  1. As has been mentioned the transportation passes are not sold on the ship. They are sold at the Visitor Infomation Center.. They also have been selling them in the morning just off the ship in addition to the VIC. The buses will take tokens or exact change. The ferry will take a token or exact cash. (coins not required). Transportation passes. one, two or three days are good on both buses or ferries. If you decide on passes the 3 day is probably not worth it because you won't have time the last day to take multiple trips. So a two day would be more effective. It is worth having an idea what you will be doing to decide if you want passes. Myself I don't get the passes because I don't take buses and ferrries exclusively. To go to Horseshoe Bay I take a $7 shuttle or a taxi. That avoids walking up a high hill from the beach. To Hamiton or St. George I take a ferry and from either I might take either a bus or taxi somewhere. or not So I have cash for taxis and tokens for buses. Some like the convience of the passes even though it will cost more than getting individual tokens. I take a lot of taxis now because I don't like waiting for the buses since they have become somewhat unrelaiable in recent years but also I am not on a budget these days. I only take ferries and taxis. In addition there are usually at least three of us and after adding it all up splitting a taxi becomes not all that much more. As Wineaux007 posted in post #3. It is worth doing the math.
  2. That makes sense 😀 As master you had experience in these matters and are replying based on actual experience. We on the other hand are having a subjective reaction to the photo based on the death of a toddler a few years ago toddler.
  3. No master could possibly read off every reason someone could be disembarked. It is redicoulous that the master would have to specifically note sitting on the railing or any other dangerous activity.. I do get though that cruise line management might take that stance as a lot of busnesses and operate by a customer is always right mantra. So the dangerous person may in fact only be given a warning.
  4. They should be removed from the ship. So obvious. Kids move around and could easily slip from the parent. It certainly is dangerous.
  5. It has never been necessary. That is why they are called E Docs . E stands for electronic. 😀 I only print the luggage tags. I do export the PDF to my tablet and phone for reference but even that is not necessary.
  6. Yep 51 satellites this morning. They have launched over 3000 satellites with definite plans to launch 12,000. They might extend that to 40,000.
  7. The Travel Authorization was discontinued on November 13, 2023. No covid tests required. Vaccination not required. No $40 fee.
  8. There are two seat electric mini cars available to rent. I would not do those myself because I don't like driving on the other side and the road congestion but it is an option.
  9. No need to book through Viator. It is less expensive to take a taxi or bus. The Cave admisson includes a guide. You mentioned Parkinsons, Be aware that the caves are 88 steps down and back up. If you want to do a tour book direct with a local operator. Viator is middleman that you don't need to use in Bermuda.
  10. I did an 8 day land vacation in Iceland. I don't see much advantage to a cruise around but of course we only did land tours. Iceland was near the top of the places I have been and we will return but on land for sure. If you get seasick no need at all to do a cruise. Do a land vacation.
  11. In the thread that was started last Sunday where I predicted that it was only a matter of time before Oceania got Starlink after I looked into it I was surprised to the resistance from some posters to Oceania getting Starlink. As you say they don't have to use it.
  12. I recieve the state department travel advisories by email. Generally the advisories are not relevant for the type of travel and acivities done at ports by cruise passengers.
  13. I wonder if Mexico has warnings about visiting the USA? The news has not been good....
  14. The only way to get to Blue Lagoon is on the their ferry. No other way. If their website shows no availability they are sold out. Capacity is not infinite. In regards to three ships there are a lot of resorts including Atlantis. Those visitors book Blue Lagoon through their resort. I would guess that the Bahamas is a popular destination in April. Probably a lot of visitors on spring break. Besides the beach day Blue Lagoon has dolphin encounters, Sea Lion encounters, Stingray, snorkeling and Segway’s. So it it is a big draw. I have been there four times because unfortunately we have not found a Nassau excursion as nice.
  15. There are usually several Blue Lagoon options. If they have the stingray option check and see if that is sold out too. You can skip the stingrays. No lunch but the lunch is not worth it. You can book it direct if they have availability but then instead of catching their ferry at the cruise ship dock you will have to take a private taxi to the ferry terminal on Paradise Island. Booking through the cruise line is better. .
  16. So a little research. Grand Turk was on their original itinerary and has been replaced with Bermuda. Been to Grand Turk about 4 times not sure why anyone would choose a sailing just for Grand Turk but both the original and modified 11 day itinerary rt from New York in February (Brrr) have plenty of other ports. I don't think it was a cruise that most would choose for any one port. Bermuda in March is odd as it won't be all that warm there then. Pleasant but not beach weather. Possibly NCL made the change because Grand Turk requires vacination?
  17. Other cruise ships than Carnival Corp have called there but that has been rare. Most calls are Carnival Corp. Carnival Corp did build it. I googled that to check my memory. ” The Grand Turk Cruise Center is the only cruise port in the Turks and Caicos, and the $50 million complex was opened by Carnival Cruise Lines in 2006.”
  18. NCL is testing Starlink on NCL Breakaway. You said in you initial post that there was not a mention. You asked where the heck they were. Turns out they are somewhere. Starlink is still rolling out their service though so even with Starlink there are holes coverage. Starlink does not have unlimited bandwith either. There have been speed slowdowns. Every cruise line and ship probably can't have Starlink yet.
  19. Bikes do have weight limits. Depends on the type of bike and the frame material. I suspect OP won't be happy with me for posting this but it is what it is. There are bikes for heavy bike riders but the tour companies might not own such bikes.
  20. Sorry to contradict you but bikes do have weight limits. A road bike might have a limit of 275 or 300 lbs. There are bikes with a higher limit for heavy riders, but we don't know what brand or type of bikes the tour company is using. Say for example their bikes have a limit of 275 lbs than they might be setting 250 lbs so there is some margin for error.
  21. You can cross the border with an EDL on Amtrak. That info is on their website. I would check the ferry company website but they probably have the same requirements. https://www.amtrak.com/crossing-the-us-canadian-border
  22. Yes...... hopefully they know that a Real ID drivers licence and an Enhanced Drivers License are not the same thing and that neither can be used to fly back from Vancouver to Michigan.
  23. Probably if they want to rent on Sunday they will have to rent from Oleander at the Dockyard and do a roundtrip back to the Dockyard. Most on cruisers who have rented bikes and posted about it have done that. https://www.gotobermuda.com/inspiration/article/walk-run-or-cycle-bermuda-railway-trail-national-park https://www.bermudarailway.net/trail/taking-trail/ https://www.alltrails.com/trail/bermuda/devonshire/railway-trail?u=i
