  1. We had a DSV on the Apex in March and will have the same one in a few weeks. DH likes it better than I do, but it's fine. The veranda is a little dark but didn't notice in the room. We kept the chairs angled, and we never eat out there and are rarely out there together. For me I have to have the bed by the closet; it's pretty tight walking between the wall and end of the bed, especially in the dark during the night. We've done SV twice before they got priced up, really nice.
  2. Thanks for your great review! Do you know if the ship offered any kind of shuttle? We're on June 25. Sorry you missed the currywurst! We were stationed in Stuttgart for four years and loved the currywurst and the curry ketchup. Good reminder for me to look for curry ketchup and pommes sauce when we are at Warnemunde. I love checking out grocery stores when we do foreign travel. Enjoy the rest of your cruise.
  3. Club often closed pre-dinner for rehearsals and special events.
  4. We've been on the Apex twice, September 2021, March 2023 and will be on next month. We found in March the Club was often closed to guestś pre-dinner. There were either rehearsals for evening shows in the Club, or Captain's Club events.
  5. Thank you so much for this Live!! Excited to follow you as we're onboard June 25 for same cruise and staying in Rotterdam pre-cruise. Have a wonderful time on the Apex!!
  6. We've sailed on E class four times; three times in SV and once in DPV. We're just booking a northern European cruise on Apex and are again booking DPV. I wanted to try an IV but DH prefers DPV so we'll go with that. May try an IV on a Caribbean cruise when a balcony is too hot and sunny. Love the SV but Celebrity has priced them up plus they go fast.
  7. Great review, tks! We love the Apex (first cruise in Sept. 2021 only 387 passengers), were on again March 4, and maybe in June. Also been on Edge, and Equinox many times. Overall a line with something for everyone and beautiful ships!
  8. Thanks for your live posting! Always look forward to following your and Iains' travels. We were on the Apex to Key West in early March, and also in September 2021 out of Piraeus with only 387 pax. Are currently looking at her for this June 25 in Scandinavia. Can't keep DH off the sea after 30 years in the Navy. Wishing you both healthy and happy travels! Kristin
  9. Thanks for the wonderful week plus of posting. Loved seeing you and Gen Z enjoying a special cruise together!
  10. Just off Apex today. Had perfect prime rib last night.
  11. Gorgeous and how sweet! I'm almost as excited for your cruise as I am for ours next Saturday.
  12. Yay, how exciting for you two! Bummed as we board Apex 3/4 (were also on for two weeks Sept. '22! Looking forward to your live and will be following closely.
  13. Charla, thanks for the great pics and reviews! So appreciate the time you take to post during your holiday. DH frequently asks "Is Generation X cruising?" as he enjoys hearing about your adventures too.
  14. There seems to be much confusion over future cruise deposits/certificates made onboard by X. We paid $200 in future cruise deposits for two of us while cruising in September on the Apex. We were given a Celebrity form listing name, date, amount paid and confirmation number. Our credit card was charged that day. Booking a cruise two days ago, our TA was told no record of deposit. We provided confirmation number and photo along with credit card charge. X denied saying confirmation number and our paper was not the certificate number they required, but that was only paper we were given. After much back and forth our TA was able to get the full amount of onboard credit due. Bait and switch? Not a good way to do business.
