Thank you! We also book those which are refundable of the ship can't make if. There really are not a huge number of four companies in Iceland and 3 of our booked tours are pay on arrival and we had to make full payment with just one. So I am surprised at their predicament.

I understand that. However, I was specifically referring to what @mmiicc had posted in reference specifically to the Iceland ports.

I am so sorry for this. However, we have learned that if at all possible, we do not pre-pay for the excursion. We are also booked on the Sky for June 3 and have booked 4 non- Princess shore excursions for Iceland and only one asked for payment. The other 3 are Pay on Arrival.

In our opinion and experience, the Plus is well worth it. We do not worry about how many fancy espresso drinks we get, how many glasses of wine that we may select, gratuities are paid and we have our WiFi which has typically worked well for us. Then we are free to tip extra when and where we choose, in cash, to some crew members. There are numerous threads and "discussions" regarding the worthiness of Plus. @JimmyVWine did an incredible job on his recent thread about being on the Regal and British Isles. His final "tally" was very scientific!

Yup! I also began a thread "Princess Plus Frustration". On the Princess website it says that if you are booked with Plus or Premium, the fee is waived. Right. I was told some crazy gobbly goop that we had the "Old Princess Plus" and would therefore not be eligible! And good old "Mario" said that we would also be limited to $12.00 drinks. WRONG!!!

This looks like a nice sized covered angled balcony. If you do a search for the Majestic Princess and look at the category "Images" you will be able to check it out. There is also YouTube; a great resource. Obviously, this cabin is 2 decks lower, but you get the idea.After taking a look, the balcony appears on the smaller side. We usually book the aft larger balconies. But you may not be an aft person. We will have D728 on the Sky which will also include a loveseat and a large half covered balcony.

Bummer. We will be on the Sky Princess. But that is a great thing, right?

Currently, we are at home on land. We board the Sky Princess June 3.

There are no port guarantees on ANY cruise or with ANY cruise line. Mother Nature is in charge. Also, there is the issue of humans having medical issues and crew and/ or passengers jumping overboard! We were going to miss the port of Rhodes, due to a crew member jumping overboard. This is not unique to one cruise line. This happened on the Celebrity Reflection. Maritime law requires that all ships in the area pause their routes and do a search. Sadly, the person was not found. However, the merchants in Rhodes stayed open late and we enjoyed a few hours there, when originally the Captain said that the port would be missed.

Last September, we were able to disembark at 7:30 am but this was for walkouts with their own luggage.

Good grief! Is that the end? One of my favorite bits is paragraph two in post #109. I became teary eyed. We have two daughters and the oldest ate most of the salsa at a Mexican restaurant at Lake Tahoe when she was 2 and a half years old. My father loved that. She was 3 when we had a get together at a French restaurant in San Francisco and she behaved like a little lady. I love cooking and am the proud owner of a beautiful cookbook that is autographed by Vincent Price. Who knew, right? BTW- we all love artichokes. The only negative of your thread is that we have to wait for your next cruise!!! Also, your mathematical breakdowns regarding Plus, Premium and No Plus will hopefully be very informative for all Princess cruisers who have these questions and are bewildered.

Nice! I am.looking forward to some great vegan dishes on the Sky beginning June 3. I love mushrooms so we shall see. Someone posted a menu that had some yummy looking dishes.

Thank you for the lovely photos. I worked as Activity Director in an active Retirement Community in the Portland, OR area in 1995- 1997. Virginia Butchart lived there and she was a nice lady. She was originally from our Portland suburb and would tell us about marrying into the Butchart family. It was created from a cement "mine"! Unbelievable. My favorites are the dinner plate dahlias in September.

The HOT tubs are never hot enough. On Princess, they should be called warm tubs.

I just wish that they would broaden their horizons from Indian food and eggplant. I am allergic to eggplant.

The suggestion of Princess Plus and adding to their OBC are great. Just make sure it would be refundable OBC (onboard credit).

Can you afford to upgrade them to a balcony cabin? It would be nice to know the ship that will be on. Hasn't final payment been made and are they working with a travel agent?
