  1. HIA maximises the number of days credit much better than on board spend. Presuming you were on a 14 day cruise, then with HIA you will be credited 14 days 'spend' credits. For On board spend to be a similar level you would need to spend $4200 to earn the 14 days 'spend' credits. 14 days is the maximum that you can earn on a 14 day cruise. HIA on a 14 day cruise costs $700 (each for first two occupants). A suite would give another 14 days. To my way of thinking a suite and HIA would gain optimum number of 'days' at the best price.
  2. He did say Deck 6, but I lost count when the cam zoomed in. But that is either 5 and 6 or 6 and 7
  3. Those Dutchies must be doing back to backs as they were on her last week with the flag
  4. There is also the option of Oosterdam on June 11th 2023, from Trieste, calling to Ashdod, Haifa, Limasol, Rodos, and others, before returning to Trieste. 12 days.
  5. If you received an email saying that they now require a medically observed test, then I would respectfully suggest that you follow the requirement or expect to be denied boarding. To me it seems like they have strengthened the requirements and that is why you received an email with updated requirements.
  6. Are these cruises after 1st February when the new Gratuity rate applies? Maybe their cutting edge technology 🙄 cannot manage current rate and future rate.
  7. You will be assigned an embarkation time by HAL. You should be able to check in online now using 'Already Booked > Manage My Bookings' on the HAL website. https://www.hollandamerica.com/en_US/log-in/sso-log-in.html?login=sf Enjoy your cruise!
  8. If Amsterdam Schiphol airport is anything close to the same staffing situation as it is this year, then I would not be excited, but terrified! 🤫
  9. Perhaps that explains why I received a notification on the Navigator App earlier today asking if we were ready for our adventure ashore? The shore excursion was scheduled for September 8th 2022 - yes, nearly 3 months ago. 😭
  10. We were looking forward to Lerwick on our September Rotterdam cruise, but we had to skip it because of the conditions. Disappointing, but it is what it is, and it is a tender port
  11. To me, this means that you do not have pre paid tips/gratuities/hotel charge/crew appreciation or whatever. Two places that you can confirm if they are included in your booking are: 1/ On the PDF Booking Confirmation from HAL, on page 3 under the heading "Special Services" will be a list of your promo items for the cruise. For example: This indicates, that Guest 1 & 2 in the stateroom have Wifi, Beverage Pack etc, and as you can see, Crew Appreciation is listed. 2/ The second place to see it is within 'Manage Booking' on the HAL website. If you log into 'Manage Booking', and select 'Itinerary' it shows (again, as an example): If it is not in either, then I would be concerned that it is not included in the booking.
  12. Two large hooks on Rotterdam and we used magnetic hooks too for Norway cruise.
  13. This is a great system, but how do you make provision for Guarantee bookings? 10% of total bookings? 25% of total bookings? 50% of unallocated cabins? It may work if used after Guarantees have been allocated.
  14. 6094 is port side, just forward of the midship bulge. The late afternoon sun made viewing a bit difficult, except for the close up on the couple with the Dutch flag.
  15. 5 hour time difference with Florida has its advantages, sometimes!
  16. The image is a bit blurry (or is it my eyes?). Perhaps the webcam lens needs cleaning.
