  1. Thanks for the clue regarding the Whispering Angel Rose'. We also have the "Old Plus" for this June on the Sky and I will be trying it. It is currently at our Total Wine in Olympia, WA for $17.97.
  2. Strange; we felt very cramped on the Coral.
  3. We LOVE the Grand! We sailed on her last September roundtrip Vancouver, BC for Alaska. The ports and crew were great!
  4. Great suggestions, however, IMHO Hubbard Glacier is our favorite and a well kept secret. Princess does a fabulous job in Alaska with nature lecturers onboard. You can see that we have been 5 times. Yikes!
  5. I looked at the deck plans and pics of the aft of the ship. I think it will be ok. Your cabin does not not look like it is directly over the main part of the Vista Lounge. If you decide to change cabins, make sure that you are not below a public area like a pool deck, Horizon Court, etc.
  6. Have a great time. we love the Regal!
  7. @JimmyVWine Thanks for thinking of all of us and detailing your adventure. We loved the Regal when we were on her in September 2018. I trust you and family will also enjoy. Thanks for sharing about the distances and practicality of getting to the port. We will now for sure be getting a cab when we board the Sky this June. You know we are looking forward to your wine adventures!
  8. @superduper123 I forgot to mention about the balconies. Not all balconies are created equal. We are always careful to book a balcony cabin with one of the larger balconies. You can see them on the deck plans of the Princess website.
  9. I can only share our experiences with Celebrity (2X) and Princess (8X). We feel "at home" on Princess for numerous reasons. Are they perfect? Of course not. However, our last Celebrity cruise was pre-covid; snooty describes the crew and atmosphere. Our cabin steward was a sweetie and we tipped him extra. The food was quite mediocre with no caring about flies all over the buffet area. The entertainment was quite repetitive (each show had acrobatics from the ceiling).
  10. We loved the Golden, but it was sold. Our favorites have been the Regal, Grand, and Crown. Many adore the Coral, but we were not fans of the design of the ship for various reasons.
  11. We loved Guernsey! We had booked a walking tour with a local and enjoyed seeing Victor Hugo's house where he was exiled for 14 years and wrote Les Miserables. Also, DH took a photo of me sitting on a bench next to the bronze statue of Victor Hugo.
  12. Thanks for sharing that interesting point. Nobody charges a fee for using cash in the US.
  13. We have enjoyed one Chef's Table; on the Grand last September. As far as I know, you can tell them of allergies, but I do not think they would be as cooperative excluding meat or poultry. But, who knows?
  14. Have you ever owned and operated your own business? I have also actually also experienced not receiving gratuities from credit cards. Just because something is a law, does not it is abided by or enforced, as we all.well know.
  15. You are probably aware that you can see Stonehenge on the way to the port or on your return. This depends on your flights and times. Princess offers transfers accordingly as well as private companies.
  16. Plastic is served outdoors, by the pool, etc. I am with you and despise plastic. it is just not right. However, if I must have a drink ordered at an outdoor bar, then it is what it is. BTW- if you order a drink in the buffet, be aware that it may be served in plastic because the outdoor bar is close by.
  17. Did you not read post #9? The vendor/ business takes the hit. Even so, we typically use credit cards for everything except tipping and a few small purchases at a grocery store. When you tip in a restaurant, hopefully the server will receive the gratuity.
  18. A true certified Sommelier would know about wines, glassware, and proper service. Apparently, it appears to just be an assigned job title on Princess.
  19. Thank you for mentioning the fee which is charged to the business, NOT the customer. Most people do not know that the business/ vendor PAYS for YOUR airline miles and rewards... NOT the bank! And they also have a service fee percentage attached to that. DH and I have a small business.
  20. You may call Princess and ask to talk with the EZAir department. People often do not return to their starting point. For example, we may depart from SEA and return to PDX. Princess offers transfers the "day of" embarkation and disembarkation. If you booked with a TA, then you will need to call your TA to make reservations for the transfer.
  21. Just do the math. It is always worth it for us and hubby does not drink alcohol. But he loves his hot cocoa made with almond milk from the International Cafe, , herbal tea, fresh squeezed OJ and maybe a Virgin Pina Colada. Most people always say, "Oh, I do not drink alcohol", but if you do the math on the different aspects which are included, then it is a no brainer for us because we like our WiFi and tipping as well as tipping the crew.
  22. When we did our British Isles cruise, I ordered some GBP and Euros from our bank. There was a small fee. I estimated what we would need foe gratuities for hotel staff in London, for tour guides onshore and tips for transfers. We tipped extra in US cash for our cabin steward and bartenders.
  23. That is what I just said..... Cruise lines habe cash flow issues.
  24. So far, we have been fine in WA State and Oregon in reference to wines.
