  1. If you are booking online yourself you need to check the accessible box & a banner pops up asking you to verify you need an accessible cabin. There is also a form to fill out if you are using a mobility device. Also, on the deck plans it shows which cabins are accessible. I honestly don't think any of them are for 4 people though.
  2. When I asked in January on the Enchanted I unfortunately got a snippy GS person who said they would pass them out with the debarkation info & they didn't have any. I was trying to see if they had started offering it to the Miami airport as they had in the past (they don't BTW). So it didn't work for us. I know you need to get all your info into them early so they can process it.
  3. Do you have a CVP? I was told there are waitlists but I've never used them, I change when we plan to go, or book a suite as that solves my husband's needs. I would call the CVP line & ask them not the regular Princess call center.
  4. There is cruise parking available from ABM https://www.sfcruiseparking.com/home which is a short walk to the cruise terminal from 80 Francisco St. If you stay near the airport (which is not in San Francisco proper) there are many hotels with park & fly packages available, but you will need to Uber, Lyft, Taxi, or use BART (the transit train) to get to the pier. I have not found any hotels in San Francisco that you can park your car during a cruise. For our 11-day cruise this month parking at the garage is $264. My husband uses an electric wheelchair & I drop him & our luggage off at the pier, then drive the car to the garage & walk back. If you do use the garage, you turn right out of the pier driveway onto the Embarcadero, then left at Bay St., then left onto Kearney St., then left onto Francisco St. garage is on the left. The walk is much easier back. You just turn left as you leave the garage, walk about 1/2 a block, then cut thru the plaza & cross the Embarcadero & you're at the pier. I hope this helps, have a great cruise!
  5. I would add that if you order something & you do not care for it you can ask for something else & it will be graciously replaced. You may also order more than 1 entree (in the MDR) if you are undecided on what you want. You can always find something to eat on a cruise ship!
  6. Possibly the Steakhouse had too many ribeye's that were nearing the use by date so they transferred them to the MDR. Just a thought.
  7. I TOTALLY AGREE TO START CHECKING ALL YOUR BOOKED CRUISES!!! Sorry it's so long but I wanted to warn everyone. Here's my story from yesterday. I decided to take a look at the cruise I booked in Jun 2023 for Dec 2024 on the Sun. Everything has been paid in full since Jun 2023 & I've been checking it & looking at it from time to time & it's been all good until yesterday morning at 2:30am when all I did was click on packages to just check the cost. When I did a large banner came up & said "Congratulations you've purchased the Premier Package!". UHH, I didn't agree to purchase anything, but when I went to check my payments it now showed a shortfall of $1209.60 due on Jun 15, 2023. This is a 14 day cruise so that amount is not correct for either package so that's not why my cruise fare went up $604.80pp. I immediately called & emailed my CVP but went ahead & paid it because I was concerned the Princess booking computer would cancel my booking. My CVP has escalated it to her supervisor, who has escalated it to her supervisor, & I think it went higher than that. My CVP said they can see there was a change on 4/22/24 which is apparently when they started this new Sanctuary Collection change. Don't get me wrong, if I can have the premier pkg for 14 days for 2 of us at $1209.60 I'll be thrilled but I really don't see that happening. OH, also after I paid I got a survey request about my excursion booking which we have NO excursions booked for this cruise & I never even looked at that tab. SO keep checking!!! Their systems are messed up & thing are getting changed without warning! Another example is the error that allowed a whole bunch of people to book mini suites at no charge that now have 3 days to either accept an interior at no charge, pay to upgrade, or if they don't respond by 5/6 they will forfeit the $200 deposit.
  8. Uber has wheelchair accessible service, check to see if it's available. There are also cabs for wheelchair users.
  9. You can ask for a hand held shower head from your cabin steward.
  10. The bidding system doesn't recognize the need for accessible cabins. If you are in an accessible cabin & bid you get whatever is available. I know this as we need an accessible cabin unless it is a suite as my husband needs a shower he can sit in & not a tub. So we can't bid on anything less.
  11. I read on a different thread that the bed has a hard side & a soft side so it can be flipped over if you don't care for the side it is currently on. I've never had an issue with the beds so I can't speak from experience. I think you can also ask for a topper if you find it's too hard.
