  1. https://www.cruisedeckplans.com/DP/deckplans/cruiseline.php?line=Princess Info on cabin obstructions here. If check the deckplans, and search for photos of the ships, the cabins may be similar on other Royal class ships. So you might be able to look at other ships not just Enchanted if a particular cabin has no info.
  2. Depending on the cabin, there may not be room for it. Some cabins have sofas or loveseats. There are semi reclining chairs on the balcony - maybe bring that inside? You can kinda see the chairs with the reclining brackets in this pic.
  3. We were on Enchanted in March. Beautiful ship. The bartenders could make anything they had the ingredients for and that they knew how to make. NONE of the Royal class ships have milkshakes. They just don't have the hard icecream OR the blenders. No idea why. Not at Swirls and not at Gelatos. We've tried on Royal, Regal and Enchanted. You can try to get soft ice cream and take it to a bar and ask them to put it in the blender but to me it was not worth it. The soft ice cream at Swirls tasted pretty cheap too. At breakfast on the buffet they had some fruit or veg smoothies set out. Otherwise no smoothies that we saw. You can try to take some fruit from buffet to a bar and ask them to blend it but otherwise that is it. Folks have reported they can use the app to order any drinks that are in the app for delivery anywhere, including cabin, and no charge (tip the delivery staff) if they have a package. We didn't try. I do not think the traditional room service menu on the tv has drinks. Retreat pool is for all. It is outside the Sanctuary. It is windy in that area. But with the additional cabins up there, taking away from sundeck space, we found all the pool areas very crowded as compared to Royal and Regal. Too many people and not enough space. And Enchanted was well below capacity in March. Enclave in the spa is usually sold as a week long pass only. Onboard you may be able to beg for a one day pass if they didn't sell a lot of week long ones, but not likely. I've never heard of a half day Enclave or Thermal suite pass. Some spa treatments (Massage) may permit you to use Enclave for a short time before but you'd have to ask. Photo of retreat pool area attached.
  4. Princess has allowed children, and charged a reduced price, in the specialty restaurants for the past 20 years that we've been cruising them. We've taken our kids to Crown Grill at least once on each of our annual cruises. They loved it and its been great!
  5. Enchanted did NOT have this nonsense in March. I will be packing tape to cover all the sensors for sure. I too hate that the closet light and the over bed light are on the same switch. Never used to be on the Grand class ships. The folks that design these things must do things differently than hubby and I do because these things make NO sense to us!
  6. Do club class rules state you cannot invite guests to dine with you if they are not in a CC cabin? We usually book the kids in an oceanview or obs balcony and are wondering if we book CC can we eat together. If not, we'll book a normal mini. I ask because we booked CC once and based on the conversations at the next table, (tables were very close together so we all just started to chat...) it appeared that one couple were CC and the other were their guests, however they may have also been CC for all I know. Thanks!
  7. Captain Johnny is on vacation per his Twitter feed. @HarleyCaptain So another Captain was on the bridge.
  8. https://www.avidcruiser.com/2013/06/photo-tour-royal-princess-spa-fitness/ I found this photo showing the tub. I guess the detailed description of the spa treatment would indicate if it was in this room? You'd have to ask about the duration of the treatment to know how long you can stay in the room.
  9. Well for us it really is going to be based on what new over $12 booze they stock. Before covid, the beverage package covered everything we wanted to drink. There were very few items on the ship that were over the package. We bought the package at full price as there was no "Plus" fare then. March 2022 we cruised the Enchanted at Plus fare - the ship was out of stock of a lot of spirits, both those within and over the $12, and out of stock of many wines, both by the glass and bottle. It was a dismal selection at best compared to what we were used to pre covid. Supply chain issues I presume. Prices everywhere are going up. It doesn't matter what I'd pay elsewhere ... it matters what I'd have to pay on my vacation to determine which plan is good for us. I had downloaded the March 2022 menus from all the bars (scanned the qr codes.... ), so I will be interested to view bar menus from after this new program starts to compare prices of all the drinks that they offer, and see what new ones they claim they will have. Only after I see the new menus / offerings will I be able to decide if Plus is still good enough or if Premier will have to be our new norm. If they bring back the spirits they had pre covid that were covered by the old beverage package, but up the prices to be over $12 I won't be happy but I won't be at all surprised. I'm hoping they actually offer some new higher end stuff over $12 but won't hold my breath. The Plus fare was a steal for us. We'll see what the new math is once the new menus are released.
  10. We usually cruise in a minisuite. This past March we choose a club class mini ONLY because of the unreliability and hassle of the dining function on the medallion app. With everything we'd read, and because we didn't want to be tethered to our phones, we booked club class for the simple reason we didn't have to make dining reservations. We wanted a hassle free 10 days. The "extra" menu item was fine. The service was spotty. They were clearly understaffed. The tables for 2 were close together. We ended up in conversation with the next few tables because we were all so close. The cabin is exactly the same as any other mini. The two half bottles of wine were sub-par. Next time we won't bother paying the extra and we'll fight with the app for dining reservations. It wasn't worth the upcharge for us. We'd rather spend that money going to Crown Grill or something else.
  11. The crew are also required to perform certain duties at certain intervals. Pre-covid when we cruised with the kids, if the kids had an inside room across the hall they often left the "do not disturb" up for a couple days in a row. The steward would come to us and request access as they had to do the change of sheets or whatever at certain intervals. You could speak to your steward and discuss alternatives, but even if you wait for them to come to your room so you can exchange towels and give them your trash bins, you'll be in close contact.
  12. Thanks. It worked with the "same day" test. So something changed to deny "prior day >24 hours" tests!! If the same day test was rejected we would have called. It was either sit on hold then risk them not being able to fix it, then not be able to get another test cause no appts avail anymore before he had to get to the airport.... or just run to get another test! Busy morning!!😆 He is now on the flight!
  13. I know. We checked ALL that ! And the CDC website. Day before worked for us in March when we travelled - checkin worked fine. Today the checkin process would not let him continue. He didn't want to risk some idiot at checkin. He is at shoppers getting another test....... I guess someone at Air Canada messed up the programming ......
  14. Hubby has to fly to US for work. Flight today 3:45pm. He has a negative result taken yesterday morning. Checkin asked for date ant time of test, he input, it denied as "too early". Any advice? He has booked another test just now that he'll goto if he has to, but this is nuts. Thanks
