  1. It does have the livery, I noticed it in May of 2022 to Alaska. You are correct, a dry dock wouldn't be necessary to change tabletops, but as of yet it has not been done. I haven't seen a new dry dock date set for the Spirit.
  2. They are a plastic or vinyl tabletop and they surely will be gone at next dry dock. Enjoy the tablecloth while you can 😉 .
  3. It doesn't detract for me either, it is just a nice touch.
  4. I think that's it, the Spirit came back from Australia and hadn't been Americanized 🤣yet! When the Spirit class is retired, I will be heartbroken 😉
  5. Well. there is one exception for now. The Spirit still has them every single night as of Feb. They haven't replaced the white plastic tabletops yet. Love the look of tablecloth allthough I understand their reasoning for getting rid of it. Oh, and I really love the booths that the Panorama had none of!
  6. I've seen some people out here stating they are getting some refunds via email and ecards, so check your email and spam carefully. Last year I cancelled an excursion and they sent gift cards unannounced via Fedex 2nd day air. I much prefer the email route and wish that was the norm, it is easier for me and saves Carnival money for delivery. I have literally had 4 separate Fedex 2nd days together on my porch for cancelled cruise. Not very cost efficient for a company struggling for survival!
  7. If Carnival just refunded the port fees at the end of March they really dropped the ball on that one. Usually port fees and any prepaid gratuities are refunded much much faster than that, like a couple weeks later.
  8. Okay I wasn't trying to be sarcastic, I didn't know if there was a mitigating factor I was missing. Looks like I will be holding my 1000 shares for quite some time. The next class of ships can wait a while!
  9. Internet searches show a long term debt of 32-35 billion currently. Maybe I am missing something here?
  10. I think the ripe areas for change on this dry dock are the Raphael lounge and conference room on deck 3 as well as the the restaurant annex on deck 2 near the Alchemy bar. These areas could potentially have the room for some specialized dining. I will bet a dime to a bag of donuts the casino bar is trashed in favor of more gambling also. The Miracle lost her casino bar in Nov 22.
  11. The bar area being referred to is on deck 2 port side closer to the front of ship. The Heros tribute bar is a theme to honor our vets. The sky box is the current name. It is located next to the Red Frog pub.
  12. Did you get any of the large bottles prior to this, perhaps in the MDR where they seem to bring them to cheers people without even asking when they order a drink? If so that may have been your free water in Carnival's eyes.
  13. I actually enjoy this game the best, but not too worried about points any more!
  14. I finally took the chance on a stateroom water on the Radiance three weeks ago and it worked out fine. They applied the credit and it was free.
  15. Carnival just cannot stop tinkering with things on their website. I like that it showed the total amount of OBC for the cruise. You can go to booking & order details but that only shows what you currently have left after any pre purchases and not your total amount for the cruise. And is it really that hard to show your previous room numbers on your cruise history?
  16. Thanks for the info. I used to use Allstate for other types of gift cards which were smaller denominations but now with the $1.75 per card charge many of these are no longer worth the headache of trying to get them through the mail.
  17. Ah, okay. I was wondering what would happen in a no show directly from Allstate, but thanks for the info! I don't really understand why they even bother with physical cards when all you need is the 16 digit number with PIN.
  18. Were you able to get replacements? I have always wondered what happens when the gift cards don't show up.
  19. The name change can be costly if Carnival adheres to its rules. It is technically a partial cancellation of the name being removed and then rebooking their fare to the current rates under the new name, which could be a lot higher as the cruise date starts to get closer.
  20. There are definitely some good deals to be had on the FIrenze right now. Strike while the iron is hot momma always told me.
  21. I get the AARP 10 percent off and I use my BofA cash rewards visa which is set to online purchases for 3 percent off so when I buy the AARP cards I end up with the addition 3.3 percent rebate from the visa card. I get the extra .3 from BofA just for being a regular customer. If you have a high amount at BofA like I did previously that 3 percent can become 4.5 percent if you are a BofA platinum customer.
  22. At Cabo I am happy just to walk around the port area and beach, with a nice little walk to Cabo Wabo for a bit. So for me having to be back onboard at 1:30 for a 2:30 departure is just too short for me. I went ahead and booked the Firenze 5 day for Nov next year. The inside room was only $864 with gratuities for two people and a net cost of $701 for two people with my 13% AARP/BofA discount plus shareholder benefit. $70 per day per person good deal for non casino person. I like balconies but I have literally done the Cabo/Mazatlan/Puerto Vallarta route 11 times since 2007 so I will survive.
  23. Or maybe you had a guilty look about you 🤣. When I was 40 I tried the lame old water in vodka bottles, 3 out of a case of costco waters and they found every one of them by shaking each bottle at Long Beach. Meanwhile the 12 Sparks drinks I put in the checked luggage went right through, go figure! The last three ports Long Beach, Miami, and Seattle, no one has looked into my carry on wine bottles or the 12 pack of Costco coconut waters. Just like calling Carnival on the phone, you never know what you will get with security, which I think is not even Carnival employees.
  24. My cruise earlier this month on the Radiance 3 day booze cruise no one even opened my luggage to check the two wine bottles we had in there and a case of coconut waters. Maybe it is that I am now 56 and not 26 😉 . After all this new security talk I thought for sure they would at least open my suitcase but nope.
