  1. The cards available at AARP are the old ones...You've got to first book through Royal then transfer.
  2. Want another cruise line? Cruise Critic conveniently list at least 40 other choices. We are not gamblers, but somehow we are on the Princess Casino Deals list, just got an offer for $75 per person on a 16 day Hawaiian round trip. Along with many others... Look around.
  3. They need to take $ 10 or $15 off the debt total before paying dividends. So, maybe two more years at this pace.
  4. 88.6% of Americans want 6:00-6:30 dining time. Stick with the early fixed dining for your larger group. It is only five nights.
  5. If town is close, go to town and have a meal of your choice, hit a bar or two, do some shopping, hit a bar or two, get back to the ship while you still can.
  6. We will turn pinnacle with only 39 actual Royal cruises.
  7. Sorry if I didn’t make it clear at conversion we got 38 points in the new system. 5x7 +3 Only one RCCL cruise,
  8. Not quite the way it worked. At a point in time Royal “gave” an adjustment to Celebrity cruisers. -or at least this is what happened to us. When the 2011 points conversion happened on Royal, we had five credited cruise credits with only one actual cruise. Thus four credit adjustment.
  9. The average cruise passenger doesn’t even know that there is a library on the ship. If you want more safety send the teen to the R Bar. No one at it while the ship in port, except for staff. (No this is not a joke)
  10. Dog house is quite good, but I’d go with Giovanni’s.
  11. Medal winner on our last Royal cruise. We gave them to a couple children on the ship,
  12. I'll shut up for the Cap'n, but not for the cruise director. Sorry.
  13. The view was a bit weather beaten last time we were on, but still a good view.
  14. The famous seer and soothsayer says: "You will be getting a Boardwalk Balcony."
  15. Those precious Royal pool towels are worth millions per towel. Our steward has given us towels to use in our suites since before the pandemic. (Maybe we asked for them, I really don't remember)
  16. As stated, if you are going to cruise to Alaska, you want Glacier Bay included. Also, ships out of Vancouver are better than out of Seattle. We’ve been many, many times on various lines. But for one timers, the above advice is mandatory. Also, I would want the big three on the cruise… Juneau, Ketchikan and Skagway.
  17. All consumed water comes from the same system. The excess sodium comes from the cooking, as they use a lot of salt in their cooking.
  18. cruise lines use either reverse osmosis processes or steam evaporation to desalinate water (remove the salt content) before adding chlorine and minerals to make it safe for consumption.
