  1. They are not. You pay extra for appetizers. Jonathan
  2. You can get an envelope from the reservations desk or else just hand some cash to your servers on the last evening. Jonathan
  3. I would suggest doing at minimum a 5-night cruise as the short 3-nighters tend to attract a very rowdy crowd. Celebrity Cruise Line is terrific, beautiful ships, great service Celebrity Summit recently refurbished does 4 night Key West an Bahamas cruises & 5-night cruises Western Caribbean (Mexico) both round trip from Miami in Feb/March Royal Caribbean Cruise Line - (Celebrity Parent Company) - Mariner of the Seas - offers a 5-night Western Caribbean with Perfect Day at Coco Cay in Feb/March roundtrip from Port Canaveral. More of a party vibe on Royal but, tremendous cruise line, excellent ships, plenty to do on board, you would have a blast. Happy Cruise Planning. Jonathan
  4. They only want to see that the test was done by a reliable pharmacy you don't need a QR code, just a standard email. Jonathan
  5. Usually 10 am. But, recently they have been making a concerted effort to debark everyone as fast as possible. You will be assigned a specific debark time. They can't start boarding the next cruise until everyone is off the ship. Jonathan
  6. The shot should be your last resort. It really knocks you out and you won't feel alert for a full 24 hours. Try the over the counter methods first. Maybe your cousin will be so excited about the cruise she'll forger about her sea sickness. Jonathan
  7. The best perk of booking a cruise sponsored excursion is the ship waits for you. We certainly have booked private tours in port. But, for long day trips I book with the ship. On two separate occasions the HAL Noordam waited for us, once in the Caribbean and another time in Monte Carlo, Monaco. It costs a bit more but, that peace of mind is worth every penny. Happy Cruising. Jonathan
  8. We sail every winter from Cape Liberty in Bayonne, New Jersey aboard the Anthem of the Seas. It's a very modern cruise port facility. The service is swift and efficient. We wish more cruise lines would sail from the Manhattan Cruise Ship Terminal. Super convenient if you live in the city and there's nothing like that sail away gazing at the dramatic New York skyline. Jonathan
  9. During the winter it's just a short car ride to New Jersey for a cruise to the Bahamas aboard Anthem of the Seas. This August we're traveling to Southampton, England for a 12-night British Isles cruise aboard Emerald Princess. Still dreaming of doing the World Cruise though that leaves conveniently from New York aboard the QM2. Jonathan
  10. Wow. You guys are in for a treat. The Edge Class ships are out of this world. Another cruising dimension altogether. If a sky class suite is in your budget you will never want to leave the ship. Either way you have an amazing cruise. Jonathan
  11. Hi Boastsrfun, Welcome to Cruise Critic. I would highly recommend you choose the Royal Caribbean Odyssey of the Seas cruise. Odyssey is the newest Quantum Class ship and the first-ever in the Ultra-Class series. My wife and I cruise sister ship Anthem every February and it is absolutely Not a "mob scene" as referenced above. These ships are state of the art, contemporary with elegant, comfortable public spaces and array of unique specialty restaurants and plenty of on board attractions to keep you busy. If the choice was one of the newer HAL ships there might be some competition but, hands down you should pick the Odyssey of the Seas cruise and don't look back. You will have a fabulous time. Just noticed you chose the 11-night Celebrity Reflection cruise. Wise choice, longer cruise is always the right choice and Celebrity is a terrific cruise line. Reflection has recently been "Revolutionized" so practically like cruising on a new ship. Have a great time. Jonathan
  12. You're not allowed to bring plants or fruits on board but, typically packaged items are fine. Jonathan
  13. Since you're a first time cruiser it's a good idea to book some excursions with the cruise line. Ship excursions will be best for locations that are a distance from the port stop. Some of your port stops you'll be able to do on your own just walking around the city or village. Plan on booking two or three of the excursions that most appeal to you. The European excursions are usually very good. The cruise line has been working with these vendors for years and you can depend on them. Much better than going with a third party outfit like Viator which is a crap shoot. The major benefit of booking cruise line excursions is if the trip is late returning to port the ship will wait for you. If your independent excursions is late you'll have problems. On two separate cruises Holland America Line's Noordam waited for us to return from ship sponsored tours. Have fun researching your excursions and have a great cruise. Jonathan
