  1. The deck plans are in the Hub app. Down towards the bottom of the menu. I'm always using it for washrooms lol and not the single ones with the red button. Those are the devil.
  2. You got this Sid. Remember, we all cruise solo because we like it. No one will care if you disappear for a bit...you're with the best group of peeps that will get that! 😊
  3. how cool is that!!! @MeganGC1983 and @Jamman54 and Patti?!!! I'm cryin over here. I wanna be there....😭
  4. omgosh yes. Although its 3am, and my senior dog needs to go outside to piddle...which at -8F requires putting on booties and her little coat. And then I bundle up. So after all that I just give up and make coffee...lol But its ok, she's so good at waking me up so she doesn't go in the house.
  5. Holy crap 33 pages to catch up on. Definitely living vicariously thru you guys this week. Ack🤪. Bundled up and there may be day drinking… now back to the beginning to start reading!
  6. omg, you have no idea. I'm gonna miss meeting everyone! This is my weekend.
  7. Too bad I'm not going. I'm always up to share my Cheers lol there's no way I get to 15 a day.
  8. They always say it goes back to the same form of payment, but I've gotten a check when I thought I should be getting a gift card, so who knows?😊 I always go to GS to have the card applied, but I think you can also go swipe it at one of the kiosks.
  9. Raise a few for us sitting at home! 🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🤣
  10. Right? Usually just another day for me, but am excited for the countdown deck party.🥳🛳️ 🎶 🌟 My folks used to live in Land O’Lakes until they sold the house to move back to Chicago. It was the cutest house and we talked for years we should have kept it as a vacay home.
  11. Just booked. Was debating because I'm not a fan of holiday cruises, but Venezia tempted me too much lol and NYE is the only holiday I haven't done yet so figured why not. Had initially looked at cruising out of Miami, but wow, hotels are insane. Was glad to see decent prices in Cocoa Beach so grabbed 2 nights precruise.
  12. pondering....lol and this is a dumb question but you mean Dec 2024 NYE...right?
  13. You always know where you are when you see that shot. Bit of trivia - Parts of Careless Whisper (my all-time favorite song❤️) were shot in Miami. When his girlfriend is sitting on the seaplane taking off to leave George Michael's cheating @ss, she flys past all the ships docked at Port of Miami. (about 3:10)
  14. Anything goes for breakfast on that first day of travel...my go to at the airport is a double Chardonnay and an Egg McMuffin.😜
  15. Any time I've wanted to book an excursion and it required full prepayment and no refund, etc. I moved on. Too many unknowns in cruising and you could totally end up being out a lot of money. But agree, I would push back that the website said cash on arrival, and totally not right they changed the terms after the fact. Maybe also mention that you are on cruise-related social media and people are always interested in great tour operators; you'd love to be able to recommend them but wouldn't feel right if they are going to be changing payment terms. I've done that in the past with issues with a service vendor. Goes over better than if you just go straight to ranting and saying you are going to leave them a bad review.
  16. Great review, always wondered how it worked cruising with a service dog. Love that they gave Max a life jacket. With regard to the potty issue - does Max know how to use a puppy pad? Maybe get him used to that; they would be easy to pack and if there is ever another situation where he doesn't like the provided material, you could just lay a pad over the top? Just a thought.
  17. The transpacific cruises are the worst. Literally changing your clock every night, and then when crossing the international date line and losing a day, that confuses things even more. Even the Hub app is usually wrong until they get it caught up lol.
  18. Travel Pass is only while in port; you would turn off airplane mode and you get 24 hours based on your cell plan. Just don't forget to go back to airplane mode when leaving port. If you buy the wifi, make sure its before Dec. 8 when the prices go up.
  19. I was on the Luminosa 30 day in September, Seattle to Brisbane. I didn't use it, but people were posting Fly2Fun didn't work then either...after booking their airfare they discovered Carnival had booked them flying home out of Australia on Oct. 14, when in reality we didn't dock in Brisbane until Oct. 15. I never did hear if it actually got fixed, although a lot of people had to go back and fix their flights. So I personally would look for backup flights if Carnival never gets their act together. Its mind-blowing to me they STILL can't get this right after how many TP cruises have they done?? smh When I flew home, I booked air from Brisbane to Sydney to LAX to Chicago. Just a tip, there were many more flights out of Sydney with better times and connections than flying out of Brisbane. So I would assume the same would hold true for flying into Brisbane, so you might want to check flights into Sydney too; then its only a 90 min flight to Brisbane. Qantas flies almost every hour.
