  1. I have had many good tours using Tours By Locals in lots of different countries.
  2. Have you asked your daughter where she would like to go for her birthday?
  3. You can get roundtrip air for $1,150. for two? That's amazing.
  4. I contact Steve at the Trip Insurance Store tripinsurancestore.com
  5. Just me, but I wouldn't give up having two bathrooms.
  6. Neither of us have ever gotten seasick, however, beginning with our first cruise I have always brought both Bonine and ginger capsules. They are available in many drug stores but I just order on Amazon.
  7. CAPE LIBERTY, NJ (NY METRO) Cruising HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA SYDNEY, NOVA SCOTIA CHARLOTTETOWN, PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND Cruising CORNER BROOK, NEWFOUNDLAND Cruising SEPT-ILES, QUEBEC, CANADA SAGUENAY (QUEBEC), CANADA QUEBEC CITY, QUEBEC QUEBEC CITY, QUEBEC
  8. We have been on many cruises in Europe, plus enjoy traveling in Europe by rail. My favorites are Italy, Greece, Turkey, Spain, Portugal, Canary Islands, umm well I love everywhere in Europe. These are going to be the warmer areas.
  9. We are doing B2B out of Cape Liberty NJ on RC Jewel of the Seas beginning September 28, 2023. B2B because I avoid flying whenever I can cruise instead.
  10. I wouldn't depend on them having the "egg crate" mattress pads, it would probably be best for you to bring your own.
  11. You certainly won't be "out of place". We usually go to the early show in the theater each night, 7:00ish, but rarely go to any of the clubs, bars etc. We go back to our cabin and read, relax and we're in for the night. It's your cruise, enjoy it in whatever way you choose. Cruising is a fantastic way to travel. Edit to add, we cruise everywhere but the Caribbean. A cruise ship is far easier and more pleasant than an airplane!
  12. Based on OP's opening question she/he is just concerned about lost luggage, and what to do if it happens to them. I've fortunately never experienced lost luggage, so cannot answer the questions.
  13. We always get a private car service from London to Southampton.
  14. We have always stayed in Southampton the night before boarding and will do the same on our 2024 crossing on Queen Mary2.
  15. We arrive four days prior to boarding regardless of what port or city. We're retired so we have the time to do that.
  16. I book a cruise for the itinerary, not the cruise line. I also always book with a refundable deposit. The way I look at it is, I would just as soon pay it up front and have final payment be a little less.
  17. I always book direct with the cruise line, most have been call and book, but some I have booked online. No interest in using a TA.
  18. You could also do a one way cruise, and plan some other places you would like to see in Alaska, and go by rail. We did this and spent 2 or 3 nights in each place, really enjoyed it.
  19. 51 nights, it was b2b2b2b if that counts, all in Europe. Our first cruise was Sydney to Honolulu on Rhapsody of the Seas 18 night. I tend to book consecutive cruises, it's just so nice to not have to get off the ship.
  20. Royal Caribbean... Yes Celebrity... Yes Cunard... Yes NCL... Never Carnival... Never
  21. When we did our Alaska cruise it was Vancouver to Seward on Radiance of the Seas. Beautiful ship and beautiful scenery. On the ship it wasn't much different then any other cruise, but we don't do Caribbean so can't compare to those. After we left the ship we traveled in Alaska by rail and saw a lot more, really enjoyed spending a few days in each town, then on the train to our next stop.
  22. I am also an over packer except for shoes. Fly with United and have no luggage fees, so no real need to change. I take enough for seven days, with a few extra tops, extra undies, sleep shirts. Always take a raincoat, and for our trip coming up in August will take both a light and a heavier jacket, neck scarf and gloves. Also take my own pillow, always.
  23. Thank you for the great review! We also never dine in MDR. We will be on Summit August 6-30, can't wait!
