  1. Can anyone confirm that the casino on the Eurodam does not allow smoking? Besides what it says in the policy, that is.
  2. I've got a cruise on the Eurodam in a few months. I'm thinking of playing some table games in the casino. Any suggestions on what to play that will allow me to stretch out my time best? It's too easy to kiss away $50 (example) in a slot machine in a matter of seconds. I've heard that craps may be a good option. I've never played it before. Do the HAL ships have a particular type of table (i.e., different bets available than usual)? I'm interested in something that I can play for an hour and not worry too much about breaking my bank. I'd rather play low risk/low reward for a long period of time. Any suggestions on learning how to play and the best bets to make? Any other games that are low risk / long playing time?
  3. @ottahand7 Thanks for taking the time to post your pics and share your experiences!
  4. Thanks for all of the responses. However, no one answered my initial question.
  5. @ottahand7 Thanks for keeping us updated. Is it possible for you to post the part of The Daily that has what times things are open (the back page). TIA
  6. The brand I bought was Oasispace. I got it from Amazon, but they do have their own website. The one I have is for larger people but they have several types. https://a.co/d/inKcYHV https://www.oasisspace.com/ I have never had issues with my knees hitting the seat and I have a decent stride. Mine is the upright version so I never feel hunched over. I found it to be very stable even in rougher seas. I would be concerned about using the Able due to the wheels being so small. If you plan on getting off the ship and exploring (even if it is a port market), the cobblestones or uneven surfaces would wreak havoc. You can always visit a local Durable Medical Equipment store near you and see what they offer. Even if it isn’t the same brands mentioned above, you can get a good idea of what style may be best suited to you.
  7. @shadow 123 I'm also a solo traveler and have learned a few things. Initially, I rented a rollator to use on a cruise. It did not go well for me. In order to get it into the cabin, I had to fold it up and manhandle it into the room. This was due to how it was designed. The hinge made it fold like a sandwich board. Once folded, there was no way for it to roll. Also, by the end of the day, my shoulders were killing me. I have since purchased my own rollator for use on cruises. It is an upright one. The design allows me to fold it and still be able to roll it. Comes in handy when maneuvering in some port shops that have small aisles. I have used the seat to carry various things on the cruise and in the airport. I also travel with my own doorstop that goes over the hinges of the door. This is much easier that using the usual one that you have to put on the floor. I don't bend well. In regards to shore excursions, I suggest contacting the Excursions office of the cruise line that you will be using. I did this on a previous cruise, and they were very helpful in letting me know which excursions could accommodate the rollator.
  8. I'm trying to do some comparisons to see what my options may be for a pre-cruise hotel in FLL in early November. I know that I can get my own hotel in Fort Lauderdale and take an Uber/Lyft. However, traveling solo with a mobility device made that experience more stressful than I want. Been there, done that, would like to avoid it in the future. So I went to 'Manage My Booking' page to see what HAL had to offer. There was nothing listed on the 'Hotel & Travel Packages' page. NO HOTEL & TRAVEL PACKAGES AVAILABLE YET We're as excited as you to book hotel and travel packages. Unfortunately, it's still a bit early. Please check back closer to your cruise departure Does anyone have any guesses when they may have something available show up?
  9. I'd suggest going to the Excursions desk while you are still onboard. Sometimes hearing from a person face to face can give them a chance to get more detailed information. Plus it will still be fresh in your mind.
  10. I'm trying to apply a couple of gift cards towards my remaining balance. I'm able to add them all 3 of them, but the site still wants me to enter a credit card (which I don't want to do). Has anyone else run into this problem? My PCC works 9a-5p PT Monday-Friday. I work 11p-8am CT Monday night to Saturday morning. So it's tricky trying to connect on the phone. I'd rather not send the gift card details via email. I was really hoping that I could just do it all online.
  11. @ottahand7 Thanks for posting all of this! I have a question. How does HAL handle things when you are staying on the ship from one cruise to the next? I'm going on a 15-Day cruise on the Eurodam in November. I just noticed that it is actually a 4-day + 11-day cruise. Do passengers that are continuing on the ship for the next 11 days need to disembark when it returns to Ft Lauderdale on day 5? Or can we just stay on the ship as if it were another port of call? TIA
  12. I tried pulling up this link, but it didn't work. Is there another place to look?
  13. I hope someone can explain this to me. I'm pricing out a few cruises to possibly take later this year (as a solo). I can't seem to get the numbers to add up. For example, a 14-day cruise is $1280 per person (single rate-Inside Cabin) and the "Cruise + Have It All" is $2622 per person. That is a difference of $1342. The Have It All package is advertised as $55/person/day which would be $770 (14x $55). It offers the exact same items (ShoreEx, Drinks, Dining, Wi-Fi) as the Cruise + HIA. So what is the additional $572 ($1342-$770) coming from? This is just one example. I've priced other HAL cruises and it is the same scenario; where the Cruise + Have It All at booking costs much more than if I were to book just the Cruise and Add the HIA package. Am I missing something?
  14. Also, if you are a person of larger size, you can request from your room steward a larger robe.
  15. I would like to add that I've had my boarding time be changed by HAL a few times within that 2 weeks prior to the cruise embarking. i don't usually print it out until the day before I leave (to save some paper from re-printing after each change).
  16. I double checked the sticker on the bottom of my CPAP and it shows AC 100-240V, so that should be ok, right?
  17. I have found the following things to help when I have issues with some websites. Try a different web browser Turning off VPN Clearing browser cache
  18. I'm planning on using this charging station in the US socket for charging my electronics... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B093LDTHZY/ref=ox_sc_act_title_5?smid=A2FT4K2WVUA3QY&th=1 I'm going to use this in the European socket along with an extension cord for my CPAP. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EOI2N2M/ref=ox_sc_act_title_4?smid=ALEWIQ2F9CQDR&psc=1
  19. I've traveled with the ThermaCare heat wraps. I like that they come in so many varieties for various areas of the body. Plus if you use them during the trip, then you have more room for souvenirs in the suitcase.
  20. I ended up staying on the ship. The tour operators could not accommodate my mobility device.
  21. Thanks for the info about the straps. I may have to add those to my packing list. After posting here, I did hear back from the shore excursion team and accessibility departments. They were very helpful about detailing the options.
  22. Does anyone know of any tour operators that can accommodate people with mobility issues that may operate in Mexico? I'm doing a Mexican Riviera cruise in March and the cruise line does not seem to have any available (it's possible they have already sold-out the accessible excursions). I've contacted their shore excursion department and disability services team, but haven't heard back after giving them my details. I'll be using a rollator and am a plus-sized person. I had to cancel excursions on a previous cruise because (once I was on-board) found out the tour operators could not accommodate my rollator (even though it folds up). These are the ports we are schedule to stop in... Cabo San Lucas - Tender required, wheelchair access limited Loreto - Tender required, wheel chair access limited Pichilingue (La Paz) Mazatlan Puerto Vallarta - overnight Any insights would be helpful. Thanks!
