  1. Hi all, First time HAL cruiser (many with Celebrity, NCL, MSC and one with Ponant). I'm booked in October for the Rotterdam out of Fort Lauderdale to essentially the Panama Canal and points before and after. I very much want to book a villa at Half Moon Cay but the website says no excursions available on that day and to check back later. I've been checking back later for over a week now with no luck. I have been able to book excursions in three other ports of call on that cruise. Can anyone enlighten me about why this is happening? Should I call? It seems like excursions on the private island should be the same sailing after sailing so I'm baffled by the website's information. Thanks so much!
  2. I'm feeling breakfast before boarding! 🙂
  3. Hi all, Does anyone know what hotels are on International Blvd? Are they near restaurants/shops etc.? Thank you!!
  4. I booked a casino offer and upgraded the stateroom. The rep was the person who advised me about the HIA package and I booked it on the spot. This is my first HAL cruise after many with Celebrity and NCL so this package seemed a no brainer at $50 pp/pd compared to even just the beverage packages on the other lines.
  5. Thank you Shalandara! Am I staying up too late or do I not see the Rotterdam on the link you provided? I saw above that someone loved the cabanas on the Rotterdam but I can't seem to see them anywhere. Again...my sincere thanks!
  6. Hi all, I've tried to find out how to reserve a cabana on the Rotterdam but I can't find any links or offerings on the website or my reservation. Any suggestions on how I can achieve this reservation? Thanks as always!
  7. Thank you so much for your replies. Truly appreciated!
  8. Thank you everyone! I will find out where to call! I feel better that it's not necessarily sold out!
  9. October 22 on the Rotterdam.... Excursions from ports later in the cruise show up but not for this stop.
  10. Hi all, Just booked my first HAL cruise which stops at Half Moon Cay. I tried to search shore excursions to book a cabana or villa at Half Moon Cay but no 'excursions' come up. Am I doing something wrong or should I assume that they are sold out? Is there a phone number I can call to double check? Thank you everyone!
  11. Hi all... Basic question from a HAL newbie. I booked a Neptune suite tonight and added the HIA package. Is the Orange perk different/better from the perks with the HIA? Sorry if it's a 'silly' question, but I'm totally new to HAL.
  12. I've ordered flowers on every cruise I've taken on Celebrity....now unavailable for the next two booked. Very disappointed. And almost nothing available to pre-order in general.
  13. Hi all, Interesting thread. Does anyone know what MGM Platinum can get from Blue Chip? We've had some comped cruises in the past but not because of MGM...just through Blue Chip. Thanks!
  14. Hi all.... I've noticed this as well! Almost zero available to order pre - cruise. I've always ordered flowers, champagne, and more and now for a June, 2023 cruise there is nearly nothing. Very disappointed....
  15. Hi.... The offer I booked today was for an A1 veranda for a grand total of less than $150 for two people. Add on gratuities, drinks etc to get the actual total but still a good deal in my opinion. The last cruise that my husband and I booked through BCC (Alaska just a bit ago) was for two rooms and his sister joined us. She was supposed to bring a friend who couldn't make it at the last minute. No supplement or any penalty that I remember. Maybe you can call and ask BCC if there's a supplement if it is being booked as a solo cruiser. I'm not sure about that.
  16. In every case where I've had an offer it has been for two people. The last two times, at least, my husband has gotten a similar offer. We both booked it and brought friends along. No one paid full price, although, again, no perks. I know there is another thread discussing people getting offers that include drinks and wifi. I've never gotten that so I just add on. I've also upgraded the stateroom on occasion but it seems to me that upgrading has gotten more expensive recently. As for picking the room, when I've upgraded I've chosen my room. Blue Chip will assign a room initially. If you are not planning on upgrading the category I'd advise checking the deck plan to make sure the assigned room is okay with you. If not, ask for a different location within the category and I'll bet they will try to make it happen. So far I've been very pleased with BCC and will always keep an eye out for offers! I hope this helps! 🙂
  17. Hi all, Not a scam. I've booked through Blue Chip offers many times. In fact I responded to this offer and am booked. If you want to take advantage simply fill out the form from the link on the email. You will receive a booking confirmation. Then call and give them your payment information. Couldn't be easier. And as mentioned you can ask for an upgrade price. Note that typically there are no perks attached to these offers (unless possibly for the highest rollers?) so if you want internet, drink package etc. that will be extra. Still a good deal in my opinion! 🙂
  18. Hi all, First Cunard voyage...March, 2024 Norway/Northern Lights. Very excited! I have booked a Q6 stateroom forward on deck 9 but am thinking about changing it to a Q4 (penthouse) on deck 7 midships. I know this may be premature to even be asking but I'd love to hear any opinions as to location, advantages/disadvantages of either stateroom. I have previously sailed with Celebrity, NCL and MSC almost always in forward facing cabins. Will I lose anything from going to the larger cabin midships but possibly having zero forward facing view from the balcony? I can see from the deck plan that the Q6 balcony does not wrap around to the front but maybe if I crane my neck I can have a forward facing view? Any thoughts/opinions/experiences from other Cunard ships would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
  19. Hi all, So...I'm in Vancouver waiting to cruise tomorrow and myself and DH self tested with the Binax tests yesterday from our hotel room. We purchased the tests from the Celebrity cruise website. The bad news.....my first test came back back inconclusive so I had to redo it. Thank goodness we had several extra tests with us. (Thank you Cruise Critic!) The good news...my second test was negative! The extra good news... my DH' was also negative! The double extra good news>... Emed contacted me within 12 hours to get my address so they can send me a free test kit because I got an initial inconclusive result. I was surprised and impressed with the customer service. So happy no barriers for boarding tomorrow. Yay!
  20. Hi AngryBirdah, It worked out no problem. I went to guest services and asked to swap rooms/keys etc. If I remember right they did switch the names on the rooms and the billing as well. Hope this helps! Of course that seems like it was in another lifetime pre-covid!
