Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. There aren't many random number generators that I'm tempted to play, but anything press your luck related temps me. Congrats on the win tonight.
  2. I just got home a few hours ago after spending the last 8 nights on the Magic. I completely agree with your assessment on the internet. My room was a virtual dead zone, but if I walked out the door and onto Lido proper it worked. As for the non-smoking casino, Karol was a god send. So much so I did something I rarely do, break out the pen and paper to write a proper thank you note. Karen would just walk by and ignore. It seemed unless you were one of her regulars you were ignored. One thing I noticed was from about 9-10 was when the servers went on break. Made no sense to me. Also wasn't fond of them closing the bar at 1. At least should have stayed open until the tables were closed.
  3. Don't forget to see if you can't find a cheap corkscrew today on land for those bottles of wine.
  4. @Jamman54 You said something in your post cruise summary that really resonated with me. My last cruise was the first cruise I did not eat the majority of my dinner time meals in the main dining room. Most of that reason was the speed of the service and as a solo I just don't like sitting looking like I'm thumbing through my phone between courses. The thing I appreciated about lido for dinner was being able to mix and match mains with sides and on the night I wasn't exactly hungry I could make a salad and grab a deli sandwich. Moving forward lido for dinner is what I'll be doing on most nights unless I'm cruising with friends and the group wants to do specialty dining. Thanks again for sharing in your adventures.
  5. Solo cove balcony for the Horizon in December 2024, 1900.
  6. On my Elation cruise end of September the temperature never left 32 in the app. Just started treating it as 32C (89F...at least it felt like it was near 90).
  7. The shipwreck museum was a blast (the guy who was doing the tour made it from good to almost great) and I believe they have an outside staircase that at the top is very picturesque.
  8. If I'm remembering correctly when I sailed in July it was about 2 hours 15 minutes after we sailed from Jacksonville.
  9. With a fare that was tempting enough for me I went ahead and put a deposit down on a 40th birthday cruise in 19 months. When I went to try and do the status match on a PC with a web browser I had absolutely no luck regardless of the browser I tried (error received on the zip code to auto fill city/state). On a whim I went ahead and downloaded the MSC app. Used my booking number and ID to get logged in. From there here's how I finally got mine submitted. This was all within the app and apologies for the steps...may have been a little too determined. Go to the Profile tab and click on MSC Voyagers Club FAQ and T&C MSC Voyagers Club FAQ Click on the MSC Cruises at the top (takes to home page) Scroll down to Change County to USA/English Scroll down to News and Info, click the + sign and select sitemap Scroll down and select Status Match Program Fill out the information and submit (Zip Code field worked...had proof of status where I was able to get it on my phone) Hope this information is helpful for those who are having issues with the PC browser not completing the auto fill.
  10. I think the thing that bugged me the most about today's announcement wasn't that Dr. Suess was coming back (we knew it was coming back at some point) or the wi-fi increase they slide into the end of the email, but advising of the room service changes without giving us a menu but a 'you'll see it when you see it'. I'll admit I'm very likely to be expecting too much but if a change like this is going to be made let us see the menu with the anticipated prices. Even just seeing the new menu (sans prices) would have been a heads up so we could attempt to anticipate what the prices would be. Based on the received email I think the only menu items are going to be the current paid option, nothing more, nothing less.