  20. I’m also on board, the zig zag was due to having the USCG perform a medical evacuation early this morning.
  21. This only applies to cruises leaving from Australia. As of right now, we still need to be vaxxed and provide a negative Covid test for this cruise.
  22. yay, another Megan review! I see Jason ❤️. He's usually over at Golden Jubilee. I don't like sweet drinks, but if you like the Girl Scout's Thin Mints, you gotta try a Grasshopper. yummy 😊
  23. Was thinking I might try a trip report, although considering the internet situation on these transpacific voyages, not sure how 'live' it will be lol. Because it is starting to be interesting and we haven't even boarded yet. 😝 First problem arose when people were booking their flights back to the US after the cruise. We cross the Int'l Dateline so that threw a wrench into things, because Carnival didn't indicate actually skipping a day on the itinerary like they did when I took the Splendor to Singapore in 2019. The itinerary then clearly skipped a date and so it was easy to figure out when to fly home. This itinerary shows the cruise ending on Oct. 15. However, when people went to use Fly2Fun for their flights home, Carnival's database was set so that they had people flying home Oct. 14. So that created lots of back and forth you know, over there at that other place, of when are we actually flying home. It was starting to get testy, because you would get new people joining and they would ask and start the discussion all over again. I'm staying a few days in Brisbane anyway, so my flight is later. But B2B peeps next cruise starts Oct 15, so that's pretty clear to me. Carnival sent out their first letter of criteria to sail. 1) We need to show proof of a negative covid test...basically taking a picture of your test, along with the current date on something, is accepted. No proctoring needed. 2) Then the letter said 4 days before embarkation, we would need to register to visit the Philippines and show when boarding a QR code we received from their website. 3) We also needed an eVoa (electronic Visa on arrival) to visit Indonesia which Carnival would handle and charge the $35 to our S&S account. Fabulous, all sounds simple. But wait, come on, its Carnival...did you expect this to go smoothly? 💣☠️ Then Carnival sends out a second letter of criteria changing what they told us. Now we need to each get the Indonesia eVoa ourselves and show that at embarkation. Holy He!! what a cluster that turned into. So the Indonesian website pretty much crashed with all of us trying to use it. You were required to upload a photo of your passport and a selfie. The website was super glitchy and SUPER picky on the photos you submitted; everyone's kept getting declined but it wouldn't tell you why. So everyone was helping everyone out with tips. Try re-cropping it, try not to have a glare, scan and then crop, make sure selfie and passport pic match. That's how bad it was. Then it asked for the address where we are staying in the Philippines, uh what? So we all just started putting in the address for the Indonesian port which luckily got accepted. The icing on the cake was that almost all credit cards were being declined due to it being a possible fraudulent foreign website. Seriously, some folks were stuck trying for hours and literally multiple days to get all the required information entered. Luckily I got mine no problem, except my cc did get declined, but I just used another one. Turns out we still need to register for the Philippines, but we cannot show it at embarkation because contrary to what Carnival initially told us, we can only do it 4 days prior to our actual arrival in the Philippines (which is Oct 6.), not 4 days before boarding. So Carnival is telling us we will have use of free internet on board to complete the registration. Yeah, right, like that will go smoothly lol. A whole shipful of people overloading the ship's wifi, in the middle of the Pacific Ocean where its doubtful we could even have wifi. And if its glitchy and chaotic like Indonesia was...omg I feel sorry for Guest Services. So I'm thinking embarkation is going to be a nightmare. A common misconception was, well I just won't get off the ship in Indonesia so I won't even try for the Indonesian visa...NO you need it to board. And a lot of us feel like some people still don't even know they need the Visa. So many said they aren't receiving the communications from Carnival and it was because of that other place that they found out. So embark is going to be absolutely mad. I can't imagine trying to get that Indonesian visa standing in line at the Seattle port.😵 Check in is tonight for me. So do I go for late boarding or early? Highly doubtful we will push off at 6 like we're scheduled. At least the next day is a sea day; guessing we could haul @ss if needed to make our 7am docking at Ketchikan on the 16th. Honestly it blows my mind we're even having these problems. Carnival's research team must be the worst if they didn't find out all these things before sending out that first letter, to then have to contradict pretty much everything they told us. Its no excuse they've never been there. We all travel places and do our research these days as to what is needed to fly or enter different countries. Not to mention adding in a Brand Ambassador that muddies the water further with some of his postings.... so let's see where this goes lol, yippee ki yay.....
  24. I have seen it on Celebration; check all the stores, they have one that is mostly logo stuff, I think it was there. I almost want to say I remember seeing one on a ship once in Cherry on Top too?
