  1. I was issued a flip phone at work. They lasted about four months and then they got me a new one. When the iPhone 4 came out about four years iafter the first one we were issued those. They never broke. Some coworkers managed to crack their screens or went swimming with them which didn't work out. The last few years you can get hem wet or drop them with not much chnce of damage. The iPhone that was sucked out of the Boeing jet recently was still working after a long drop, 16,000 feet. https://www.theverge.com/2024/1/8/24029806/boeing-737-max-9-iphone-found-working
  2. Bell notifications are down again. Last one I got was 15 hours ago.
  3. I have a throw out email address I can give out that is only for that purpose. Interestingly I have been able to keep the same throw away account for 18 years. All the spam has ended up in a spam folder.
  4. The shore excursion staff may have a place you can store your clubs.
  5. As you noted they don’t have the schedule yet for summer 24. I believe the summer schedule wasn’t even available until the last week of April. The summer schedule with service to St. George’s went into effect May 2.
  6. That is true but if on a cruise wait until the end of the cruise to contact the US embassy for a new one.
  7. They take US dollars. Everywhre in Bermuda. Don't exchange for Bermuda currency unless you want a souvenir. Bermuda dollars are pegged to the US Dollar but are not exchangable. You might find a driver who takes credit cards but most of the drivers still don't.
  8. I don’t get pounds because they are used only in one country and it could be years before I return. I hope I can still travel in my 80’s! I can still lug luggage but I only take one checked bag and a personal item on an overseas cruise. Other international travel only a carry on. Seeing how things are going I wouldn’t be surprised if when I am in my 80’s I decide to utilize a porter.
  9. What port? Unfortunately it sounds like you screwed up if from a US port. Then you don’t have a case. They can’t violate the law.
  10. I spent 8 days in the UK and never got any pounds. Stayed in the West End saw four shows. Didn’t need any money for tips as I didn’t take any tours but if I had needed any cash I would have got some from an ATM as needed. Very simple. Plenty of ATMs. There are ATMs at the airport if you think you must have some pounds. Much better exchange rate too. I have been getting cash at ATMs for years. My bank charges no fees. Make sure though to use a bank ATM for best exchange rate and press no if it suggests converting transaction to USD.
  11. I do like to have a modest amount of leftover Euros because there are so many countries that use them and I know I will likely travel in the furture to some of them. I have even used leftover Euros on the french side of St. Marteen in the Caribbean. Other currencies I don't want.
  12. The exchange rate at ATMs is better than any rate you can get in the US.
  13. I never get any currency ahead of time anymore. In the UK last trip for 8 days I used tap and pay for everything. I used tap and pay in Europe too. I did get a small amount of Euros at an ATM to tip tour guides. Some countries like Iceland they don't want cash.
  14. This topic is specifically about Princess’s smoking policies.
  15. We were swimming in the pool on the ship at North Cape. So cool in the pool inside the arctic circle.
  16. It wouldn't matter if they could. There could be a lot of reasons to book with another TA. For example I have booked with other than my normal TA who I am quite happy with to sail with a group. Book with whoever you please.
  17. My layering system is fleece, Arcteryx Atom LT hoodie and a pouch rain jacket. They can all fit in my day pack. The day pack is important because as the weather changes I can have a place for adding and removing the layers. This system worked well for Norway, Iceland and Yellowstone.
  18. I cruised almost those same ports in July. You don’t need long underwear. Layers. Take an all around jacket like an Arcteryx Atom LT hoodie. The weather varied between 60 and 80. The 80 was in the Arctic Circle at North Cape! (Honningsvag) You also need a rain shell.
  19. FYI. If anyone in your group is sesnsitive to perfume the oder is strong. Someone in my group had to leave immediately.
  20. It is not a long walk but there are a couple of hills. If you go up the first street from Pennos Wharf it is steeper but that runs directly to York. Perfumery is on Queen before St. Peters location. If you take the second street to Water St. then ts it is not as steep but at Queen you have to go uphill. Either way have to go uphill. Up Queen to the Perfumery from York is is steep too but not a long stretch. It is near St. Peters , Queen St. just before which has steps up from York to get to the church. If you visit the church and go out the back way through the cemetery the Perfumery is there. When you say mobility issues that could mean different issues The Perfumery entrance is not what I would call accessible. There are no ramps.
  21. Your name might be on a watch list. The immigration officer might not tell you.
