  1. First day is usually hectic for the room steward and We're not in a Neptune suite, just a Vista A.
  2. We usually bring champagne on board for sail away (most of the time lately it's been in the room on other cruise lines). As I said it's for sail away. I have read that HAL charges a $20 corkage fee now. Will I find a bucket of ice in my cabin (Vista A on Rotterdam) and champagne glasses? Or will I have to go searching or bothering the room steward for these?

What's the best place to purchase a wheel of gouda cheese?
  4. If you've printed it out before the bar code is on it, can you still print it out later? Can I ask why they bother to print out the boarding pass without the bar code? Why don't they just wait?
  5. Thanks for your review. We'll be on Rotterdam at the end of this month; I really enjoyed your review.
  6. I've only seen photos of Club Orange. We'll be on Rotterdam with CO. If there's a line going into the dining room, do the folks waiting in line peer into CO as you're eating?
  7. I'd love a 10:00 time for sea days. Especially since they don't do lunch. We could sleep in another half hour.
  8. Never mind. I got in. That was scary!
  9. I went to log into my upcoming cruise as I do periodically. It says it's not there! I recall reading of this happening to others, but I never paid much attention since it did not happen to me. Does this happen often, or should I be worried.?
  10. One time when we were in Aruba (on a HAL cruise) we purchased a wheel of Gouda cheese. DH says he would like to buy it again. Has anyone done this recently:? Does Hal allow the cheese onboard (it would be encased in the red wrapper.) Another thing, I don't know it irequires refrigeration. Anyone know? I seem to recall us either putting it in our refrigerator or did the room steward offer to store it for us. It was a while ago....cannot recall.
  11. How do you know where your meeting point is if you don't have a smart phone, and there are no more paper excursion tickets.?
  12. I got one this morning, and I was worrried too. I emailed my TA, checked Google, and here. Fortunately, someone on my roll call put my mind at ease.
  13. On HAL's website it stated that our cruise docs would be availabe on Oct. 10. Saturday, Oct. 7, I was able to print out our board pass (the one without the bar code). Didn't see docs then and don't see them now. Do they come separate from the boarding pass. So many questions, I know. However, I haven't been on HAL for a while and things are different now.
  14. On Holland's website, it states you must present your boarding pass and express docs. upon check in. Do you really have to print out your docs? I haven't been on HAL for many years, but other lines just require your boarding pass (passport, credit card too). Is this accurate?
  15. If two people in cabin, do you get two?
  16. OK, you are right. I see it in very small print. In Larger Print at the top of page 2 it also says" "You can use this paper copy at the pier or the digital boarding pass in the Holland America Line Navigator appl"
  17. Well, you are a very experienced cruiser and if you made this "mistake" I am sure other did also. BTW we met you many years ago on a cruise on Eurodam. There was a young girl (about 20) who had organized a chocolate-lovers party. Her name here was "Purple Norway";. Do you know what happened to her?
  18. What would have happened, I wonder, if you didn't have loaded the Navigator App and only had the Early version of the Boarding Pass?
  19. Just printed our boarding passes. Isn't it supposed to have a bar code?
  20. I have just printed boarding passes for DH and I (today). We also have "to be assigned" under time. Also, I remember reading that the pass is supposed to have a bar code. I don't see one. ???
