  1. The only cruise in February still available for sale is the February 1st 5 day Bermuda. And once again, who goes to Bermuda in February? If someone said the next cruise has 4,700 passengers, it's almost certain they meant the next Caribbean sailing.
  2. Wait a minute. I think there may have been a miscommunication regarding the next cruises being sold out, as it is still on sale with lots of availability in most categories. Now what I see is that both of the Caribbean runs in February are no longer showing up for booking. I am anxiously awaiting my February 26th cruise. Gonna have a great time even if the ship is full.
  3. 33 days until February 26th Getaway 12 night Southern Caribbean.
  4. The terms and conditions don't mention anything about gifting the second voucher. But it does state that you cannot use both vouchers in the same place. How was it you managed to use both vouchers for the same place? Will be on Getaway in February with friends, and we would be interested in dining with them at a specialty restaurant without anyone having to pay.
  5. You mean that "stuff" they used to put in your cabin as a loyalty reward. Awful swill.....
  6. That isn't true. It is only if you cancel and rebook. I repriced a cruise a where the deposit was a cruise next certificate, and NCL did not remove the extra $250.
  7. Of course, silly. Just saying they don't bring a large till with them.
  8. It is paid out in cash. In the past they have always sent a check if you left the ship with unused OBC, but on my October cruise on Prima, I was pulled out of line at the gangway with a refund due me. There was a cashier stationed at the gangway, and fortunately there was no line. I never bought the cruise next certificates I had planned on buying, so I had over $1,000 coming back to me. It really cleaned the guy's cash drawer out. Collect your cash the day before arrival.
  9. Nope. All the upgrade would get you is a better cabin. Check the FAQ for upgrade advantage. It's question number 5.
  10. Arrived at the pier at 12:30 for the October 15th Prima. There was absolutely no line whatsoever for check in and we walked right on the ship. Used to think arriving early was the way to go, but always hated sitting around waiting for the ship to be cleared, but this latest embarkation experience has changed that view.
  11. See Indy, we are in agreement. My cabin was on deck 11 port side (11340), overlooking the hydrate stand. It was kind of like staying at a holiday inn with a view of the pool. Same people hogging the same lounge chair, every day at the crack of dawn... Yuck. I would get a forward balcony next time.
  12. For what it's worth it's more of a problem in the aft part of the ship, because that is where all the lounge chairs/sunbeds and the infinity pools are located. I don't believe it would be a problem for cabins more forward where the sculptures are, or even further forward, where the nice ocean facing couches are.
  13. Yes, people out on deck near the railing can easily look into deck 9 and 10 balconies. Better close your drapes in the evening, because people would see inside these cabins. I had a balcony on deck 11.
  14. We found it way easier to use the "take photo" option rather than uploading a photo. When I tried uploading a photo, their system didn't accept it. It was a JPG file, but for some reason they didn't like it. When using the take photo option, it acts just like the facial recognition software and gives you a circle to move your face into, assuring that an acceptable image is captured.
  15. The filet mignon on Seaside Rotisserie's dinner menu is fantastic. The Montedito, which is crab on a sourdough toast from Tapas is really delicious.
  16. It is actually only the category BF that is guarantee only. I searched an online cruise agency for your sailing, and all categories of balcony higher than BF were available for cabin assignments. I do see what you mean with the website. NCL lumps together categories BA-BF, where the travel agency still has them separated out. With NCL you pay more if you select a higher deck because they are a higher category. I do see that NCL isn't giving you the option to select another stateroom, and that is the issue, not that they don't have cabin assignments available. I would call NCL to book this.
  17. Just did a mock booking, selecting a cheap inside cabin. My coupon would save 106.35 on this cabin.
  18. Was on the Oct 15th Prima sailing out of New York. Got to the pier about 12:30 and didn't encounter any lines whatsoever. It was the smoothest best embarkation experience I have ever had. Normally I stay in Manhattan the night before a cruise and get to the terminal early, and always end up sitting around waiting. Arriving after the embarkation rush just made it such a relaxed embarkation.
  19. Booked a category IF stateroom which I upgraded to a BF, using points from the NCL master card. When I booked this IF it cost 1712 per person. The price went down 4 times, and each time I had the fare adjusted, but the latest adjustment was so unexpected. The day before final payment (10/28/22) I wanted to move to a category BB with the angled balcony. I called world points to ask about moving and they said I would need to upgrade my category IF to an IB in order to do it. When they check the rate for the category IB, it is $231 less than what I paid for my category IF. That was the 4th and final time I had the fare adjusted. World points said my timing was perfect because the upgrade would not have been possible after final payment. I fully expected to pay a little for the IF to IB upgrade, not to save another chunk of change at the last minute. At the end of the day, the fare for that IF stateroom ended up going from 1712 per person to 909 per person. It is for the Feb. 26, 2023 Getaway sailing. I am still smiling two days later!!
  20. Agreed, and I also miss the Great Outdoors!!
