  1. Ours had just boarded, so it looks like the Sky gets to enjoy quality Cruise Director crew!
  2. When we were on the Sky this last June, the Cruise Director and his team were delightful and most likely the best we have experienced! wish I could remember his name. @Host CJSKIDS I know you will fill us in on those details and have a great time! It is always such a relief to finally be on the ship and kicking back.
  3. I agree that the fares for domestic flights are not really any different, so we use our Alaska miles or accumulate them with Alaska. EZ Air is definitely worth it for Europe (at least for us on the West Coast). The only issue we have had is that the flights and airlines may change and you need to keep an eye on that, due to the changes may not work for you.
  4. @Host CJSKIDS Thank you for sharing with us. DH and I were on the Sky this past June and really enjoyed this ship! We were a bit leery because it is one of the newer ones and we so loved the Golden, Crown and Regal. When we walked on, our first impressions were, WOW! What a gorgeous ship. We will be on the Sky in June ad are looking forward to your impressions.
  5. Thank you for the more detailed explanation.
  6. I do not find it costly at all. I bring a few "sheets" of laundry soap and a few dryer sheets big deal
  7. Interesting. Boarding in Southampton last June was a breeze. Yes, I realize this is a different port and country. OTOH- boarding in Vancouver, BC in September 2022, took an eternity of weaving back and forth with repetitive checkpoints.
  8. Depending on the ship, there may be 2-3 "specialty" dining venues. Most/ many are quite happy with the "regular" dining rooms and in which we have enjoyed mostly very good meals and service. A few times, we were gifted dinners in The Crown Grill and have enjoyed Alfredo's which is now a charged venue, or included a few times in Princess Plus or Premier. We love that Princess has self-serve laundry rooms. Also, there are irons in each one so you can do some touching up.
  9. Just a note; a Princess transfer from LAX is to the ship is only available on departure day and not the day before.
  10. Will you also invalidate my comment about loving the Regal?
  11. As stated, these incidents were in Honfleur and Bayeux, not Normandy. This was our first ever visit to anywhere in France. This was our experience and not YOURS! And you stated it was due to other people's comments. Not so. We had a complete open mind. I guess you consider yourself omnipotent and can be a part of my experiences.
  12. What ship? Can you not book your own cabin? What else is available?
  13. We cruised with our adult daughters... We had a balcony and they had an inside just across the hall from us. It worked out great! Four adults in one cabin... No thanks.
  14. Exactly!!! That is why we cancelled our Trans Pacific for this last March! Testing before we boarded was ridiculous after a very long flight! Forget that!
  15. Well, we did. A restaurant was very rude and the stores in in our last stop pretended they did not speak English to avoid a sale. We knew they spoke English with other customers.
  16. We also toured with Overlord Tours in May 2022 and they were fantastic! However, the contempt for Americans was quite intense in Honfleur and Bayeux. We were quite taken aback, but encourage people to go with Overlord Tours.
  17. @skynight has well stated your options. You may visit the children's area if you accompany your 2 year old. Princess has some info on this on their website.
  18. our Virgin Atlantic flight was also a "code share" and booked through Delta but was on Virgin Atlantic metal.
  19. It also took us quite a while to be ticketed. Booking through a TA has nothing to do with it. We were also on Virgin Atlantic for the flight from SeaTac to LHR. We were in Premium Economy and would book with them again and did not care for BA for our return flight.
  20. You will receive many opinions. We are balcony people and do use ours. We like the larger aft balconies and that is where we book. The views are fantastic!
  21. It is more helpful to ask these questions on the British Isles board.
