  1. Yes the same., Every cruise line and airline warns passengers not to leave prescriptions in checked luggage.
  2. They are not a direct AT&T customer. They have Cricket which uses AT&T's network in the US. Unfortunately for OP Cricket does not offer international roaming.
  3. I don't understand why people think that on an itinerary that you can cruise with a birth cetificate that has no expiration, that a valid passport that is not expired would not be allowed. But all the time people are posting to take a birth certificate if they under 6 months on their passport. That is not logical.
  4. Yes there is coverage with AT&T. AT&T has international roaming in Bermuda,. A travel pass is $10 a day. I have done that many times in Bermuda. Cricket and othe MVNO's usually don't have international roaming. Those type of carriers are not good for international travel.
  5. There is complete certainty that they will be ok. For that itinerary all they need is a valid unexpired passport.
  6. I agree with you that poster saying six figures are cherrypicking out a few workers who have a lot of seniority and can hold the best jobs at the best locations. So most woekers proably make under $100,000 and workers starting out may not get 40 hours and make $25,000. However the workers who have the most seniority are probably likely cherrypicking the best jobs, will choose the cruise ship work. So they could be making over $100,000. When someone says longshormen make $600,000 that could be a crane operator. Crane operators in any industry command high wages. So what say about the median is valid. However the longshoremen who handle our bags are not tipped workers. We tip them out of custom. I will continue to do so but none should feel they have to. They are not like airport porters who do need the tips to live on. And if you decide not to tip your baggage is not going to go missing.
  7. People are calling them porters but at the ports the porters are port workers who are handling baggage. They could also be moving cargo. They make much more than $18 an hour because longshoremen are an essential occupation in our economy so the unions can negotiate better wages than other unions like nurses. If the longshoreman go on strike or have work actions it could cost business’s billions.
  8. That is true and these days I prefer Oceania over Celebrity but keep in mind that the line is very quiet and laid back. That suits me these days but it might be a shock to peeps who spend the cruise evenings at big production shows and the casino. Also it is not the cruise line to bring children. Port intensive itineraries are the sweet spot and the smaller ships can do ports Celebrity can’t do.
  9. When a bag goes missing some get paranoid like OP that was because of size of a tip or lack of tip. I don't think those employees are going to do that no matter what they make. The port worker puts the bag on a wagon or in a container. After that how are they going to even remember your bag? I don't know what they make but its not a tipped position. I tip anyone who handles my bag out of custom that's all. It is not necessary. A few bags do go missing but it is because of human error.
  10. Latin America is now included on AT&T if you have an Unlimited Plan. That includes Panama and Columbia. https://www.att.com/plans/unlimited-data-plans/roam-latin-america/
  11. It would not surprise me if they turned the Oceanview dining into a paid option for other than a basic menu.
  12. . I am confused. What am I missing? How do you stiff a bartender on a ship when the tip is automatically added and you can't change it?
  13. Over 60 sailings I have never had that happen.
  14. I had to lug my lugage on and in my room on an Oceania cruise because the Uber driver could not let us off at the right place in Manhattan. So we did not dropp off. They would not let him in at the right place. It was a miserable expereince . I would not do it. We also had hold onto our luggage until the staterooms were ready.
  15. You worry to much. I have been on over 60 cruises and my luggage always arrived at my cabin. I tip $5 per bag to the port porters.. Out of habit because it is customary in the US to tip anyone who picks up bags. In Europe I don't tip when dropping off bags at port cause no one was. On the ship the luugage is taken up elevators and then placed outside cabins. The cabin stewards do it and I don't add a tip for that. It is part of the auto paid gratuity.
  16. I have. Twice I saw senior citizen ladies fight over deck chairs.
  17. I don't like Carnival, mainly the ambiance and no quiet areas on the ship but the two cruises I had on Carnival the main dishes in the buffet and dining room were better quality than Celebrity. The deserts were lacking. Unfortunately both cruises there were activities during dinner where we were on teams that ruined the good food. Plus the servers had to dances and sing every evening. I wonder if they still do that.
  18. Actually I have found if it does not fill up in ten minutes they usually won't wait more than minutes even if not full. The vans are lined up and there is set amount of parking spaces at both ends. Usually it is full going to Horseshoe as I go between 8;30 and 9:00. But returning there are slack times so they don't always wait until it is packed full. The unfortunate thing in my opinion is that the first few years the vans held 12 to 18. Then they got vans that held 30 where all were packed like sardines. So personally now I take a taxi for $32 when I am not solo going to the beach.
  19. It is seasonal too. So they may not be working 40 hours a week at some ports.
  20. Over the years I noticed they often claimed cutbacks were an improvement for guests.
  21. I said in one of my posts that the reason the app worked on iPads was incidental. The code for iPhone apps will work on iPads. The developer does not have to do anything. But it is clearly an iPhone app designed for phones as it does not run full screen on a iPad. All Celebrity has to do is test their apps on iPhones betas each year, maybe make some code change for the iPhone app for the next OS version and it will incidentally run that way on an iPad. There is no guarantee that will be the case in the future and Apple has forked the iPhone OS from the iPad OS. It clearly is not supported on iPads. It runs without active support.
  22. I don’t expect to get fresh fish. Lobster tails are more flavorful if they are boiled live and served. If I order lobster at a restaurant I get the whole lobster not just the tails. We always had it available when I lived on the east coast so it did not mean as much to me as to passengers who did not go to restaurants that served Maine lobster. That is not to say that the rock lobster served on HAL and Princess is terrible or they should not have that lobster on the menu. What they serve onboard is meh but Lobster night on mass market lines is a tradition. They probably should not mess with that tradition.
  23. Pretty easy to figure out. She is on Reflection. December 31 sailing.
  24. That is not technically possible. In any case they are not blocking tablets they just don't update the code. Some reported that it works on Android 11. So code has to be rewritten to work on Andriod 12 as Android 12 broke the app. They update Android every year and are now in Android 13. If they wanted to support tablets on Android they need to test their app on devices during the beta period. The evidence seems to be they have decided not to. A buseness decision.
