  1. Probably if they want to rent on Sunday they will have to rent from Oleander at the Dockyard and do a roundtrip back to the Dockyard. Most on cruisers who have rented bikes and posted about it have done that. https://www.gotobermuda.com/inspiration/article/walk-run-or-cycle-bermuda-railway-trail-national-park https://www.bermudarailway.net/trail/taking-trail/ https://www.alltrails.com/trail/bermuda/devonshire/railway-trail?u=i
  2. The current provider used by cruise ships has been able to charge high prices because they had no competition. Starlink is ahead of the game for low orbit satellites launched partly because of US government subsidies (yes US taxpayers paid billions for it to provide rural service) but Amazon and other companies are doing the same and have made large investments and are also launching satellites. I think the cost of satellite internet will be coming down not going up.
  3. The Island Tour Centre offers a private tour but they also have a 250 pound weight restriction. Likely it is the same tour as NCL offers. Your only option may be to rent without a private tour but the bike rental without a tour might also have a weight restriction. What about electric bikes. There are private electric bike tours out of St. George.
  4. Oceania could reconsider including interent but their costs are going to be lower with Starlink when they can totally disconnect from their current service provider. They can't do that yet because Starlink satellite coverage is not complete but it will be as they are launching new satelites all the time. They are also launching their competitors satellites. Going back to paid interent is totally a busness and marketing decision. While the quality of Starlink is an upgrade compared to the currrent service it would in reality be a replacement. A less expensive replacement. That is whay Royal caribbean Group, Carnival Corp and Azamara have moved fast to install it. You may think Starlink terminals and monthly service costs more than what the cruise lines are using now. Starlink hardware and monthly charges are less. So no doubt everly cruise ship in the world will be using Starlink. Better quality for less cost. A win for the cruise lines anf for cruise passengers.
  5. Possibly they would charge extra. Since Starlink does not work everywhere in the world yet they might not charge extra. It may not be cost effective to charge extra. Starlink is not difficult to install. Takes about a day to add the antennas. Other cruise lines have left their previous charge levels in place. It has been an upgrade rather than an added service. Likely everyone who uses internet onboard will have Starlink when it is installed.
  6. Your point is nonsense. Oceania passengers will be very happy to get better quality internet. And they will get it. Starlink is selling their service to all takers and it appears pretty easy to add to ships. Probably every cruise ship in the world will have Starlink before the end of the year.
  7. Yep you are right. It is being tested on NCL Breakaway. https://cruiseindustrynews.com/cruise-news/2022/11/norwegian-cruise-line-tests-spacex-starlink-on-norwegian-breakaway/
  8. Your reply makes no sense. Oceania ships have internet. When Oceania upgrades to Starlink service, which it will or something like it, it won’t make any difference to you enjoyment of your vacation. If you put your phone in the safe in the past you can continue to put your phone in the safe as can anyone else.
  9. Yep, a couple of ladies brought a dog onboard an Amtrak train and said it was a service dog. The dog pooped in the aisle. Real service dogs are trianed to wait They were put off the train and the media were all outraged. The media were not outraged that the two ladies lied about the dog being a service dog.
  10. RCCL signed up first. Now Carnival Corp. No doubt NCLH will sign shortly. Probably already negotiating. Signing up does not mean instant Starlink. It is a rollout. There are logistics on the ship and for Starlink. More satellites are going up every month. In other words be patient. Oceania ships will get Starlink or something like it.
  11. Wow. You are the third person on this thread using a 7 year old obsolete iPad mini 4. One of the three says no problems. I have tried to recreate your issues by changing settings as I suspect some setting may have beeps changed to cause the problem but have not been able to replicate. One thing to try is to go to settings>general and reset your iPad. See if that resolves the issue.
  12. Being right can get you into a whole lot of trouble. It is not wise to possibly ruin your vacation if it escalates. Go to the MaitreD and ask them to resolve the the issue.
  13. OP is probably asking about Yeshiva Week. Supposidly the large group is somehow disruptive.. I sailed on Harmony of the Seas a few years ago the first week of two Yeshiva weeks. That is smaller one and not with many children. I had read horror stories. I think the younger people were on the folowing week. Certainly it was not disruptive on my sailing. OP can google Yeshiva week. It appears the 2023 Yeshiva week cruise will be on NCL Epic out of San Juan from google. But I don't know if there is more than one Yeshiva week cruise. No dates for 2024.
  14. I have had plenty of issues with flights booked directly with the airlines. What could make FBC problematic is that if there are normal airline problems you have a third party added to the mix. I aways compare the FBC with direct through the airline because with most airlines except Southwest and Jet Blue all flights have to be on the same airline. FBC has been able to mix airlines which has worked out to be advantagous. Once I even got refunadable flights for the same fare as non refundable. For a transatlantic cruise which was one way air I paid half of what I would have through the airline. I always get the actual airline record locator and keep track of my flights on the airline website.
  15. I suggest reading the other thread. It might work work on some Android tablets but it does not work on all Android tablet. Celebrity does not support the app on tablets. The app is a smartphone app.
  16. Correct. It is a smartphone app. There was a recent thread that might provide you with some insight.
  17. The travel authorization requirement was ended on November 13, 2022. So currently no fees, test or vaccination requirements.
  18. The ships stay docked the whole three days and the gangway is open 24 hours. There is no way of knowing which side the ship will face. Theycan and do dock either way. One side will face the Royal Dockyard and the other side will face the Great Sound. So there will be land on both sides as there is land on the other side of the Great Sound. It is not open sea.
  19. Carnival Corp built the dock and port area on Grand Turk so it would be unusual for other cruise ships to be schedualed.
  20. For some reason there are people who want us to hear their choice of music and not surprisingly their prefered music tends to be lousy. I like to listen to music at the pool too but I do it with personal AirPods. I don't impose on other people.
  21. I will keep that in mind and not book Anthem of the Seas this year.
  22. Good advice but I had LSA's who were just like the ship dining staff. They did not do anything. I walked into the dining car and there was a boombox playing. No one bothered to tell the conductor.
  23. That is a bad idea. You don't want to get into a confrontation with a group. You will be outnumbered. Go to the maitre'd. If they sense a biiger issue they can call security.
  24. You were afraid to tattle. I expect the crew members were too. Sorry but you were wrong not to complain to the maitre'd. Discreetetly of course. You have to stand up for yourself. The dining crew is scared to rock the boat on cruise ships, That are at the passengers mercy. I have seen that happen some times so we must go to a supervisor. A supervisor can have security back them up if need be.
