I think some of this depends on where you plan to spend the majority of your time. Casinos, restaurants, bars.. I wouldn’t upgrade. But pools, waterworks, lido etc I’d move to 14. We have a suite booked on 14 and we picked it for location and closeness to the pool/water works for our kids.

But can you still do a mock booking for your cruise on the Carnival website? Dry dock sounds unlikely given when the ship last had one. But maybe they plan on moving the ships around? It can’t hurt to call.

I’m not particular to one side or the other but I guess I seem to book port more often. We’re Port on the MG but we had to go with the location of the 4 person cabin category we wanted.

Yeah, that’s too bad. I know at one point it was a nice hotel. But they have to keep up with it. I’m kind of a hotel snob after working for hotels through college and I just won’t compromise or take a risk. It’s too bad really.. -

I’ve changed cruises, but it’s not a casino offer. I typically book early saver and I have moved cruises a few times. You have to pay a penalty of like $200 maybe but everything else transfers. Like if you’ve already bought cheers, or water delivered to the room etc. and your booking number remains the same.

It’s there but I cannot add it to my cart. And when I go through my booking and look in shore excursions it’s not listed.

I guess I really don’t mind these changes. I don’t eat ice cream in the middle of the night, I’ve never ordered 3 entrees, and I guess the steak house rise in prices kind of sucks but I also get it. Inflating and costs are so bad right now, something has to give.

I think from what I read it just sounds like they scan your license plate and send you a bill in the mail. It’s how the Kentucky one on I65 works as well.

Honestly, I think it depends on your cruising style. But I think I personally would vote for the lido interior because it’s so much closer to everything. Deck 1 just seems so far from literally everything. -
Thank you! I appreciate that info. I’m used to driving in Chicago, so it’s the same deal there. You can go around tolls and save time or really screw up your drive, depends on the day.

I’m wondering the same. We’re in a suite, and I just want to plan accordingly and pick the correct arrival time. We will be early to the port but don’t want to be too early. -
Yes, Waze wants me to go through town 59 to I45. We would likely go through mid day. Looking at the map, Texarkana looks like a good stopping point to spend the night so we would have a few hours drive in the morning to get to Houston, which would hopefully avoid rush hour.

I’m not sure, but I think the books were given out on the Mardi Gras for the whole inaugural season.

I really doubt it. I know Carnival is still struggling post pandemic to turn a profit and I feel like alcohol is probably the one thing they make the most money off of.
