  1. thanks. yes, 6 sea days. We are getting shareholder and credit card OBC, so looking to burn that with the 2 person glass. we have all inclusive, so don't need the OBC for gratuities and drinks.
  2. There are many headwinds the cruiselines are facing. First, they all are very close to bankruptcy. Varying degress, but the debt load and recent past losses are tremendous. They need to increase revenue and/or cut expenses. Second is the world-wide inflation that is affecting us all. Nearly everything is more expensive. And just like in your personal life, if things you use get more expensive, you stop using them or need more income to have them. Fuel, food, drinks, labor, all of this. Third is the wordwide labor issues. Makes it harder to get workers, harder to keep workers. I don't defend them, because I haven't cruised and have no point of comparison. But am confident I can say pre-covid, it wasn't like the Love Boat days and it isn't like it now. Things have to change. Will always be the case. And as more seasoned Celebrity cruisers move on for whatever reason, noobs like me come along and aren't upset there isn't a chocolate on the pillow.... cuz I've never had the chocolate on the pillow........ (a generalization for generalization purposes).
  3. Oh that is awesome news. We bought the all inclusive, so have basic wifi. Then bought the upgrade for $9.99. Doesn't say per day, just $9.99. I know, I know. Looking forward to it working in a few months. Frankly, if not, won't even rise to the level of going to guest services, unless there is another reason.
  4. Contact your local volunteer fire department or water department and ask them to let you go out with them when they flush fire hydrants........ Hydrants are the very same water system as the water in your home. Yum.
  5. Bing bing bing! We have a winner. Shut down the internet for the day! Very specific clear rules and following said rules is critical in my book. No changing things around mid stream.
  6. Please take this as a serious reply.... Do you really need 24x7 internet for monitoring? Or is it just every so often? Do you need a wifi password, or does it just "do its thing"? Might be some further questions for the doctor. I'm basing this (and in no way intend to equate them) to my CPAP that transmits info to the doctor by wifi, but isn't an issue when sailing, or it picks up wifi and does it without logging in, as I've never set up my home wifi in my machine. Probably others will have some better, more experience based information. In any case, OP, best of luck with your procedure (if needed). I hope you enjoy your upcoming cruises!
  7. Yep, close is squishy in this case. Easy access without easy listening.... 🤔😎🍹
  8. If you need to book specialty dining, that is first priority. Get it done. Sometimes we split up and I hit duty free to check selection of whiskies available. Only one has this worked, but its worth a try. If MDR seating is important, hit MDR to find out your table. For us, next priority is pool deck. We get our spot scoped out and set up our "nest" for the day and get drinks ordered. Some food, WJ, Park Cafe or dogs.... AAAAHHHHHHH.......
  9. Thanks for the info. We are planning to do this, but worry about it selling out if we wait to book on board. We are on the Equinox in June for ABC islands. Is selling out an issue?
  10. At this moment, it's 38 degrees in FL. I'm wearing shorts.
  11. I really don't think your issue had anything to do with Princess specifically.
  12. Pre-covid, we sailed over Christmas and New Years. We bought our Chops meal before the increased price came out. They honored it, but we didn't get the enhanced menu and split of Champagne. We got normal menu, others got special menu.
  13. Three hour tour... a three hour tour.... Not a good idea on a ship. Did the weather start getting rough? 😎
  14. See, this is the answer. Not all this "don't embarrass yourself" stuff. Just a straight forward answer without looking down your nose at anyone. On RCL, I wear nice shorts and a polo or button up shirt. Why? Because I'm permitted to do so. If Celebrity requires slacks, I shall wear slacks on my upcoming cruise. I live in FL. When I go out to dinner, I wear shorts and a nice shirt to nice restaurants. Heck, when I was a kid visiting grandparents in FL in the 70s, we wore shorts to Catholic church on Sundays. Nice clothes. No one gets hurt, lightning doesn't strike.
  15. BING BING BING! We have a winner. It only took 6 additional posts to blame the OP for booking a guaranty.
  16. Yes, vouchers work there. You mentioned "without any upcharges", so was making sure you knew. Hope you have a great time.
  17. Drinks aren't included unless you have a package. Just nice lunch.
  18. I just wanna wear one of them thar provided bathrobes in the MDR. Cause some real heartache.
  19. Sorry for your loss. I'm sure you posts have helped others share your love of cruising and have improved others experiences. Part of him lives on in all who benefitted from his information and advice. I hope that realization helps you during this difficult time.
  20. If the staff says it's OK, well I'm OK. Had a new shirt shrink on me before I took it on a cruise. Unfortunately it was the only clean nice shirt I had. Couldn't even get my shoulders into it. Wore my nicest t-shirt to Chops. Explained my situation, offered to cancel. They had no problem seating me. No one died. No one lost their dinner. Women and children didn't run screaming from Chops. And my waiter got a big fat tip.
  21. Been there once. Meal was good, great service. But past that, its just really the same old beach day. And the day we were there, it was very windy, blowing everything around. No one was on mats in the water and very few if any were in the ocean. I'm not knocking them for the weather. But, at the end of the day, its just a beach place with a pool and bar. The meal is the only thing that makes it stand out. Definitely not a $200 pp day.
  22. It is someone's section at a sports bar that is on a cruise ship. Everyone knows servers make a portion of their money from tips. OP is being fair to he concerned and wanting to do right. As it turned out, sounds like it was a non issue.
  23. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Its not a lack of respect. I follow the rules as set by the people operating the venue. Once had a sleeveless shirt on and went to MDR for breakfast. Staff reminded me I needed sleeves, so I apologized for forgetting and went and changed shirts. Truly an error. When I sail on the Equinox this summer, I'll wear slacks. And a jacket if needed. But when the staff says shorts are ok, well that's what I'm wearing. Climb down off your high horse. Why do you care what I'm wearing? How does that impact your vacation? I'm courteous, hold elevators, tip staff well, and try to follow the rules. It really doesn't matter.
  24. I'm with the Chief on this. Big fan of his from back in the Clarea days....pre-covid.
