  1. One couple I was talking to at breakfast caught the local bus and didn't have any trouble doing so. Another option is the company beeleharve.com that run a shuttle service there, though I haven't spoken to anyone who used them. On the princess tour we took the scenic route there (one hour) and the fast way back (half an hour) But of course I paid a lot to see a bit extra out a bus window and of course if you use the local bus you can spend how much time you want there and not just have 1 hour free time. All the shopkeepers spoke English, just learn to say bonjour and merci and you will be all right.
  2. Good to meet you too Julie. What can say, it's a small world or rather It's a small ship. By the way Julie's team scored three more points than our team in trivia, but who's counting. 😄
  3. Our day in Le Havre. We docked on time and the French authorities came on board and took their time to clear the ship so the early tours were delayed by about half an hour. We had beautiful weather for the day in Normandy and I went to Honfleur and my husband went to the landing beaches. Honfleur was a very pretty small town and we walked around the old port with the guide and had an hour free. All of the shop keepers were very friendly and welcoming in the main tourist district. My husband loved his tour and was happy with the amount of time in each stop. He really enjoyed his included lunch at a small fishing village and wine and calvados was included. Back at the port there was a free shuttle to take you to town. The last one leaving Le Harve at 6pm. Talking to passengers who went to Le Harve they had a pleasant day. Showtime was a female who sang Queen songs, she was enjoyable and had been in the stage production of Queen in London. She had a lovely voice and but I couldn't help but think about the Freddy Mercury guy from New Zealand who entertains on the cruise ships in the Pacific, some of you will remember him, he had the false teeth for the overbite and really played up on stage to present a funny show. The passengers doing the whole cruise have been very welcoming to us newbies on board and we are having a great time. It been wonderful seeing the guest enter4tainers from this side of the world, they are all new to me.
  4. You know there is a surcharge for a cabin with a working toilet.
  5. Here's another reason not to sail on this ship. The Goddess of the Night has been detained in an Italian port while an investigation is conducted into pour sanitary conditions. According to the article below it was being used to provide "hotel rooms" for the extra police needed for the Group of Seven summit. The Police were surprised the number of cabins without the basic facilities of working toilets and air conditioning. https://www.seatrade-cruise.com/ship-operations/goddess-night-reported-detained-italy
  6. I caught your video on it earlier today explaining everything.🙂
  7. I hope they it doesn't follow them into the Baltic. Excellent, that's when we will be turning up in the UK. Right now at home it is cold, raining, blowing a gale and getting dark very early so I'm looking forward to some nice weather. 🙂
  8. That's good to know, I was a little worried about them. Hopefully they will have more opportunities under Carnival and maybe even go to work in different places in the world.
  9. I enjoyed all your photos but the one in Mogan were just beautiful.
  10. These photos were taken in early December when the Christmas decorations were starting to be put out. Unfortunately I got off before Christmas as I would have loved to see the rest of the decorations.
  11. I'm impressed with the port information Princess have given you for each stop. I see that Dover has an average high of 17 degrees in June, that's a little lower than I than I thought. We are staying there for 6 days soon and with a average morning low of around 12 degrees I glad we are hiring a car to go around in. It may have been a little chilli walking up to the train station early in the morning. I'll be interested to see the average temperatures for Edinburgh 😲
  12. Hope you not feeling too bad and get over it quickly. Hopefully you won't miss any ports you really had your heart set on. I feel for you, that would be a little frustrating thinking if I had to get it, why not at the start of the sea days and not at the end of them.
  13. Looks like you made good use of your time. I love sea days and will pack accordingly to fill in the time but even for me ten may have been a few too many.😁
  14. Singapore is very interesting if you haven't been there before. There's lots to see and do in the city so it makes a great start or end cruise port. Sydney is great too especially for English speakers but Singapore is a little more westerners and on both cruises you will see a bit of Sydney.
  15. We boarded the Royal Princess In Honolulu last year in October, besides from check-in staff there were also customs officers there to check and scan our passports in the first room we entered. Your friends would have to find out what between what time the customs officers were there as well.
  16. Good to see that there are still some cheap cruises to be had I just have to adjust my under a $100 a day for an interior a little bit. Maybe I need to think a cheap cruise is one under $125 a day per person. A pity as $100 was so easy to work out. 😁
  17. I've done an Alaskan cruise but unfortunately it didn't call into Victoria so I'm looking forward to all of it, especially your thoughts on Vancouver Island. 🙂
  18. Pretty much spot on. I calculated the daily rate for a future Europe cruise on Princess that we have booked and came out at $24.27 per person per day. For a couple you may as well budget for an extra $50 AUS between you each day.
  19. I agree for an inside cabin plus airfares, I too will be looking elsewhere.
  20. So have I, unfortunately I didn't buy enough of them. 😁 I can buy them at home but they are so much better in Lisbon
  21. I received mine in the mail this week, it is obviously aimed at the Australian market as it has articles on the Crown Princess World Cruise 2026, Jill Whelan spreads love in Australia and Sydney Swans and Princess (a football team not the birds)
  22. I'm disappointed for you as that was a fantastic cruise. In no way does the round Australia cruise even come close to being the same cruise. It makes me think twice about booking any Princess cruise too far in the future with them.
  23. I don't have one of those magic beds at home but when I'm on a cruise I always have one as well as a magic bathroom. And those magic menus definitely don't work at home either as I see my husband with a dazed look in his eyes wondering when he's going to be handed the menu.
  24. There goes the round trip Hawaii and Tahiti cruise. Sorry for all the passengers booked out of Sydney and Brisbane on her.
