  1. Taxis are very scarce in Ravenna, so don't count on it. I responded to your inquiry on another thread.
  2. We sailed out of Ravenna and had our hotel book a van for 6 of us. We had it set up a week in advance. Taxis are very scarce in Ravenna. I understand the ship provides bus service from the train station. The bus meets the train at the time of arrival from Venice. I think the transfer town was Ferrara, so the Venice train arriving from Ferrara. Royal should have info on this.
  3. The app for the Cinque Terre pass is MyPass. Purchased on line and get a QR code on your phone. Skip all the long lines at the train station. Just head to the track and board the train.
  4. Skip the long line and get your Cinque Terre passes on line. We did it last May.
  5. Yes. This is on the S-Class (Solstice) that the OP is sailing.
  6. What ship? It may be easier to get a table for 8 and 6 next to each other.
  7. If the stateroom is on Deck 6, lifeboats will be visible as you look out on your veranda. You won't have a clear view of the sea. If you are on Deck 7 and above, you can look directly out at the sea, but if you look down from the rail of your balcony, you will see lifeboats and not see directly down at the sea. This case it is not considered an partial or obstructed view balcony. On the S-Class (with the exception of Reflection), there is a window washing contraption obstructing your view out. This is on the Deck 11, staterooms 1547/1549 on the port side, and 1552/1554 on the starboard side. What stateroom are you looking at?
  8. I loved Michael's Club, then they turned it into a Suites lounge. I would walk by and it was a ghost town with only 1-2 people frequenting the place. What a shame.
  9. Somewhat, probably around 75 degrees. Not heated anywhere near what the T-pools are heated. There are two hot tubs in the solarium.
  10. Many years ago they used to allow smoking on the M-Class on the port side of the Sunset Bar, but no longer. They stopped smoking back aft several years ago, so you are good to go on Deck 11 AQ.
  11. I don't believe you can walk out of this port. The shuttles should start within 1/2 hour after you dock.
  12. Eclipse doesn't have the T-Pool in the solarium. I'm guessing you are Elite, so the Tuscan Grill is great for morning breakfast.
  13. To each his own. You may be the exception rather than the rule, I suppose? Good for you, but I hope the cruise line doesn't push your personal preferences on others.
  14. Our next 4 Royal cruises are booked in JS, so we will get twice-a-day service. Good for you if you like once a day. For those of you who use the "hotel" as an analogy, cruising is not the same as a hotel. Last time we stayed in a hotel, we checked in at 4pm and departed at 8am the next morning. I'm guess the "Tip Tip Hoooray" envelopes will remain empty?
  15. I know Royal upped their gratuities then cut the stateroom service to once a day right after that, except for Suites. We have AI on our next three Celebrity cruises, so gratuities aren't an issue, but did Celebrity cut back on stateroom service also, to once a day for all non-suites?
  16. I thought there was a form you could fill out at GS to pay extra tips out of your account to designated personnel, i.e. waiter/asst waiter, in addition to the normal gratuities automatically deducted from your account. Is this no longer the case?
  17. No, all V2 cabins alternate bed by bath (sofa bed/upper berth) or bed by balcony. If you look at the deck plans and see a stateroom with a black square and/or triangle, it has bed by the bath. The staterooms on either side of it has bed by the balcony. If you find a section with no squares/triangles, find one, then count from there, balcony/bath/balcony/bath, etc. Easy Peasy.
  18. Stateroom 8279 has the largest of all the three. The others are larger than the normal balconies. I would choose 8279. I don't think the smoke will reach up to deck 8, especially while underway. If you are concerned about the smoke, I would choose 8254/58. Unless you are having 4-6 people out on the balcony, I wouldn't worry about it and go for 8254 or 8258. All staterooms except 8281 have bed by the bath.
  19. I was once upgraded to Concierge from an OV stateroom when I arrived at the pier because they wanted my OV in the area for covid quarantine.
  20. As in one bag each for you and your wife. That's a total of two bags.
  21. Not at all. I prefer aft elevators when heading up to the Ocean View Cafe/Sunset Bar.
  22. For the price difference, I would choose deluxe veranda. I would choose location around the midship or aft elevator bank.
  23. The Sweet Sixteen balconies are 6021-6035 on the port side, and 6016-6030 on the starboard size. They have double the normal balcony size. Stateroom size is around 170sqft, same size as all the other veranda staterooms, except Concierge and AQ have larger rooms (around 200sqft).
  24. I keep clicking on this thread hoping someone will post a picture of the dinner burger.
