  1. Do you think she lets him of to the beach or the pool?
  2. Her husband broke her rule and looked so it is Princess's fault.
  3. People have called to complain about reduced dinner service in the Oceanview Cafe where shorts are allowed and were told they can wear shorts in the MDR. That is what this thread is about. Do you think Celebrity reps would give out BS ? Would not surprise me but maybe they were telling what will be a new policy. So will you be booking with another cruise line if shorts are allowed in the MDR? I think your reply was condescending.
  4. I agree that there is no proof. Yet.....What someone says on the phone is not proof. I do believe that it may be relaxed or enfocement of no shorts ignored. So I await actual onboard reports. I don't care if shorts are permitted or not. Been on cruise lines where it is permitted and has had neither a negative or positive effect on me. It was what it was. It is silly to be bothered by people wearing shorts in the MDR. I have been at tables where someone was wearing shorts and I did not even notice until they stood up at the end of dinner.
  5. If there were any cause and effect it was the other way around. As the mainstream cruise lines cut the food quality people didn’t see the point of dressing up special.
  6. Yes but many are more comfortable in shorts. In this day and age it seems old fashioned to not allow nice shorts. It wouldn't bother me. I have been on cruise lines that allow shorts and it did not bother me or effect me. I think there is a strong case if the Oceanview is no longer suitable as a casual alternative for allowing shorts in the MDR. However I am not convinced that the cutbacks have crossed that line.
  7. Not me. I won't be wearing shorts at dinner in the MDR. But when it is chilly in a restaurant the bottom does not bother me only the top. I see plenty of women wearing dresses or skirts so I tdon't hink the too chilly will disuade those who prefer shorts if it is allowed.
  8. Was that pre-covid or post-covid? Several cruise lines stopped allowing that. As has been mentioned they need to contact NCL for approval.
  9. They have not announced any change to the dress requests. Is there any change on the website? Wouldn't they post any reviion there? As you can see the more traditional cruisers expect no shorts and Connie I expect draws a more traditional Celebrity demographic.
  10. That will be interesting but next week might not be enough time.
  11. I live in Cowtown. I wear usually long pants in the winter. Except today it was 84 degrees. I am wearing shorts.
  12. A lot of time reps on the phone will tell you what you want to hear. Time will tell if that is the reality.
  13. I believe the question is being asked because of the cutbacks to the oceanview dining. That has been pitched as a venue of the place to have dinner and where shorts. If the cutbacks are as extreme as some claim I think people might start wearing shorts in the MDR.
  14. Shorts in the summer. It was 100 degrees for days on end here last summer.
  15. Their question was posted in the wrong forum and then moved here.
  16. For sure none would want someone doing anything in a shop class who was not certified. I took shop in high school. A lot of potential danger.
  17. Seems natural that there will be drift until the next power points opportunity.
  18. Substitutes from my experience pretty much just baby sat. Missing days of school is not good for the teacher or students. Students should not take off either for a cruise.
  19. Huh. Someone wants to impose a corkage fee for the bottles of wine exempted? I suspect that is a joke.
  20. Yep. Likely a whole buggy or cart was left behind by mistake. It is paranoia to think one bag was purposely left at port. The baggage handlers who are looking for tips may want you to think otherwise though.
  21. I don't look at it that way. I don't expect them to give it to me or that it is miserable of them. I am pretty surprised that Celebrity has been giving away points and for so long. I
  22. They claim they were told that. You are ignoring that on closed loop cruises out of US ports cruises passports are usually not required. Probably 50% of passengers on those type sailings use birth certificates. Millions have done it. You can cherry pick a few situations where there was a misunderstanding. The itinerary was not closed loop. What documents are required is confusing and the safest course is to get a passport and I recomended that OP get a passport but that does not mean a passport is required. Not sure why OP was asking the question as OP will certainly need a passport for that Alaska cruise they booked for September 2023. Maybe they want to book a last minute in between and won't have time to renew a passport.
  23. Free coffee and free bottled water. Been there and done that but if someone books a cruise for the shortfall there is the cost of the cruise and the cost of airfare unless you live in the home port area. Also the cost of a pre cruise hotel. I can’t see coming out ahead. I have been 4 points short of Diamond Plus on RCI for 3 years but not going to book just to get it. I wish Royal had done something like PUP. LOL.
  24. For a 10 day or more cruise I would just buy an unlimited package. I have done the 240 minutes and the 90 minutes which I got when Elite and got by on 7 day cruise because there was always 3 port days so I was not using minutes.
