How do we go about collecting our PERKS for being platinum
n6uqqq replied to Gma&Gpa's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
On the Spirit I asked for slots because that is what you have to ask for to get the 25 in cash but they credited the gambling money to the slots account so I asked if I could change to table games and they let me. So it is hit or miss which ships will dole out cash now. It worked out good though, I won ten dollars on craps on first bet, then lost the ten free dollars on next throw. Then had to bet the remaining 15 on the pass line because the table minimum is now ten. A guy got hot and passed four times in a row yielding me another 60. I ended up with 70 "real" dollars from the 25 in casino action. Another time I only got 5 dollars back on my 25 in play money. -
You can buy alcohol and tobacco.

I took the Panorama down and at Mazatlan I also walked to the lighthouse in Nov. Wonderful views and a free excursion!

Money well spent. It seems Allstate has lost their way. Egift cards gone the majority of the time now, shipping for physical cards has gotten expensive. The current physical cards are not even listed in the travel tab, you have to search for Carnival just to find them now. I like to buy the ecards through Allstate but they have made it next to impossible lately. AARP was worth every cent and I got a deal for 5 years.

Since I started cruising in 2007 the vast majority of Mexican Riviera cruises by Carnival did Cabo first. It is only recently that it got changed around. I am guessing there is a financial reason for this, but don't what it is. I have done this route literally 10 times always Cabo first. Maybe if they are late returning to Long Beach enough they will change back.

Yeah I was concerned it was gone, as I haven't tried it out yet. Looks pretty fast. -
I am going on the Panorama in Sept. It is a nice ship, more crowded than the Spirit class but decent. Found it to be much better than the Radiance, where I was bouncing off people everywhere!

Mucho better schedule. I thought maybe the Cabo wasn't available but I checked what is in port when and there was room. Puerto Vallarta last is best!

Leaving Cabo at 2:30 pm is too short. Arriving at 6 am gee that is great 🤮. Unfortunately my cruise in sept has these hours!

What I often do is book with Carnival and then my big box store travel agent takes over the booking so I get the Carnival rate and then a nice addition from the agent in the form of a shop card. On a 14 day cruise the value of the shop card on one cruise was 330 dollars, which is as good as cash for me. Occasionally the big box agency has rate codes I cannot find on Carnival, so the savings go up even more.

That is because no real music has been made in the last 15-20 years 🤣 -

Judging from these two pics you answered my earlier question. The gym hot tub is no more! Bummer! -

Do you know if the hot tub in the gym/spa is still there? On the Miracle it was quietly removed a while back and I am wondering if it survived the dry dock. -

So much better than what they call a lounge on the big ships! -

I thought for sure they would do something in dry dock for that under utilized room. The Soul Play is a nice looking open room with windows. -

This is the way it should be instead of waiting to seaday brunch/ last night after 5 pm for golds. -

Did they put anything where the art conference room is? On Spirit they made it into Soul Play painting room where you can paint. -

Looks like you went back to the future and got your Diamond sea day brunch benefit early 😉 -

I got off the Spirit last week and said my goodbyes to the Casino bar and probably the tableclothed dining room tables that are still on the Spirit every day. -

Actually the Spirit and Legend still have theirs.................for now. But they are doomed at next dry dock. -
I am not being critical, they are two entirely different words. And the thinks part was intentional but grammatically incorrect for effect. Subsidence is the gradual caving in or sinking of a land.

I thinks you mean subsistence?

I always prepay my gratuities and have no issue with it. I, however, do not care for how the drink receipts are printed out. The receipts on the Spirit for drinks call the built in tip of 18 percent a "service charge" and then list at the bottom "gratuity" (optional). I find this to be rather misleading and giving the appearance that you have not provided a tip. Most everyone out here knows this, but there are lots of blue cards that may not have a clue and then feel like they need to add a tip. On some ships I have seen it properly listed as "additional gratuity" which is a much fairer representation of what is actually going on.
