What were your port times, since it's so close wonder if you would have time to leave and go back to the ship to eat and then go back, if that is allowed like a Day Pass.

Correct,on an earlier post in this thread someone mentioned. While at one of the ports they thought Royal could just walk the streets and pick fresh produce and meat at one of the street markets if they saw something that looked good to bring back to the ship for the passengers to eat. Sorry but I sure hope it doesn't work that way for the passengers sake. Everything should be lined up ahead of time for being picked up at the ports,if they run out of something that just means their projections are off for that item.

Find a round trip from Vancouver, from there they don't sail as long in the open sea because they take the Inside Passage, Don't be locked into sailing on Royal Caribbean, Alaska is for the scenery and Ports, not the ships. Take the best itinerary, don't judge it by cruiseline and be stuck just looking at Royal. An itinerary like this, also has Glacier Bay which is a must see for sure! Just go up on outside deck 12, wouldn't that work. Deck 10 has that over hang. Up on deck most likely would be better wouldn't it?

Ships seem to be about 1 3/4 miles from the shoreline.

Are the fireworks shot off from the land or from the water? Just how far off the shore are the ships located at?
