  1. I checked in on the hub but when they went to seat us I asked for a booth. There is unfortunately no way to request it on the app. I asked before the host could make a move towards where we were going. The two tops are just too cramped all around for me. Not a big fan of the newer ships that pack you in like sardines in the MDR or the main showroom.
  2. That is a big yes. When you take a regular size table, cut an 8 inch gap in the middle, and are still bumping elbows with the " table" next to you, it does bother me. I usually cruise on the smaller Spirit class ships and simply ask for booth seating, which affords plently of room to spread out and privacy. Usually by the 2nd night they know what we want and accomodate.
  3. On the Spirit class I always ask for a booth even though there is only two of us. The two tops are a joke, like you said only about 8 inches of separation.
  4. This has a higher chance of working with the older crowd, say in your 50s or above. If you are a giggling 20 something the odds of them tearing apart your "soda" go up exponentially 🤣.
  5. Nice diagram! Also good advice is to stay away from the regular balconies that jut out. For example, cabin 5190 is going to have zero view to the left because of the structure of the ship. And likewise room 5224 will have zero view to the right. I would try to stay several rooms away from the regular balcony rooms that stick out to keep at least a decent view to left and right. 5236 is the absolute best of the obstructed view balconies due to the triple length and good views left and right. I am usually right above it in room 6232 with the extended giant balcony.
  6. Here is a quick youtube video showing the view with the smaller lifeboats across from the balcony.
  7. 5151 is right by the larger lifeboats unfortunately.
  8. 5151 is right by the larger lifeboats unfortunately.
  9. The main concern with these is not to be near the front 3 lifeboats on either side, as they are larger and actually block some of the view across. I put red x's by the ones you don't want!
  10. And no, the 100 ounce bottle of "listerine" won't work either 😁
  11. Well, you are only allowed 15 drinks regardless of how you get them, so you might as well consider that a yes.
  12. The atrium is several rooms in front of you and 5 levels down. Plus the area around the atrium isn't really open, there are windows that look down into the atrium.
  13. You will be fine. You are a decent ways off from the atrium.
  14. Carnival is in a survival mode right now, I hardly think expanding loyalty benefits is on the agenda right now. New blood probably outspends us regulars by a lot overall.
  15. At Long Beach I tried the phone routine and it was a no go. Had to get in another line to get it printed.
  16. This is the info Carnival provides. See attached pdf file. 107965980_2021USAnnualReport-ShareholderBenefit-Final.pdf
  17. I got a Christmas card in March so there isn't much faith in USPS for me. I know email is not as safe as FAX but since the account info is redacted I am not worried. US mail is the least safe way of sending info in these days.
  18. That's a pretty good assumption to me. Went from one month down to about a day recently but there will surely be a glut in April, assuming it is renewed. I bought a lot of shares when I thought the stock was recovering a year ago so I need this benefit for about 100 more years 🤣
  19. They have been quick lately. Before it was taking me a month or so. I just clip off the sticky part of post it notes to cover the account info, it works like a charm. Scribbling with a pen didn't work too well.
  20. The answer is yes, he would just need a document showing the ownership. But as shof515 said above only one per stateroom. I and my traveling pal also have the shares so we just get one benefit and split it to be fair.
  21. That is all I do also. I put the info in the body of the email, scan the page with my account information and all the info handwritten onto the statement also. Never had an issue yet, but of course with carnival one never knows what will happen.
  22. Was that a FAX? I just scan and then email a PDF file, no problems ever.
  23. It was last November. I had created a cash account and brought my handy 500 dollar gift card from Allstate. I ended up boarding with no money on my sail and sign account. I don't know if it is official policy or a lazy person checking me in didn't know how or want to bother applying the GC.I would much rather apply the GC myself when I create the account online but it is not an option. The kiosk turned out to be easy enough though.
  24. No problem. And if you get a cruise for 250 deposit and then have to cancel it, the penalty is usually 50 dollars and you would have 200 left to be used on a cruise that is booked within 12 months of cancellation date. So it is not the end of the world.
  25. Wait for a half off deposit, they have them often.
