruise and it was one of the best. We reconnected with crew members we had not seen in years. The food at all restaurants was very good and so were the choices of wine. A couple of times we didn't care for what they were serving but we had our favorites and they brought to us. Crew service was top notch. We enjoyed the ports in Alaska and Japan. The three days in Tokyo were nice. The Hilton was in a great location and service was excellent. All in all an excellent cruise.
  19. We returned from our cruise last Wednesday. We took a taxi. There were plenty of taxis as we exited with luggage. The porter got the taxi for us. Taxis are cheap and you can pay with credit card. We were staying at hotel for two days and ride was $38 (Canadian) plus tip. Our ride from hotel to airport was $41 (fixed charge) plus tip. A lot easier than calling and waiting for Uber.
  20. We will be joining you a week from Friday. We have the three day precruise in Tokyo next week. Are Alessandro and Vlado still on the ship? We'll love to see them. Two of our favorite people.
  21. Is FDR on this cruise? Is he with family? His son is the president of Oceania so I'm sure they are being treated royally.
  22. Hi everyone, Would anyone on Explorer right now let us know if Alessandro (GM) and Vlado (F&B manager) will be onboard in April? They are onboard right now. They are two of our favorite and will love to see them again in April on our Tokyo to Vancouver cruise. Thanks and continue enjoying your cruises.
  23. We did the precruise in Singapore. It was very good. The hotel was excellent and in a great location. We had a very good guide and got to see a lot of Singapore. We stayed on our own in Sidney after the cruise. It depends which city you'd prefer to see more of. I recommend Singapore and a couple of days in Sidney after the cruise. Either tour is good.
  24. We did this cruise several years ago and they put us up at the JW Marriott in Copacabana overlooking the beach. Then I heard they were going back to the Sheraton. The Sheraton is away from the city but has its own beach.
  25. I don't see how you can find the Explorer "dated". The Explorer, in my opinion, is a beautiful, luxurious ship. The cabin is elegant in my opinion. As to the guides we don't book a cruise for the guides or their language skills. Try to find good guides in US who speak a good foreign language. We are booked on Tokyo to Vancouver cruise next year and looking forward to it. Regent is definitely not for you. Enjoy other cruise lines who meet your expectations.
