  1. https://www.cruisehive.com/bar-harbor-gets-approval-to-radically-limit-cruise-ship-passengers/124962?fbclid=IwAR1RynytVy9Jkr14eBkg354p-hX482is6OxCSgSjJEnKGVxkxgZUjeP4vv8#lta4jvd6j223k5foqt In a landmark ruling, the picturesque town of Bar Harbor, Maine, has secured the right to implement a daily cap of 1,000 passengers from cruise ships, aiming to balance tourism with environmental and community well-being.
  2. Every cruise we have taken from there as far back as 2011 has been sold out
  3. Thanks! I booked it thru the "ParkWhiz" App.... The parking lot is "1 Black Falcon Ave +16174822487 When I called the guy said you don't need to make a reservation..... I laughed to myself thinking I've heard that one before. The lot looks like it might hold 200 cars
  4. Trying to figure out where the baggage drop off is at the terminal. Looking at Google Street View I'm assuming you can pull over at "Terminal 2" ? My plan is to drop our bags off with my wife, and then drive down to Parking at "C" lot and walk back to check it. I already made reservations and paid for the parking
  5. Why do you think NYC is part of the problem? Other than the parking is more expensive than going out of NJ. Wife and I have cruise out of NYC 5 times and love it. Its a very convenient drive for us from PA. Easy (but expensive) parking right next to the ship. Great view of the skyline going down the river. I have looked at RC, prices are pretty much the same
  6. The "Priority" disembarkation for Platinum etc.... is bogus. Suite and Haven cabins get off first
  7. My wife and I are both Sapphire. In the past one of our tier benefits was two dinners. I forget what two restaurants it was but I could have sworn they were named. Now under the listing it says Dinner for two with a bottle of wine and then a few lines down Dinner for two. However it gives no mention of where we can dine for free. We will be sailing the Gem
  8. The Jewel class ships have a very small Haven Courtyard. Suite guest on Jewel class ships get all the perks of Haven guest with the exception of 2? things. Use of the Haven courtyard and use of the Haven sundeck. Butler service, concierge etc.... is all the same. Suites on Jewel class ship can be considerably cheaper. My wife and I booked a forward suite on the Gem for Bermuda. It was 2K cheaper than the smallest Haven cabin
  9. My wife and I have a forward suite on deck the Gem deck 10. From pictures the balcony is huge, small table, two chairs and two loungers. We would like to have dinner out there (while in port) with two friends. Will the butler set up a table for 4 of us on the balcony or is that asking too much. We have a small table in the cabin with four chairs but the table is pretty small
  10. My wife and I decided to sail again to Bermuda in June. We opted to go out of Boston instead of NYC. Its a 5 hour drive compared to 90 minutes but we love the Jewel class ships
  11. I've seen some people do some pretty gross things at the buffet. The worse is one someone picks up a piece of food, usually something baked. They sniff it and put it back......🤢 If you touch food you own it, it doesn't get put back
  12. No, unfortunately I can't unsee it LOL I would have liked to see the look on my face
  13. I miss the winters when they have two ships sailing full time. One doing a 7-10 day and another doing 12-14 days.
  14. True story, saw a women at the buffet on a cruise a few years ago. Her friend needed her cabin card, the women pulled her card out from her bathing suite bottom, the card was in the crack of her butt 🤢
  15. It really is, people are filthy animals
  16. Not to someone I'm talking on the phone to 🤣
  17. Gifts? They are working at their job
  18. Assuming you are driving and parking at the port. You will go up the ramp to the parking lot. Pay and go down to the pier, turn into the parking area and security will be there to look in your trunk or hatch. As soon as you are cleared their is an area you can pull over, porters are there to put your baggage on carts and take them down stairs. Go park and make your way down to the security and check in
  19. If you are not in the Haven Vibe is the next best thing....
  20. Flip a coin. Been to Bermuda 4 times on cruises with NCL. Twice getting on and off was paused for 30 minutes to rotate the ship 180 degrees part way thru the 3 days there
  21. Lots of things to consider, you might want to do some mock bookings to see how many cabins are left. Low bids usually lose out in the Haven
  22. I catch a lot of them during the summer (Dolphin) they fight like heck and taste great
