  1. No. And there have been no announcements of new arrangements by the authorities for 2023. So what you are seeing is either optimism or marketing. Azamara can't know at this time that they can dock in Venice.
  2. Top of the River Cruising forum: How to Contact SCENIC Ships Directly
  3. Understood. We presumably had a different guide, and also our expectations for that day may have been different to yours. We felt the Scenic tour to the American beaches was just the right length. [But we had done Bayeux on our own on the previous trip, so we didn't have to choose between the two destinations.] Bottom line: you can't see everything in an area on any one trip.
  4. And the confusion continues: the email at the top of this thread says clearly that you will no longer earn points or have reciprocity after February 1, 2023. But the August Loyalty Newsletter, which I received today, sends you to a webpage that says "In 2021, we announced that we would be separating from Royal Caribbean Group, but would continue to honor reciprocity benefits. Please note that this will come to an end in March 2023. After March 2023, you will be an exclusive Azamara Circle Member, which means we will no longer have reciprocity benefits with Celebrity Cruises and Royal Caribbean." https://www.azamara.com/loyalty-newsletter-august-2022?ecid=em_23926480&rid=171054905&emsc=USA_PG_DISC_HH_YESBKFUTURE&emct=E&lnkid=https%3a%2f%2fazamara.com%2floyalty-newsletter-august-2022 That page then links back a website page with the Feb. 1 date. So ... Feb. 1, Mar. 1, sometime in March, or the end of March??? You pays yer money and takes yer cherce...
  5. The Oct. 6 Journey cruise is scheduled to tender in Dubrovnik. From what I have read this is a good thing for those who plan to the spend the day in the city, since the tender drop-off is in right the old town. But we will be taking a ship excursion to Mostar – will they run a tender to a more convenient place for the bus to wait for us?
  6. So sorry to hear that. Hope you have a mild case and can reschedule soon.
  7. This is not the sort of question where suppositions are helpful. Hopefully someone with a clear memory (or even better, pictures) of their cabin on Star Breeze can give you reliable information.
  8. I have done Normandy both as a fly-drive and more recently as a river cruise. Both approaches have much to recommend them, but even with a GPS the driver will miss out on most of the scenery. If you want a carefree introduction for your partner, my recommendation would be a leisurely river cruise – specifically the Scenic 11-day itinerary that overnights in Rouen and Honfleur: Normandy & Gems of the Seine

  10. Check the Sticky at the top of this thread for phone numbers and emails that go direct to each Scenic ship. Your ship will have the most up to date info on where they are actually parked!
  11. The ban on mentioning TAs is about using a TA (or named PCP from a cruise line) to book a cruise.
  12. But would that amount be affected by the Two-Buck Chuck the woodchuck chugged???
  13. Not to mention the age-old question about "how much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood"...
  14. Someone suggested that this thread should be moved to the Cruising Technology forum. My feeling is that Azamara folks like to keep it here. [Maybe it's just me – I had to search hard to even find that forum when I knew it was there somewhere...] But you might also search there for info.
  15. But based on all the maritime engineering education we have been getting here, whether she's being pushed from behind [= much greater than 135m length total] or the side [= much wider channel required] – how does this work in such low water???
  16. I think the closest we could come is an agency like Abercrombie & Kent, which I believe puts together custom tours in addition to their groups.
  17. Note that only one booster is required in almost every jurisdiction. Even though the booster doesn't last any better than the original series, the 270 day limit only applies to the original shot(s).
  18. Never had coffee from a pod – who knows when it was roasted/ground [except ... months ago]. After research based on The Google, I found a coffee aficionados website that recommended the Bonavita drip coffeemaker, because it heats the water to precisely 195º-205ºf (91º-96ºc) which gets it certification from some coffee institute. I found that with this precise coffee making, I could drop the fancy single-vineyard coffee beans I was grinding and switch to [wait for it] Dunkin' Donuts Classic Medium Roast – and get perfect coffee every time. The savings on coffee have already paid off the cost of the coffee maker! [Back to my café au lait preference: I make the coffee very strong, but only pour half a cup. The rest is warmed whole milk (and lots of sweetener, but that's just my preference). The point is, with this coffeemaker I can brew it as strong as I want without it ever becoming bitter. It's an anti-Americano!!!]
  19. You can hope that this IT project, like most IT projects, will continue to run late...
  20. That had been the clear message before. But this new email says 'If you sail on Azamara or Celebrity.' What's really confusing is the use of the verb 'implies.' Doesn't the person who wrote this know if it's yes or no?
  21. Is it technically 'sailing' if the ship in question is riding on another ship?
  22. Actually no, I believe it is 'Chuck' as a nickname for somebody named 'Charles.' https://www.findmeabrewery.com/two-buck-chuck/
  23. Not clear how much to read into this new wording, but it sounds like maybe folks who have sailed on only Celebrity will keep their Azamara status (second bullet point). If so, that's a nice change for them.