  12. If you don't have your Medallions you go to the blue lane. They will get you set up.
  13. How close to sailing are you? How did you book (through a TA, CVP, directly on website)? If you have a TA or CVP I'd call them to see if they can get you moved to a different cabin. If not then I would use direct message on Insta or X with your booking information, and the Customer Solutions team should contact you directly to assist. The only other place you might contact would be the special assistance group to ask to be moved to a non-accessible cabin. Or once on board ask guest services if they have any availability. Hopefully you get an upgrade through bidding before you board.
  14. You no longer get to refuse the upgrade if you don't care for the assigned room. Your credit card is immediately charged & you are assigned a new cabin. You might possibly be able to move to a different cabin if there is one in the same category available BUT you do not get to refuse.
  15. I had the same thing happen to us. There was no change to our booking but we are in an accessible cabin & since there is NO way to request an upgrade to an accessible cabin I thought that might be the reason. I resubmitted a bid but I'm ambivalent about it. I may go ahead & cancel it. I wish they would let us bid on all categories & not limit them & to be able to request accessible not just give it to anyone who bids if there is someone who might need it (there are videos of people being given an accessible cabin that didn't need or want it).
  16. I purchased 5 $500 gift cards at 6:45 pm PST yesterday 3/27 on my desktop computer with no issues. Maybe they fixed the issue or check your firewall or VPN if using them. Good luck!
  17. I would think if you ask for a kettle for a medical reason they should provide one for you. If you have any issues ask your concierge, especially if you are far from the concierge lounge.
  18. Thank you for taking so much of your time finding answers. If they don't get some shady spots I for one won't be able to utilize the sanctuary! I sunburn in minutes!
  19. From conversations with crew that should know, there is a passenger capacity that determines if a cruise is sold out, not that all cabins are filled. They can only allow X amount of people so when they sell cabins to 3 or 4 in a cabin that adds people & means some cabins can't be sold. They also have some vacant cabins for emergency moves (maybe you have a major issue that they can't fix they need to move you somewhere). We have been moved on embarkation day from a mini suite to a full suite with no notice (and no charge) very last minute as our name was on the mini suite door & on information in the room! We found out when we went to the muster station so there are available rooms even if it says sold out. BUT if you are picky on location be aware they can assign you anywhere in the category you bid on. Good luck with whatever you decide - to bid or not, enjoy your cruise!
  20. Unfortunately some of us do need a suitcase (or at least something rather large) to hold all our medications & things we don't trust to porters or baggage handlers. My husband has cancer & his medication list is very long (& some are really pricey) & I have a few prescriptions too. So I have some major carryon luggage.
  21. Be warned - they changed the recipe for the veal pasta (at least it is not what we had before) & it is now small pasta pockets with very little filling and a lot of dough - not what they served before which was delicious. Please try it & hopefully what you get is back to the original recipe.
  22. When I look at the deck plans for mid aft the Calypso pool & the Horizon Court seem to be above the cabins not the main pool but from reports anywhere under the pool deck can be noisy due to the loungers being arranged & the towel carts etc. Have you looked for reviews on a particular cabin? If your wife is concerned I would book the lower floors. It really isn't far to a set of elevators anywhere you book with the exception of the furthest cabins in the front & aft. FYI we are booked in a cabin on the Riviera deck in May to Alaska so we'll see how we like it then!
  23. The bidding process just started a year or 2 ago (sorry not positive which year) & changed slightly after it originally started. Currently there is a chart that shows when you can start bidding IF you can bid that starts around final payment date (go to the Princess site to find it). When you can bid you input your last name & booking # then upgrade options show for you. Not all cabin categories get offered to you (in my experience) so if you are in an inside you probably won't be offered a suite upgrade. There is a minimum bid per person (NOT per day) & you can bid up from the minimum. There is a meter that says poor to better as you decide on your bid amount. You must input a credit card & if your bid is accepted you will automatically be charged & a new cabin assigned. You do not get a choice in cabin. You possibly could request a different cabin if there was one in the same category still available but that hasn't been confirmed by anyone. There also appears to be a new facet where they contact people by email with a counter offer
  24. But if you want it you only pay the difference plus the 18% tip fee so not the full $19.
