  1. It does vary by ship. I've been on 4 ships since late January this year, and most announced Suites, Pinns, Key, D+, D, then general boarding. I think it has everything to do with how many passengers in each category there are.
  2. Our second cruise in 1974 was on the Sun Viking. It was a 2 week cruise, had a French pastry chef on board, and we were in heaven for 2 weeks. Great memories of that ship.
  3. I suggest you go here: https://www.nerdwallet.com/best/credit-cards/rewards Pick a card that has a cashback reward for new cards, once the required amount has been charged. This might be the cost of your cruise, or you may have to use it for a few other things, too. Then, when the reward is available, use it as a statement credit. This reduces the cost of your cruise by that amount.
  4. In most ports, if you are D or D+ not in a suite, you do NOT get priority check-in. You get priority boarding, because they call those groups before general boarding.
  5. Thank you. I'll call Uber for the Oasis to Grandeur. I am going from Port Everglades to POM in March, so I will ask about that transfer.
  6. Thanks for the information: I have an Oasis to Grandeur transfer to make at the Port of Miami. I will ask Guest Relations.
  7. Every time someone is near me with a walkie-talkie, I am sooooooooo tempted to join the conversation, and then be "surprised" when they get upset. "OH, I thought you WANTED me to join the conversation; that's why it's so loud." In this case, above, I would just yell, "Yes, I can hear you LOUD and clear". Seriously, I would not got to just any staff person, I would talk to Security. They are the only true enforcers of passenger conduct. I like the idea of keeping a copy of the Conduct Policy, too.
  8. On the free cruises you could pay for one connecting cabin, and get the other one free.
  9. I just got off the Liberty 12/12. They had the World Cup games on all the time. Check out all the lounges and see which ones have a TV screen in them. The Suites Lounge definitely was showing all the games.
  10. I separate my own: recycle items (bottles, all paper, etc) goes in the main cabin trash can. Everything else in the bathroom, and if it needs to be segregated, I bring my own small bags from home. Gives me the "ewwwws" to think I'm making some one deal with my dental floss and interdental brushes.
  11. I've been called a "baby Pinnacle" because I'm in the lower point range. This lady that had all the attention in the lounge might have been one of the upper stratosphere point people.
  12. Personally, I've always hoped they'd add a "Tanzanite" level: it's my favorite stone......😁
  13. I talked to a Loyalty Ambassador in 2019 who said the same thing. He had been telling C&A that their should be a level in between. He was going to bring it up at their annual LA meeting in March 2020..................which, I am sure never happened. I have always had the opinion ever since we reached Diamond, and our 2 sons were grandfathered into that level, that the perks/program could be "poofed" at any time. So, I enjoy it and actually expect things to change. Many D and above feel like their being treated unfairly, like a bait-and-switch situation, and are entitled to it all. We pay for cruises, the program is gratis. Just as we can take our cruise business elsewhere, they can change their free program.
  14. I think my post #116 with the copy/paste from the C&A Benefits Grid will answer your question. If capacity is exceeded (after 12/16/22) they will set up another lounge somewhere for Pinns. I just got off the Liberty this morning, and the Suite Concierge told me this past weekend if there are less than 50 Pinns on a cruise they will have access to the SL. If over 50, a temporary Pinn Lounge will be set up. My cruise was 1 cabin shy of full capacity, and there were 21 Pinns.
  15. Regarding P and Suite capacity: C&A Benefits Grid effective 12/16/22, footnote 11: Should the number of Suite Guests and Pinnacle Club Members surpass our Suite/Concierge Lounge capacity we will continue to provide a temporary exclusive Pinnacle Club Lounge between the hours of 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Location varies by ship.
  16. Because the new policy goes into effect on 12/16, and it's applicable to 12 ships listed in the email.
  17. Agree. I was told 2 days ago on the Liberty by the Suite Concierge that if the Pinnacle count is under 50, then P's have access to the SL. The Liberty this past weekend had 1 cabin left, and 21 P's.
  18. I think the answer to your question is 525 extra cruise days between D+ and P.
  19. No flamethrowing here. I try very hard to take my mental "blinders" off and see what might be the reason from the cruise line's point of view. One thing that stick's out is the labor shortage all over the cruise industry, and in order to keep the crew, they might have to pay them more to do more work. If they raise the auto-tips, I will reduce the extra I give out in cash. Except for the bar staff. I get 6 complimentary drinks per day, and I will continue to tip those crew members, because the labor for them is the same, and they still deserve a tip. I think once the labor issue is resolved, we will see some "creative" pricing that offsets the higher daily gratuity in some way.
  20. In 49 years I've received honest, heartfelt replies from the crew. If I have a question I tell them WHY I'm asking it.
  21. I was off the Navi in May of this year. About 10% of us were wearing masks. On the Jewel, Vision, Allure, and Enchantment since then, and now on the Liberty. I found the older passengers are more cautious, and more of them wear masks. I do, also. Right now I think I am the only passenger wearing a mask, along with some crew. Most of the passengers are 20-50 with a lot of children and teens. Just make yourself comfortable, and do what works for you. For instance, when this cruise is over I fly to DTW to see my son and family for 7 days. Right now they are ALL four sick with the flu, with Mama recuperating quickly, and my son barfing all day long today. They are wearing masks in the house, and I am now spending the first 3 days in a hotel. It's my son's birthday next Wednesday, and they are "expected" to be better. I'm wearing a mask on the ship as usual, but now want to make sure I don't take and "extra" to them........
  22. 12 night Caribbean on the Enchantment in January. Love the long cruises.
  23. I am currently on the Liberty. Embarkation day, before getting my room card, they had me sign a receipt. But, after that I haven't seen one. Of course, I'm handing the server a cash tip with my card when I order and they want to make life easier for me! 😁
