The problem with cancelling the card is if you have future trips , accommodation or such booked on it. If you have to cancel them, it is harder to get your refunds as they have to go back to the card used for purchase. -

Time will tell, we didn't have delays last time we cruised Princess, but it didn't have the separate medallion pick up

I think we will just get them when checking in, there is no real advantage getting them earlier.

Best Hotel post cruise Sydney

If you want to look around Sydney a bit then a hotel near the Cruise Terminal may be best, or at least in the CBD. The Rendezvous is close and normally moderately priced. If you wantva airport hotel, then the Rydges at International airport is best located although anything near Mascot will have both public transport and a airport shuttle. -

I would appeal with the complaints department via email, you may get a better result as it becomes a personal case refund rather than a mass refund for everyone.
