  1. And I say it again; there is NOTHING in Labadee they want The department of state has had Haiti on a level 3 or 4 watch for years, nothing new
  2. Yes sir! First time on Odyssey, GREAT ship, not sure 8 days will be enough!
  3. Yes! On Odyssey now, haven’t set foot in the MDR but for one breakfast.
  4. Fairly put. Your countryman above feels differently, but I agree with your assessment
  5. Now we skip the last night (or second to last night) to avoid the horrid conga line, towel waving, and self indulgent announcements
  6. If they make exception to this they better be prepared for an onslaught of people wanting exceptions and refunds when they have no travel insurance at all. a bad policy is no better than no policy so let’s give everyone the benefit of the doubt and cover them in all circumstances
  7. It is a poor policy, sorry but that’s a fact. This can not be the problem of Royal Caribbean. If a UK policy won’t cover a destination like Labadee it’s a wonder UK travelers can ever have travel insurance. There is, at any given time, a half dozen or so islands in the Caribbean on some sort of watch list.
  8. A passenger’s poor travel insurance policy is not a reason for Royal to grant exceptions to their rules.
  9. Precisely Also, the more successful visits that occur in the coming weeks will make people care even less.
  10. I cruised during the envelope days as well; however; I do not believe the current system fixes the shortcomings of the old system.
  11. Exactly Royal did not settle the Wiegand suit (and that happened on the ship); they certainly wouldn’t settle this.
  12. Well, Oasis has docked; I hope they don’t lose the ship!
  13. No, you can get 4 bottles per day at a discount if you choose to.
  14. Hence the ever expanding scope of the pool of workers in the “tip pool”
  15. Answering questions at Captain’s call is hardly effecting cruising
  16. But this is a cruise blog. Nothing happening that effects cruising.
  17. Because there is NO situation in Haiti
  18. I thought I had read somewhere that when the new dock was built, the ability to tender was eliminated. Don’t ask me where I read it or if I am even remembering correctly.
  19. Wow, 2 whole hours in the early morning on a Wednesday and no one rushed to respond!!
  20. Not my problem. I am not opting out of PAYING anyone. I am opting out of providing a pre set gratuity before I have received services. Don’t sign a contract if you aren’t happy with the terms.
  21. Exactly right, Royal can run their operations any way they wish. Their procedures permit me to remove my automatic gratuity; o am simply respecting their business model
