  1. It wasn't supposed to leave until tonight. Two nights/3 days in Auckland. Arrived on 9th.
  2. It's similar to the timing in our cruise. Starts in Mumbai but the previous cruise has one night in Mumbai, the next morning they disembark and we board, and then we spend the night in Mumbai port. . Previous cruise arrived on 9th. They have an overnight. And disembark on 10th. On 10th the new travellers board. And stay overnight which was last night. They leave port tonight, 11th.
  3. Maybe some people just like to voice their complaint without expecting any resolution? Or maybe hoping for compensation....
  4. Absolutely this. I guess she just tunes out. She wasn't actively participating in anything he did. While waiting to embark which was delayed, he was on the phone to Viking loudly complaining. And that continued the whole cruise.
  5. It arrived on 9th. As I'm going on Mars in May I keep a track on panomax. Clearly then cruise mapper has the incorrect itinerary.
  6. True. It's 11th here now. Hope all ok.
  7. Bringing our own onboard is not an option as we are cruising the Middle East. Alcohol even banned in a couple. And we aren't schlepping booze from Australia to India to start. Additionally there's nothing better than sipping on a professionally made cocktail watching the world pass by. And then having another.
  8. We had one on our first Viking Cruise and weirdly he seemed to be everywhere we were. Even on the train from Seward to Anchorage on the row in front of us. I had tired of his demanding and aggressive voice from the moment of waiting to embark on the cruise. He sat opposite us. And then frequently. Rude and demanding to crew. On the train I noticed he had fallen asleep. I set my alarm for five minutes. It went off on cue. I have never seen someone jump so high on a train. He had no idea what had happened. We tried to stop laughing so we didn't give the game away.
  9. I've just done an XE currency conversion. $35 AUD per day charged for Aussies now, equates to $24.10 USD. $25AUD a day, the old price, equates to $17.00 USD. So Viking is still behind.
  10. Not sure how it works for non Aussie insurance policies, but if you don't take it out until closer to the cruise, they won't cover you for any health issues that may develop over that period unless you declare them and they may accept it but usually with a premium hike.
  11. I added a bit to my post. Don't think it's worth it for Aussies anymore.
  12. While that might be the xe currency rate, or similar, that is never the exchange rate that consumers experience. Banks will add on a few % to transactions. My original price for SSP for 21 days was $530. Equates to $25 AUD. Which was probably underpriced. The current price is $740 pp. Equates to $35 pp. Ouch. Luckily I'd bought it a month ago. Wouldn't be worth it now. I think it might be a catch up adjustment. 🤷‍♀️ I see it includes drinks up to $18 now but think the Drapper is the only glass at that price.
  13. No. Fares are locked in when you pay the deposit. The SSP is an add on. Fare price fluctuates all the time for specials etc so that's like comparing apples and oranges. Additionally the same cruise can cost more if in a different season.
  14. It's simply currency exchange. Aussie dollar has dropped as has the £.
  15. There's a picture of Neptune on the WC on a FB page where it looks like dive activity happening during port/tender after they left Florida last week.
  16. The infinity pools on Viking are 2 meters and most can't touch the bottom. As it's a very small pool with a fab view over the stern I suspect it's to make sure no one hogs the space.
  17. It will pop up very soon. I think that Owners suite can book from 105 days out so I'd expect 120 days at the latest. I check obsessively too and is always a surprise when you don't expect them and there they are 😂
  18. Ours for May 2023 were posted in late December. Helps to actually see what the cruise will have available when the booking window opens, and the cost. Also lists the times they are offered if there are choices.
  19. Light sponge cut into small squares. Each rolled in melted chocolate then tossed in shredded coconut. I made some in the UK using some of your prepackaged sponge for the Aus UK wedding. . For those on the cruise, every supermarket sells them. The more chocolate the better but some bakeries don't make them very well. And the coconut needs to have large shreds not small ones so you can taste them.
  20. I find all the WC blogs wonderful and reading them all. Because the ship goes to the same place almost at the same time as my next cruise in April I feel like I'm already onboard. How sad. 😂
  21. Viking cancelled the trip and admit they didn't notify the passenger.
  22. That is a rather excellent blog. Will now follow it.
  23. I dislike it a lot when activities take over the pool area. The beer thing? Shudder.
  24. I think we saw a show narrated by Robert Redford.
  25. They already had Tim Tams on the list. We took packets over to a UK wedding and people were fighting over them. 😂
