  1. No problem. Where in California are you? My first 28 years were in S. CA
  2. I had so very much hoped that this "supply chain issue" would pass; blaming it on covid and all. However, it now appears to be a "cash chain issue" on the part of Princess. We had the shortages on two cruises last year and were willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. Now, not so much. Does anyone know if other cruise passengers are also having the same experiences?
  3. I am glad the Princess transfer from Victoria Station worked well for you. I think I had made the suggestion. We will be using it from the port to LHR this June for our Norway and Iceland cruise on the Sky. I hope you are enjoying the Regal as it is one of our favorite ships.
  4. Thanks for your clarification. We do the same as well.
  5. It is/ was NOT a myth. We began cruising with Princess in 2003 and have cruised with them many times, and this WAS the case and confirmed by talking with crew. As @wowzz has stated, it has now changed.
  6. Thanks @Lady Arwen - I am grateful to be offered choices and act on what is best for us. We do the math each time and move forward. And of course I trust Princess is making a profit otherwise there would be no Princess.
  7. Thanks @wowzz I appreciate the information .
  8. E-mail your hotel and ask if they have shuttle service to the port. Otherwise, you can ask them to call a cab for you that morning. Your second paragraph was a bit confusing.
  9. Go to the Princess board and learn about how to book your flights from LHR to Rome. Princess offers a bus from Southampton to LHR which is $59.00 per person and very worthwhile. Look at your cruises on the Princess website and go to the Flights tab.
  10. Just know that if you remove the daily automatic gratuities from your bill, that your cabin steward is not permitted to keep what you have tipped them.
  11. Yes! Washington State is quickly be coming the new "Napa/ Sonoma. There is a separate section at Total Wine with WA wines and I have found many I like; of all budget requirements.
  12. I also enjoyed Old Town and took MANY photos of the fabulous architecture and doors!
  13. It sure would be nice if food establishments in the states were as conscientious and pro-active regarding food allergies and diet preferences.
  14. If you use a TA, then they could help you. Many have made suggestions. We cruised the British Isles last May on Princess and the itinerary was fabulous. If you go to the websites of each cruise line in which you are interested, then you will find what you are looking for. The Regal Princess is doing this itinerary through 2024. The Regal is one of our favorite ships.
  15. We enjoyed a British Isles itinerary last May. Since you are on the east coast, maybe you will not be as fatigued as we were flying in from the west coast (SEA). However, we had 3 nights to enjoy London. If you arrive one day before boarding, I would seriously consider getting a transfer from LHR to Southampton and soaking up the town, get rested and then board the next day. The fares could easily be split by sharing a car with Blackberry Cabs or West Quay Cars. We are doing that in June for a cruise from Southampton.
  16. Agreed, Hubbard Glacier is still our favorite!!!
  17. Shoot, I spelled "Publix" incorrectly!
  18. Sadly, there is no Public on the west coast, so we rely on other means to find diverse wines.
  19. Hi @wowzz if you snow bird in Florida, have you been able to visit a Total Wine store? That may help with the variety you are seeking. I am one those from the USA who loves exploring wine from other countries. Many years ago, I worked in an Italian restaurant in Oregon. Holy cow!!! The owner was a gem and only Italian wines were available. I learned so much about wine and learned to love the wines we served... In Reidel glasses I may note!
  20. We did a British Isles itinerary last May and loved it (Princess). We flew from Seatac to London and stayed 3 nights. Basically, all of my needed information was from this board and from my Roll Call. We do not care for the "modern" look in hotels so we booked The Rookery which also has two sister hotels. The staff was amazing. helpful, and friendly. We used Blackberry Cars for our transfer from LHR to our hotel. WE took the "tube" to get to places for sightseeing and also used a couple of HOHO buses. For boarding day, we had booked the Princess transfer from Victoria Station to the port in Southampton. A cab efficiently delivered us from the hotel to Victoria Station. My suggestion is to read as much as possible on this board and ask your Roll Call members about shore excursions. We are also doing a Norway and Iceland itinerary this June and have a very active Roll Call. I suggest you book your excursions ASAP as the seem to have limited availability in those corners of the world. Have a great time!
  21. Thank you so much for reporting back to all of us. It is appreciated and please have a fantastic time!
  22. The Love Boat Dream is NOT what it used to be. We never order it now.
  23. @SCX22- If you had booked the other cabin and also wanted to open the divider and told no; how would you feel? After all, you are a paying customer and did not know that it is a RACE?!?!?! That is why I stated in Post 3, that you could be possibly sharing the space.
