  1. We were told on one cruise by the section waiter there was always an Indian dish on offer in the MDR each night but it wasn't always on the menu You had to ask your waiter about the Indian selections. This was after Princess dropped the Indian/ Italian etc menu nights from the MDR. It may be the Indian dish from the buffet but if other family members want to eat in the MDR it would work out to order it in the MDR.
  2. Maybe it's harder to snore sitting upright. As you see I have only been in the cheaper seats, back in economy class. 😁 There may be some snorers in business class lying down on their beds.
  3. 28 nights, Pacific Explorer on the 6th June 2024 departing Sydney or Brisbane on the 4th. It's going to Ambon Indonesia as its one overseas stop, great to see a different port in the itinerary. From $3,840 inside, $5499 window and $6808 balcony on a cruise TA site. It may be a rough ride down south in June.
  4. I was on the Majestic with only 6 covered seats, it was a 28 day cruise so maybe for the longer cruises less people take out the more expensive package.
  5. I don't know if this has anything to do with your situation or not but I thought I'd mention it. I've just looked at our browser history and we used Firefox to start with and then swapped across to Microsoft Edge which worked for us.
  6. We had problems with the HSBC refund from Princess. We filled out the form after getting the 1st email from them of course we didn't have the code (they said they had sent us one) , checked phone texts and emails for it. We requested a code, they sent us one and it didn't work, we did this three times and gave up. Anyway we did as much as we could without the code and then tried again in about 5 days and the code they sent us this time worked. We did get the refund but it shouldn't have been that frustrating and difficult. This was quiet a few months ago now I'm disappointed that they have not fixed the bugs in the system.
  7. I didn't know there was a walk behind the resort (I have only been there once). Sounds good, I will have to try that next time. Thanks for posting, you learn something new every day.
  8. I had a look at it and it's a great cruise I'm tempted to fly to Singapore and board there instead of Sydney.
  9. We were on the Adventure in early June and we were able to book the included restaurants on the cruise control a little before the cruise sailed. There were time slots to chose from and once we boarded there was a sheet of paper in our cabin with the same time for each night, the date and name of the restaurant. They they rotated us around the three dining rooms for the duration of the cruise. I think they said if we did it this way we couldn't change for the first three nights but afterwards we could swap restaurants. Our time slot was held for us for 15 minutes in the dining room each night. So if you had a time of 6pm you had to arrive between 6 to 6:15 pm.

    Kona tenders

Hi, I hope this helps even though it was so long ago now. We were there about five years ago on the Golden Princess and we had an industrial port for Hilo and a tender for Kona which came into Kona at a small wharf near the Courtyard by Marriot. The ship was close to shore as shown in the photo.
  11. I hope for the passengers that the post you read got it wrong and they will get there on time. When we went to Petra on a Princess excursion we left Aqaba early and arrived back at the ship in the dark, it was a very long day. It would be very disappointing and upsetting for people who hadn't been there before as it is such an important port of call.
  12. You'll make it on time. Stay positive! Have a great day there whatever you're doing. It's an area full of wonderful things to see. I can't wait to go back some day. No doubt a lot of the crew will head out as well on the buses. The day I was there there were about 6 crew buses that headed up to Petra.
  13. I only saw apple and orange juice on the breakfast drink trays. Maybe you could get it for free if you asked. Maybe... There were certainly more choices up at the buffet but we only went there on the last day so I didn't take any notice as we were in a rush on the last day.
  14. Same for me. Good point. You've made me feel better now.
  15. This was from the Pacific Adventure two weeks ago.
  16. We were on the next cruise after the fire and on boarding day one of our room stewards gave us a safety lecture and tour of the cabin and reminded us that smoking was not allowed in the cabin or on the balcony. Good to hear that they were reminding and warning people about smoking in rooms and on their balcony before the fire.
  17. I just read the inclusions in the Princess Premier for my cruise Honolulu to Sydney and I can still upgrade to it for my October cruise. If you haven't sailed yet see if there is a banner up the top of your payment page trying to get you to add it on. The list of inclusions does not include the daily tips for me for this cruise.
  18. I don't know where it is in writing on the Princess site but it goes that cruises leaving and then returning to Australia, this includes round trip cruises out of Australia and all segments of the world cruise on the Coral/Crown have the tips built into the fare if you book them in Australia. For relocation cruises to Asia from Australia and vice versa the tips are built into the fare But for relocation cruises to Australia from the USA and vice versa tips are not included in the fare and you will have on your payment page of your booking a crew appreciation pre-payment option. Any overseas Princess cruise such as an Alaskan one even booked in Australia does not include tips and these will be added to your daily account if not prepaid.
  19. We docked in December in Eden on the Westerdam and it was great getting on and off the ship. In March on the Majestic there was tendering and while it was OK getting off the ship I waited in line for 40 minutes to get back on the tenders from about 11:45am. We were told to try to avoid 2pm-3:30pm, I did but maybe a lot of other people did as well. I was going back to the ship for lunch as the small town was extremely busy at the food and drink outlets with such a large ship in town. I loved the port of Eden but would prefer a smaller ship and docking to go there.
  20. I'm on the same cruise and in the pre-cruise email from a couple of days ago it clearly stated that you had to have the covid insurance and it would be checked at the terminal. Well, we'll see on Tuesday if they do check it.
  21. Well I can pretty well guarantee that we didn't have our upgrade bid accepted. Best of luck to everyone else.
  22. At 2 and a half minutes into the video the pre-covid test is discussed. He said there are rumours of it being under review next month. Hopeful the government will get rid of it then.
  23. To this years WC's have a wonderful journey and may you return having had exciting experiences, hopefully a few news ports for everyone, a couple of trivia wins 😁 and some fantastic tours and on most nights great entertainment however you prefer to spend your nights. We back home in the cold of winter will be thinking of you enjoying warmer climates and trying to follow what's happening on the ship as much as we can. Drop in now and then when you have time and let us know how it is all going. We'll love to hear from you.
  24. I hope it includes airfares and any hotel stays if needed. Way too expensive for me but it does sound great for those who can afford it.
  25. I remember the good old days of two different shows a night and the cross over of the crowds. It did get a bit tight with all the passengers as they passed each other in the bottleneck of the photo gallery but that was part of the fun. Sometimes we would go out on the promenade deck for the express route. I also remember the three theatre shows a night and the first one was still the busiest and you had to get there 40 minutes before for a half hour show. One of the dancers told me they hated the three shows a night as by the last show they were putting on damp costumes.
