If no one is eating in the MDR and purchasing the (now much more expensive) UDP this definitely affects cost.. Just saying. I for one do not like Indian food, nor am I impressed with the menus that have been posted. My children and I look forward to our favorite MDR dishes on our cruises. WJ has been less than stellar as of late too. Not very happy. I know my kiddos will be disappointed - I don't see much on the menu they will eat - and they aren't kid menu eaters either.

Yup, just checked and all my bookings UDP prices went up as well. I was waiting for Black Friday to book since I wasn't set on buying this at the regular sale prices so probably will end up foregoing all together now.

Gotcha. Yeah all kids are different. On RCI kids club has been back to normal at least since summer. I wish NCL was clearer as to what will be the norm moving forward at this point now that restrictions are pretty much gone.

Splash Academy - can anyone tell me if Splash Academy on the Prima is operating fully with late night hours? Also if anyone knows the age groups (NCL has conflicting info on the website). Thanks!

I've read contradicting info on NCL Getaway specifically and NCL generally. People come back saying kids club was either closed or limited hours available. Can you tell me if your positive experience was before or post covid? Thinking about trying NCL - the getaway or Prima for spring break 2023 and if the kids club won't be operational for late night I will be booking RCI (they are back to normal on their ships). During the day we do all activities together but the kids like to go hang out and do late night after dinner/show which gives the grown ups a few hours alone.

I know there's no roaming while at sea but tmobile has the unlimited international plan included with Magenta/Magenta Max while at port for up to 5GB of "high speed" and lower speeds after that. You can also buy a daily/monthly pass if you need more. I've used it successfully while at port on RCCL itineraries. I asked specifically for GSC because I know the ships don't dock but are anchored so was wondering if the cell towers successfully reach the ship. TMobile's coverage map shows GSC available too.

Oh wow! I wonder why. I had no issue when docked at coco cay with tmobile which right next door pretty much. Maybe the spot where they anchor is a dead zone?

Jumping on this thread. Is there any flexibility with any of the age groups or is it pretty much set in stone? Sailing with 9&12 year olds and would want the 9 year old to join the 12 year old. Thanks for the response. Not sure about my iphone's configuration but I think the iphone13 has Wifi 6 but not Wifi6E. Just so I understand as I'm not cell phone tech savvy - NCL having blocked Wifi signals from the ship affects tmobile roaming (not connected to ship's wifi)?

I'm looking at t-mobile map and looks like they have coverage on the island. Can anyone tell me how good Tmobile streaming internet/data connectivity is when on the ship anchored off of GSC? (magenta/magenta+ with global roaming).

Thanks for the thread, I didn't see it. I wouldn't get the soda package as my kids don't even drink soda and I read that bottled water isn't even included nor are juices or non-alcoholic daiquiris etc. That would be a silly add on for me if I had to pay for it.

Hi all, new to NCL. Can someone explain to me how the Free at Sea promos work with three in a room where the third is a minor? I read through their terms (https://www.ncl.com/about/terms-and-conditions/promotions) and most refer to guests 1-2. I did see on the beverage package guest 3 must get the package at the prevailing rate. What about minors? Also - for specialty dining - do I pay full price for the third person regardless of age? Internet - I would upgrade the internet to the unlimited premium. Is the third package priced separately at a full rate? Finally - it says internet package doesn't apply to Great Stirrup Cay - is there no internet at the port or would this need to be purchased separately? is there internet on the ship while at this port? Would tmobile global work here? I'm just so used to RCCL cruise planner and this is very confusing to me. full disclosure - I'm only thinking of booking with NCL - not booked yet so don't have access to see what actual pricing and/or pre cruise purchase interface looks like. You're talking about next month. Take a look at next summer. Prices are insane right now. I booked a regular OV balcony on the oasis for $3200 (2ppl) back in June. Right now the price for the same balcony cabin category for 2 ppl is almost $6,000! Who is paying these prices??

Hi all, looking for a beach day with chair/umbrella rentals and easy access to food/drinks. Clean scenic beach reasonably close to port. Any recommendations? The only two beach excursions I see on Royal are playa dorada (transportation only) and coconut cove all inclusive which is pricey and I haven't read any good reviews. I would rather skip the excursion if otherwise safe and reasonable.

Does this mean less motion? I'm all for that!

Well seems enough people do AND pack them in checked luggage. I looked at the website selling articles recovered from lost luggage and there are diamond rings, tennis bracelets etc. Not sure what kind of logic/planning prompted this packing strategy..

Seriously though, who packs jewelry in their checked suitcases? 😵
