  1. Thanks for that. 🙂 It made me look it up and they have a very nice cruise with 5 stops in French Polynesia and 5 stops in Hawaii including Nawiliwili. Being a relocation it is a good price for Oceania. Something to think about.
  2. We were recently on the Royal's repositioning from Alaska and noticed lots of single rooms on deck 8 as we walked along the corridor. We found out from solo travellers on board they too got the cruise at the single rate with no single supplement. I told my husband if I had know that I would have booked us in two separate cabins. 😁
  3. Being unfamiliar with the area it was just as well for the roadside signs saying BICT as I was starting to get worried as to where our taxi driver was taking us.😄
  4. Family members have been given a boarding time of 12-3pm tomorrow and the refund of one days passage plus $US 25. It works out for them as they have free accommodation but I hope those who don't live near Auckland have travel insurance for the extra nights hotel room.
  5. My parents in law were due to board the Majestic today, just as well they are staying with family and don't have to be out of a motel room at 11am. I read in a Princess thread that over 900 passengers were due to get off in Auckland. No doubt some of them had flights booked for today. MIL texted me that the ship will not leave Auckland until 8pm on Tuesday so it is probably Tauranga they will skip.
  6. Have a wonderful holiday and can't wait to read about your adventures and to hear you opinion on Regent. 😊
  7. I feel for all the people there especially the ones who didn't have much to start with and will have trouble replacing what little they did have. Hopefully the Australian Government will step in and provide aid, one would think they would as they want to improve relations to the South Pacific Islands now. I don't know if the French Government still has any ties to Vanuatu. I sure in previous years P&O have helped out by taking donations out to some of the South Pacific Islands after cyclones when cruises called in there.
  8. You're so right about Uncle les, he has always been here to answers our questions and to help us out with our cruise and travel questions. I just now wish we could all visit you in hospital Uncle Les to cheer you on and to help you kick this cancer back to where it belongs. Wishing you all the best with your recovery in getting your breathing back to normal and hope to hear that you are home soon. Karryl
  9. I wonder if they would give it to you per sector 🤔. $200 per couple for those doing the full world cruise, I'd be surprised if they did.
  10. You can certainly swim and sunbake on the white sand. You can also take a walk around the whole Island as it rather small and have a look at the airstrip. On the day I was there the local school children had come from the nearest island and they sang some songs for the passengers. There was a donation bowl in front of them and I'm sure any amount small or large would be welcome so remember to take some cash or coins. Others locals sold lobsters that they cooked for you, other passengers told me they were very good. There will be a continuous shuttle service run from the ship so you can return back anytime.
  11. Thanks for the date, I check my account again after the 7th.
  12. Mine does too. I finished off the identity verification check today after reading your post and hope my account will soon show I own $100 shares of CCL. Fingers crossed.🤞 I believe I am now up to date with all the required forms for the transition.
  13. Certainly is, we got our $50 for a three night cruise last year on the Coral.
  14. If you are willing to go a short train or light rail ride away from Circular Quay up near Central Railway Station, Valentine on George may suit, it is currently listed for $360 Aus for 2 nights ($180 a night for the 10th and 11th of March). Train/light rail/ferry/bus passes are very reasonably priced in Sydney and you can buy a combined ticket for all the public transport. The rooms are good (clean, good size and not too noisy) but there are not really any hotel services such as a restaurant or seating in the lobby but there are plenty of cheap eating places in the area. Another cheap option are the Ibis hotels but the rooms are very small.
  15. I agree with you. We loved stretching out on the promenade deck and watching the waves or reading a good book then closing our eyes and listening to the waves. You can't hear the waves up on the pool deck with all the music and movies. It is just so much better to close the eyes lying down than sitting upright in a chair.
  16. I was given a cabin across the hall and just down a few cabins from my original room so we were very happy with our new room. Same deck and same mid ship location.
  17. Thanks so much for taking the time to write this tour review. I am booked to go to a few of the ports next year and I found your experiences and advice so helpful in planning for the port stops and I enjoyed reading about the other ports especially the places I haven't been to yet. I think I now want to go on a cruise of Spain. 😄
  18. You'll be right. I think you can skip the top couple of decks as there is not really much up there but jogging tracks etc and after climbing all those stairs you won't need to go up there to do extra exercise. 😄
  19. I'm counting 15 decks with either balconies or portholes in the photo and I know there will be a couple of more smaller decks above the pool deck level to house sports and activities but probably not six. I'm scratching my head as well. 🤔 Maybe they are counting a couple of crew decks as well. 😁 Curiosity got to me and I had to go and have a look. On the deck plans on Princess it starts at deck 4 and goes to deck 21, so only 18 decks available to the passengers. The Discovery Princess goes from 4 to deck 19 so an extra 2 decks compared to the last of the Royal Class.
  20. So sad to hear about GUT a long time member here and he always helped out with peoples questions and added to the discussions. You will be missed not only by your family (Max included of course) but by all of us here. RIP
  21. Thanks Aus traveller, I will remember to take off a few packaged snack bars next year in Iceland to tide us over.
  22. Did you buy any food/lunch in Iceland ? I have read it can be expensive.
  23. I googled the two castles as the beautiful gardens did attract my attention and while both are wonderful Dunrobin is just breathtaking. I really think I will have to do a cruise around the UK and Ireland or maybe a driving holiday. I had better stop reading now as this will end up costing me a lot of money! 😄 Only joking I'm enjoying your travels too much to stop.
  24. They are actually working on it now. I noticed work going on in June when we were leaving White Bay. The only finish date I can find so far is unfortunately 2030 in an article published by Cox Architecture on May 25th 2022.
  25. Not exactly right to the site but within easy walking distance. From Sydney Metro information:- "The Bays Station will be located between Glebe Island and White Bay Power Station. It will provide direct access to the future Bays Waterfront Promenade, which would run north to south along White Bay." Maybe there will be places to eat at the Promenade when it is finished. Still it won't be anything like eating at Circular Quay but better than nothing.
