That may be the case,however,in the 80+ years that I I have lived in both Brooklyn and Long Island I have never known anyone who drove to Bayonne by any other route than the Southern State ,Belt Parkway and Verrazano Bridge .
I am not comparing ship food to restaurant food but just stating that the ship crab cakes taste great.
I have a son in law who was born in MD and he disagrees with me.
I find it interesting that people who do not live in NY or do not live in Long Island tell me that going from LI where I have lived a large portion of my life that going to Cape Liberty from Plainview should not be with the Southern State ,Belt and Verrazano .
The only time I have stayed on a ship in a port is when I have been physically unable to get off.It makes no difference to me how many times I have been to the same port,I could always find something to do.When I was 73 I was still physically active.
The last time I wore a tux (rented) was my oldest daughters wedding in 1997.When I was working I wore a suit or sport jacket every day.I retired in 1999 but due to boredom I worked in a totally different industry for 5 years.For that job casual attire was the norm.
I have had fractures all over my body from face to coccyx ,hands and feet .36 falls causing more than 20 fractures.I have never had surgeries .The primary reason is that the majority were at a time of old age .
I do not know if this still applies but in the 80’s if people one large sums from legal gambling they would have an elderly person collect their winnings.
I am gluten free.On a cruise several years ago I decided to eat regular food and became quite sick.On the next cruise I again eating food I should not be eating and once again became sick.On all subsequent cruises I have only eaten GF food
