  1. I had the 4-device plan as well. After the first night, even at 1am was unusable, I went to the internet cafe and asked for refund the next morning. On the account statement, it says goodwill credit, should be refundable (did not indicate otherwise) as my shareholder benefit is stated as non-refundable.
  2. I was on Discovery last week too. I asked for a refund since I purchased the wifi on its own. I gave them an earful on my survey! If I can't perform a stock trade when needed, I will think twice to be on the ship!
  3. On my last day of the 7-day cruise, used up all the FCC that was going to expire by end of 2022. I can do my best to avoid crowds and indoors but I can't think of a way to not engage the crew without impacting the service I am receiving. They are mask-optional but I am not sure if they are still being tested on a weekly basis. This is the first time I have not purchased any Future Cruise Deposit. Hope you all enjoy your future cruises, stay safe and keep the stock prices up.
  4. Crew is mostly unmasked on Discovery effective 10/15/2022, recommended but not required indoor. Human nature, when they sneeze, they sneeze into their hands, just witnessed it the other day w/o masks. You know how that goes.
  5. We were on Discovery doing the same Coastal cruise in April. The internet was good then with 40-50% pax load, so I think the issue is that the designed system capacity is inadequate and it failed miserably under a stress load. Terrible if someone depends on it for work email, let alone doing any zoom meeting!!

  8. Tip whatever your heart desires esp when it's above and beyond their normal duties. It is an expression of gratitude rather than an obligation. JMO.

I'm happy to report that Ocean Ready crew called back and left a message this afternoon (yes on a Sunday, call probably from oversea which is their Monday) and informed me that the 50% discount medallion net purchase issue has been resolved on the app. I immediately logged onto the app and purchased it for my upcoming cruise. For reference, I called last Wednesday 9/28, first talked to a customer rep who seemed to have dealt with this issue before and asked her to check if I have more than one captain circle account. She checked and there wasn't so she transferred me to Ocean Ready. The rep at Ocean Ready whom I talked to also gave me the impression that she had dealt with this before and said she would open a ticket. It would take a few days and she would call me back for an update. She did keep her words!
  10. Agreed. For that reason, I am seriously considering cancelling my world cruise 2024 to get my deposit back.
  11. The key is to find someone who understands the issue - it's like buying a lotto. I just called and Ocean Ready agent said it would take 45 days to link my correct account to the app. You heard it right, 45 days!
  12. It looks like Princess deliberately want to charge full price on elites and platinums, hope they spend the discount in the form of OBC onboard.
  13. I have the same issue as OP; fired an email out to the app team a few weeks ago. In my past experience with them, it took 3 months for them to respond.
  14. The press release is not meant to be an operational protocol, rather it's for marketing/sales. Between now and Sep, the actual protocols will get ironed out and clarified, just give a little time and not sweat it now.
  15. Just when the next version of vaccine is around the corner, this change of policy of allowing unvaxed with no limit is premature. My opinion only - will be cancelling my cruise as I do not want my cruise to have a higher probability to be disrupted to evac some unvax pax who had fallen seriously ill on the ship.

  19. Maybe they don't want to take any new bookings, being the first cruise - shake down cruise, hence limit the capacity. I doubt it is sold out.
  20. Slightly off the bike subject, does Princess allow a scooter, not the mobility sit-down one, but the kind one zips around on foot?
  21. In theory, book a cruise as close to $900 as possible including port fees, taxes and PVP. If you can't go, under CFAR, you will get a new set of FCC minus the insurance premium.
