    Port change?

Ocho Rios will be closed until May 18th at the earliest. I received the following notification for my 3/23 Seascape sailing. March 8, 2024 Dear Valued Guest, Thank you for choosing MSC Cruises for your upcoming cruise vacation. We look forward to welcoming you aboard beautiful MSC Seascape for what will undoubtedly be a memorable cruise in the Caribbean Sea. We're contacting you with an update concerning your cruise which is scheduled to sail from Miami, Florida on 3/23/2024. Due to extensive pier damage caused by a recent incident involving another cruise ship at the port in Ocho Rios, Jamaica’s Port Authority has advised us that Berth 2 will remain closed for repairs until at least May. As a result, we are unable to call Ocho Rios, Jamaica as previously planned. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We're pleased to inform you that we have made alternative arrangements to visit the charming town of Falmouth, Jamaica on the same day we planned to call in Ocho Rios. Located on Jamaica’s northern coast, Falmouth is a colorful and historical town that is best known for its Georgian architecture. As one of the country’s most popular cruise ship ports, it offers visitors a range of activities including horseback riding on the beach, snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters, and exploring the nearby Martha Brae River on a bamboo raft. Your booking will be updated in our reservation system on 3/12/2024, and can be viewed by visiting MSC Cruises - Manage Your Booking . To view, enter your booking number and name. For your convenience, please find your amended cruise itinerary below. MSC Seascape - Revised Itinerary - Weeks: 3/23/2024 and 5/18/2024. If you are on 14-night cruise, this change only affects the week we visit the Western Caribbean. 2. One of the many reasons why I love living in Florida. Can be out the door and on vacation inside of an hour. Nothing better.
  3. Thanks for doing this, Bird. Will enjoy following along this week as we board on Saturday when you get back. Did you happen to notice if they had the MSC Cruise Ship Lego set in the gift shop? My Son is very excited for this.

    Bummer

Wow. This is awful. So sorry.
  5. Thanks for the live report, I really enjoyed reading it. Every time I see the Virgin ships I can't understand why they didn't put more pools/hot tubs, water features, etc. That top deck area seems like it would be perfect for a pool and some hot tubs. There seems to be an overwhelming number of seating areas on the ship, and not enough areas for lounging in a pool/spa.
  6. Nice beer selection! Very excited to watch the NCAA Tournament in the sports bar on board Seascape next weekend.
  7. "receiving the test result and no later than noon on the date of embarkation and provide verification satisfactory to the Company of test results administered by providers other than those retained by the Carrier. Under no circumstances shall the Carrier be liable to any such Passenger for any costs, damages or expenses whatsoever incurred by any Passenger." "Provide verification satisfactory to the Company of test results administered by providers other than those retained by the Carrier." This statement basically gives MSC a blanket reason to deny any requests for refunds. All they have to say is that who did your test and the provided results are not satisfactory to the Company. By this statement in their T&C's they are completely within their right to deny your claim.
  8. Thinking about doing this itinerary this summer. Looking forward to your live report. Thanks for doing this.
  9. Seems to me that filing a claim with the insurance company is the easiest path. Provided of course that COVID is covered under the policy you bought. If you go the legal route it will take years and there's no guarantee you'll get your money back.
  10. Thank You, Deb!
  11. Did she test positive on the morning of the cruise? Or at least 5 days in advance as noted in the T&C's?
  12. Hi Everyone, Newbie to MSC and will be sailing on Seascape in a YC Owner's Suite in a few weeks. I was wondering if anyone has a list of all the amenities/perks that come with the suite? My booking only lists the standard YC amenities, nothing specific to OS such as reserved cabana, bottles of liquor, etc. Anyone know where I can find this?
  13. Does anyone know if Seascape casino is non-smoking?
  14. Thank You for your review. How was Butcher's Cut? We will be on Seascape in a few weeks and wondering if it's worth trying the specialty restaurants or just eating in YC Restaurant.
  15. This is incorrect. JW Blue has been available on every NCL Haven cruise I've been on. Not sure about MSC or Celebrity, but it is 100% available on NCL as part of the premium drink package.
  16. I was finally able to get myself checked in. Tried my wife and Son on 2 different phones, a laptop, and a Microsoft Surface with no luck. Incredibly frustrating.
  17. I'm having an issue with the passport scanning on the app. First time cruising MSC and unbelievably frustrated with this web check in process thus far.
  18. Looking at doing the Joy next year for Spring Break out of Miami. Wondering what your thoughts are since the drydock?
  19. This was my experience as well when I went on Prima. My wife and I have been on over 20 NCL cruises on almost all the ships in the fleet and will not go on a Prima Class ship again.
  20. Lots of jellyfish in the lagoon. My son got stung. Just be aware if you have children below the age of 10.
  21. I spent the port days on board Prima and the pool was still entirely too small. It's literally the size of the Haven Pool on the Breakaway Plus ships.
