  1. Did you register for AARP rewards? Do that and then once logged in, you'll be in the Rewards program. You'll see Featured Rewards but click where it says See all Rewards. Holland America Gift cards show in the 2nd row.
  2. All addressed on post 122. No, you don't have to be a paid AARP member to access AARP Rewards. Just follow the links to AARP rewards. You may have to create a signon to access the rewards. It's tricky, but follow the links to SEE ALL the Rewards. The $500 cards sell for $450 and $100 for $90. There is your 10% discount.
  3. You do NOT have to be an AARP member to buy the Holland gift cards. I think you do have to sign up for the AARP rewards to have an account. Here is a link. Not sure it'll work for you. https://www.aarp.org/rewards/redeem/#sort-by=default
  4. I almost had occasion to find the answer to whether travel insurance will pay cash for cruises paid for with the gift cards. My hubby was in isolation for 4 days on our TA on NS. I filed the insurance claim and gave them all proof of the payment using the gift cards. However, HAL quickly gave us the future cruise credit and hence I told the insurance not to bother with that claim. The insurance did reimburse us for some medicine bought at the medical center onboard, but that wasn't bought by gift card. I did love getting that 10% off the cruise by using the gift cards. Not sure I'll do it again for the final payment on the next cruise just due to this uncertainty as it applies to travel protection.
  5. I guess the 330 days is just a suggestion. I called FE dept and they got the same error. She said to try again at 300 days out. It didn't seem to matter what airline I tried.
  6. I've had it also, but that's when flight changes were happening on the airline side, and they took days to updated on the HAL side. This one, it's a totally new booking that won't confirm..
  7. It's a Transatlantic on 4/7 and flight is return only from AMS to TPA. Flight 4/23.
  8. Not sure if this is a problem with Flightease or is it just too soon? Today is the first day you can book travel on April 23, 2024. Flights come up and I'm able to select, and go through all the steps to confirm, but on the last confirmation I get ERROR: We are unable to process your request. Please try again later or call us at the number listed on the page for assistance. I have done this twice today with the same result. The first time I even received a text from United that my phone number would be used for flight updates. Has Flightease worked for others today?
  9. See post 76. That is for the Chase Freedom Flex, not the Sapphire. I'll have to pull up the Sapphire benefits to see what it says.
  10. I have the Chase Freedom Flex card which has No annual fee and has Trip Cancellation and Interruption. It will cover $1500 pp up to $6K. My benefits summary says: • In no event shall the Benefit Amount payable exceed the actual amount charged to the Cardholder’s Account for eligible travel expenses.
  11. Interesting you could charge $1 on the card and get the entire non-refundable portion of trip back. Noone has indicated how this works in real life.
  12. I've done this twice recently with 2 different TAs. Both gave me the form, which can be found online, but required that I fill it out and send it to HAL. Very important are the agency name, agent and the agency's phone number. A couple weeks ago mine was denied as sent in because I had the phone number of the agent and not the agency which was what was on file with Holland. It was a simple correction.
  13. We were on NS Transatlantic in April and booked next year's while on board. We loved the NS! While the buffet did have some issues that you mention about stations on one side and not the other, we found the quality and variety of food to be unparalleled by any other line. The omelets to order, the salads - unbelievable. The layout we didn't find hard to navigate at all. On our last MSC cruise we couldn't take a certain elevator bank to get to our cabin. it took us forever to get to it the first time.
  14. We were in COVID quarantine in a deck 4 obstructed cabin presumably they offer these for quarantine because the view is the lifeboat. However, one deck up you'll be fine as the lifeboat is on eyelevel on deck 4, not deck 5.
  15. From the Benefit Summary on page 30: Trip Cancellation/Trip Interruption Insurance The Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption benefit provides reimbursement for Eligible Travel Expenses charged to the Cardholder’s Account up to ten thousand ($10,000.00) dollars per Covered Person and up to twenty thousand ($20,000.00) dollars per Trip, if a loss results in cancellation or interruption of the travel arrangements Would you really expect them to reimburse more than was was charged on the card?
  16. You might want to request that this post be deleted. The title is a duplicate of your other post and the question has nothing to do with the title.
  17. I have had it drop off when I changed from direct to agent booking. Had to call and have them reapply the Obc. This time, I waited until the transfer was complete then submitted the request.
  18. We were just on the NS TA and the daily rate was either $31.99 or $34.99. We only got it because HA was comping it while my husband was in Covid isolation.
  19. How is this different? We just sailed the 14 day Transatlantic to BCN, but people also booked it for 7 more days, terminating in Rome. The ship was required to get to a zero count in BCN, so everyone had to get off. If continuing to Rome, they could get back on.
  20. Yes, the benefit is approved through July 31, 2024. My 4/24 cruise OBC was applied within minutes of me submitting it.
  21. Yes, we just sailed the 14 night Transatlantic on NS and had anytime dining. No problem ever getting a table for 2. We also requested we didn't get the ones that are 6 inches from the next table. Often they would sit us at a 4-top which eliminated that problem most of the time.
  22. We just did a Transatlantic and did our laundry midway through the trip in port in Ponte Delgada. Super easy to research options ahead of time by Googling. Only took one hour for less than 8 Euros to wash and dry.
  23. Maybe differs between ships, but NS would only take reservations before 5:15 and after 8:00.
  24. I thought it was odd that the nametags didn't have countries on them. We've sailed on many lines for many years, and never noticed tags that didn't include countries on the nametag. Is this something new with Holland? We hadn't sailed Holland for 20 years prior to our NS TA last month.
