  1. I just learned that RKACruiser passed away recently. I came across a post in Floataway Lounge, noticing that he had not posted for a while, and then was led to the HAL board, where it was confirmed within Navigate the World with Bill & Mary Ann, December 30. His wisdom, and his wide-ranging interests and knowledge, will be missed. I always considered him a true gentleman.
  2. My husband's insistence on taking his tuxedo on every cruise is what keeps me upping my game! No chance I could get away with any kind of casual on those nights. And I do enjoy it.
  3. It has been called Formal on all four RC cruises we've done this year, except one time when a third one was added during the cruise, and called Dress Your Best.
  4. Some cabins will have the bed facing "sideways" as well: my head is towards the window, my feet are towards the entrance door. Would that be a problem?
  5. From time to time I see a post about taking a juicer, or coffee maker, or other cooking device on a cruise. More interestingly, when departing the terminal at the end, I always see rice cookers, blenders, and other things on the Reclaim Table, along with lots of irons. Is there a device you can't cruise without? How do you use it? Was it ever confiscated? And what items have you seen that others took but didn't get to use?

    OJ

After years of making do with the OJ and other juices available, I recently started treating myself to fresh-squeezed OJ. Yum! A recent post asks about taking a juicer onboard to make one's own, followed by lots of back-and-forth pros and cons and suggestions. How do you like your morning juice? And what, besides orange, do you like?
  7. I'm curious what is meant by "sport shoes". Sneakers? Anything with a tread that could hold dirt? Flip flops? Sandals? Shoes with cleats?
  8. We love TAs.....except for the flights toi/from. IMO, one of the best aspects of the many sea days is the fact that no one goes ashore (duh), so meals and activities are well-attended, for those who want to participate, and most importantly, evenings are quite festive, with everyone having the time and energy to dress, dance, enjoy a leisurely dinner and conversation with tablemates.
  9. No, I am not a swimsuit person, nor did I need any tennis shorts and such. I used to go to Dick's when I was an aerobics instructor, but I no longer need any of that. It was interesting seeing the store, though.
  10. We thought it was quite easy. We just went to the restaurant we wanted, during the day, and made a reservation. We were not YC. We thought the tasting menu was fine; we had no need to ask for any substitutes.
  11. I thought the fresh-squeezed OJ was delicious. Well worth one of my D+ vouchers. On another note, Yes, let's start a post about things seen on the naughty table at the end of a cruise.
  12. We just went by a Dick's clearance store, and decided to go in. They had hundreds of $3 items, plus many racks of $5, $7, etc.
  13. If you are ever at the spot, and the silver door opens, stick around. You will be treated to the lovely aroma of just-baked bread just inside that door. I'm enjoying your posts.
  14. We sailed in Bella (the lowest category), had excellent cruises, and will do so again.
  15. I wouldn't call the item in the photo an English muffin, as it doesn't seem to have the "nooks and crannies" we are used to. It does look like raisin bread, though, but in individual roll form.
  16. There is a big Dick's clearance store in our area, as well as the full price locations.
  17. We have done so a number of times on RC and X, and in one case, the crew member told us she had just received notification of it on her phone.
  18. The dogs are pretty low-key. Easy to miss, especially if you are focused on holding your passport or whatever.
  19. We were once pulled out of the line waiting to check in, at our home airport; told that if we agreed to a baggage search we could jump the line and they would prioritize us. We agreed. We were taken to a separate area, where our bags were somewhat thoroughly searched; enough to wrinkle my linen slacks. Why us? Maybe being ordinary-looking is what the bad guys strive for. Maybe they just wanted to stay busy, or practice doing searches.
  20. The dog walks up the line in Immigration/Customs, so self-assist bags are sniffed, as well as the ones piled up in the terminal.
  21. It's a shame you are at a big table with no tablemates. That has happened to us, but we are a twosome, and usually the waiter has told us there are 6 other people booked there.....but they never show up. The right company can make for an even better dinnertime! I love the children's menu brownie! I order it several times on every Enchantment cruise. Enjoy your Nassau day. We are watching you arrive on the webcam.
  22. November 11 of this year was our most recent disembarkation. That was our fourth cruise in 2022. Our only "delays" were all of 2020 and 2021. We plan to try to make up for lost time, starting in March.
  23. Re the heat: the few posts I've seen have been from folks on decks 7 and 8, which makes me think someone has not locked their balcony door, or has opened it too often. That messes with the heat in a number of surrounding cabins.
  24. Having been on Enchantment recently, the bathroom looks exactly like ours. However, all the photos look narrower than reality, which I can tell from the bed size. It is much wider than shown in the photo, which makes me think it is just a photo element. No blame on the poster! At least by the time I see it, the translation skews reality a bit. We always stay in a similar cabin, and find them quite suitable, even for two of us. OP, I am enjoying your posts! Please keep up the good work, but don't let it take away from your fun time!
